I have met Aquas who come across as aloof... and others who are extremely down to earth/friendly and not at *all* aloof.

I have a feeling it may be because of the Saturn influence. Aquarius is co-ruled by Saturn, although Uranus is considered its primary ruler. I know that Capricorns use networking to work their way up the status ladder.

Some Aquarians (specially the ones who also have Capricorn in their charts) will focus on people who they believe they have something to gain from. So their aloofness is there - only - towards those people whom they believe it wouldn't be beneficial to 'network' with..

Actually - come to think of it - I've had this happen as well with an Aquarius. I will probably get an encore soon, since he's in one of my classes.

He stares at me and thinks I don't see him.. then as soon as he gets close to me - he looks away... usually looks *up* somewhere.. but it just seems odd lmao
Like I will walk past him - and he will suddenly stare at the ceiling. Seriously!

Obviously not all Aquarians are like this.. Actually I would say it's fairly uncommon.. but I've seen this kind of behaviour before.
I used to know an Aqua guy (who was gay) and he was being dismissive towards me as a friend, as though he had no interest in befriending me, although I was always nice to him. Later, he found out he can use me to further his popularity with a particular group of people (because I knew those people) - and he suddenly became the nicest person in the world towards me.. as though he was suddenly my best friend.

if i have just met people that i feel instantly comfortable with, i will be more open. but, if i don't get an initial sense of ease, i will tend to be more reserved, and i suppose that can be misinterpreted as aloof.

I'm an air sign myself and I frequently hear people describe introverted or reserved people as "stuck up" just because they are quiet. They misinterpret this as the quiet person thinking that they are "too good" to talk to them, when that's usually nowhere near the truth at all. It drives me nuts.

There are plenty of reasons why I might not talk, as an air sign. But "aloof" and "a b****" are the only two that seem come to mind for people until they get to know me.

I've never really known a stuck-up Aquarius. The most stuck-up person that I can think of was a Taurus that I knew many years ago as a child. There probably are some stuck-up Aquarians out there in the world, but I don't think that they are the majority.
