Saw the PopChips commercial yesterday and totally thought he (Kutcher) was a d-bag. He's just a little too desperate for attention. I take your point about "nothing is sacred" in humor though.IP: Logged |

Anything Ashton Kutcher says, I'm okay with. Dude, its Ashton Kutcher.I think any sign has the capacity for owning opinions. Expressing those opinions is another story.. ------------------- "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars." IP: Logged |

I'm not so sure it's even about opinions, though.I think it's just about people who like to make fun of stuff. For instance, Matt Stone has also made fun of Jews on South Park many times. He himself is Jewish. I think some people just like to openly poke fun at the absurd, even if they know they'll land in hot water over it . IP: Logged |

I agree it wasn't a very good commercial, they could found other ways to promote PopChips with Ashton involved. Point of the matter is, Famous youtube star YourFavoriteMartian, made a video called the sterotype song and its very similar. Fact is that Ashtons recieving the dissaproval and he isn't. Ashton shouldn't be, when there is humor like this everywhere! He should know not to portray characters that could hit s soft spot, knowing he has such a broad range of fans. Just because hes portraying the character does not mean he agrees with any of it. Ashton, you're awesome. Pick awesome roles. ---------- "Shoot for the moon. Thats ironic. Haha Wow...Seems like they'll do anything to make a quick buck, huh. But for your main point, I don't really know what to say to that. Pretend I proved my point by posting celebrities with prejudiced humor who aren't air signs. lol IP: Logged |

Oh wait, here its already done for me YAYAA edit: oh wait, they're air too. LOL. I'm terrible at this... Well, just know that you don't have to be all air to make a sexist/rascist/sterotypical/prejudiced/biased/joke. Though you did find a good pattern of them! IP: Logged |

Some people get offended if I'm honest, even if I'm tactful. I only get offended by certain things myself. There are definitely some things that I find cringe-worthy, but for me to feel like it's actually crossing the line into offensive, it has to be REALLY bad. If I don't like something, I just normally choose not to watch it rather than raise hell over it. For me to actually write a letter or complaint over something, it has to be really inappropriate or else deeply bother me, and there are only certain things that hit that level with me. Most things that I don't like, I change the channel and ignore. As for cultural jokes, as someone who's lived in another country (exchange program) and who's studied a few languages, I find cultural differences hilarious, and that includes American culture. I don't get offended by that stuff. I LOVE the anime "Hetalia", which is pretty much a parody of the world and history in general. Now, there are some kinds of humor that I don't like. However, am I offended? "Offended" seems like a strong word. I'd say that I find them unpleasant, but, again, not enough to go picket or anything. I think, too, that intent is very important when considering humor. I'd look very differently at someone who just made fun of everything as opposed to someone who targeted one group. I'd also look differently at someone who was just genuinely laughing at absurdity/making a joke in the spirit of fun than I would someone who just wanted to be vicious and who went too far. I don't really find Ashton Kutcher that funny, but I don't hate the guy, either.

Well, Air signs are comedians when they want to be. I personally like to make people laugh, it's better then being miserable so why not make the most of each situation. Dave Chappelle, hands done one of my favorite comedians and Chris Rock (Aquarius) as well. South Park, is hands down the best animated cartoon show ever (sorry Family Guy). I'm a Libra Sun, Aqua Rising and I don't so much offend people as I make them uncomfortable. I can be scathingly sarcastic, but that's usually because I'm trying to make a point. I never want to hurt anyone. My sarcasms are solely to make light of a situation or to make a point that some things in life should be taken more seriously. I'm an air sign, but I'm a pretty serious person. It's the Plutonian energy in my chart. I've got a dark sense of humor so anything twisted or just plan weird or uncomfortable makes me laugh. Jokes about violence or sex have fair game in my book (not in regards to people or specific groups, just violent or sexual themes in jokes). However, when it comes to jokes I draw the line with people and cultural identities. Maybe it's the Libra in me who is very aware of equality, principles and ethics, but I don't find crude, obscene or vulgar jokes about other cultures to be funny. Especially if the point of the joke is to ridicule another culture. As a civilization we don't understand enough about other cultures, or developed an honest and sincere respect for other cultures to make light of their cultural identities. We're still burring the ashes from racially oppressive systems that plagued our societies for many decades and centuries. I'm all for making light of life, sex, crime, happiness, absurdity, bogus-ness, conventionalism, unconventional-ism, basically any ideology, concept or idea including belief systems. However racial or cultural identities which relate specifically to people are off the table for me. I just like people to much to ridicule them. Which is probably why most of my jokes surround sexual or absurd themes. I talk about aliens a lot, however I don't ridicule them. My jokes have nothing to do with any specific individuals ethnicity. We can't change what we look like, I don't see the humor in ridiculing that. However that's just me. I'm a go with the flow kind of individual, and I do enjoy shows like South Park however, those silly boys do cross the line and when they do it makes it very difficult to watch. But I'm a very serious individual who has lived all over the world and does not see the point in ridiculing others. We could spend that time doing so many other things, like laughing about all the random things about life. Edit: removed link but it's on Youtube. Great video from Chris Rock, he's poking fun at police officers and stereotypes. IP: Logged |

Gotta love the fact that full-cuts of the video have been basically wiped out of existence by the company, as far as simple Google searches are concerned. LOL.IP: Logged |

Ok... well as a Libra Sun and with an 11th house stellium I really HAVE had issues with being quite offending to other people actually. I believe H3 Saturn also plays a part, in lending to my already very dry sense of humor and sometimes cold retorts and piercing comments. Doesn't help that my H11 Mercury receives a trine from Saturn. I've always had issues with being too direct, too straightforward or pushing the envelope with my sarcasm now and again. I'm not one to make stupid lighthearted jokes, I'm just extremely sarcastic. Yet, I have also been able to unexpectedly make people totally CRACK up and I'm very surprised when it happens! When I use some of the Libra charm to balance out the harshness of some things in my chart that points to dark humor I usually succeed. I find it very easy to be satirical as well. I am a pro at making great parodies and appreciating them. But I have my limits. Aquarian influences on my Mercury make me able to see fun in original, weird or spontaneous jokes. But don't push me by making too many jokes about women, feminism and their role in society, for one. I find it's enough for me to want to punch someone in the face if they think it's slick to make a joke about a 'feminazi' and just keep going on and on about such topics like it actually is something to joke about. I feel the same about sexuality and race jokes, and also religious jokes. I HATE HATE HATE George Carlin and become very uncomfortable when someone puts on a video of him or a CD of his comedy on religion in the car or something. And I am not even extremely religious, but feel that people should not degrade something another person holds dear for fun. Although I can be sarcastic about things and modern issues that bug me I would never make jokes about sexuality, race and religion, since I am a humanist. And since we're on the topic of South Park... I actually find crude humor very obnoxious actually, and I hate South Park. *unpopular opinion alert!! Hah.* I don't know how people watch this show. ------------------ "Perfect love casts out fear." -Anthony de Mello IP: Logged |

I don't see Ashton Kutcher funny at all. I do like Dave Chappelle, Richard Pryor, George Carlin, and South Park. Those guys, unlike Ashton, poke fun through social and political issues. Ashton is just desperate for attention, and he's not even a good actor to begin with.IP: Logged |

Sounds like every air sign or heavily influenced air sign person I know... I have Aquarius rising with Uranus in first house, and Mars and Venus gemini. I've ****** off a lot of people with my "not giving a crap about societal norms or roles" and my sense of humor. People used to tell me I should become a comedian XD A lot of my gemini and aquarius friends have the same issues lolz. Maybe not so much with the libras. They like to please everyone >.>All of my favorite comedians have air sun, or air influence.

Lol, true a worshipping a person regardless mentality is negative. No one programmed me into believing anything. I never mentioned anything about him being hot, talented, sprinkled on, etc. I never even said that I like this actor because my friends like him and I'm following their beliefs. Do you have a Mercury in Aries? Oh by the way, millions of people love him. Hahaz. I like him as an actor. Besides, I said that to begin with but then I expounded my point so I don't even understand why you brought that up. (Doesn't make sense in your magnification) How does Ashton Kutcher have the mentality of a 12 year old? Asshton? Really? lol, no. ------------------ "Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana." -Groucho Marx IP: Logged |
