Ok--Question for anyone who wants to tackle it. The 3 most feeling moons would be Cancer, Pisces and Taurus. if these were not afflicted, I don't think you could have a sociopath--Period. That is my theory. If they were, could you? Or, would the presence of these Moons make it virtually impossible?

Thanks so much for any thoughts. You don't have to be a wonderful astrologer to throw an answer in. This is just a discussion! x

The moon chiron person will have known emotional suffering and if they have integrated this aspect well, they will have developed the capacity to become a wounded healer as a result of their ability to understand and feel another persons pain, and it use the wisdom and experience they have gained in dealing with their own pain to help them. If neptune is present, the ability to merge with the other person is enhanced as the chiron moon person will possess extreme sensitivity to the energy of those around them. Water signs, trines, and conjunctions will turn this person into a human sounding board who will physically respond on a molecular level to another's suffering and may be able to heal through touch or thought. They may often feel overwhelmed in crowded places, and will need to withdraw in solitude often.

I have pisces moon (29) in the 12th conjunct aries chiron (1) and these trine 7th house scorpio neptune (24)and this rings very true for me.

I'm also wondering if, because neptune is in the 7th, it might have anything to do with predestined meetings that are clearly shown to be predestined?

I have Moon conjunct Chiron and when I am able to, I am often able to understand the pain and suffering of other people. The artistic work that I do is HIGHLY influenced by personal pain and tragedy, and connecting to the pain and tragedy of other people. I am the first one to defend the weak, the 'underdog' and those who harm others for fun... even though I cannot always be that perfect empathetic person I am often the first one to feel psychic ills from the malevolence, sadness and pain of other people. I want to reach out and offer people what they were never given, what I was never given - love, comfort or some sort of understanding. My works aim for others to feel some sort of solace - like, 'Oh, this person really understands what I am going through and who I am' sort of thing. Also, I want to do U.N. work, humanitarian things, and spread empathy to those who are in misfortune my entire life. Empathy has really become a huge facet of not only my goals, but my entire identity. I think this is in part because my Neptune falls in my 2nd House, the house of who we really are in terms of our gifts and what we have to offer. I believe this is a gift, along with my artistic ability, I have to offer to the world.

For example on how my empathy can 'act up' in a more difficult way: last week we had a presentation on the effects of drunk driving in school. I witnessed the victim, now severely impaired from a TBI, showing images of rehab and the accident and how their life was basically over, and literally almost vomited. Not because of gory images, but because of the sense of pure suffering I literally felt coming off of this family /in waves/. It wasn't as immediate as it obviously was at the start of the rehab process 2.5 years ago.... but I felt MUCH more affected by it than the people sitting around me. Classic example of how my empathy shows up in real life, often in very difficult ways. Sometimes it's hard to deal with such emotional overload for me. I totally agree with Taineberry on this one, for Moon conjunct Chiron people needing to retreat for a while since emotional overload is easy to happen for us. I was so dizzy and upset I almost had to leave. I usually also get an acute sense of anxiety because it is so painful inside of me to see such things happen.

ALSO - totally agree peachbeigeblue, Neptune touching personal planets will increase the possibility of one being more empathetic. I have my Neptune trine my Moon as well as Neptune sextile Venus and Jupiter. So this adds to the empathy factor for me too.

I have moon trine neptune in taurus and capricorn. For some reason when I'm tired is when my empathy is strongest. Songs about death and love make me cry and I can't handle negative stories. (moon in the 12th, Neptune in the 8th)

Sweet Scorpion (and also Ami, Scorpio rising, Pisces Moon and other Empaths), take care of yourselves. As natural empaths you have an amazing gift of being able to tune into the feelings of others (both good and bad) and this enriches your life experience enormously.

Protect yourselves against allowing your empathy to turn into sympathy on a broad scale. Sympathy is engaging with another's emotional field and getting too involved in their dramas because their emotion becomes your own. You can become so enmeshed into what they are feeling that you take on their pain to the extent that you too get pulled into their hole and cannot help them.

Empathy is recognising and understanding another's feeling but remaining separate enough as to be able to effectively deal with their issues in a compassionate way without becoming a victim of their emotions.

It is a tightrope walk between empathy and sympathy, but for fear of getting burnt every time someone has some personal drama, it is better to keep in a state of objective compassionate awareness. In the end, this is what is more helpful to the person you are trying to assist - you teach him how to catch fish instead of giving him a fish, and in that way you avoid co-dependent relationships from forming and there is less of a drain on your emotional core.

Also.. if you are not already doing it, try to visualize a protective circle of light around you when you become overwhelmed with the emotions around you to make the physical impact it has on you more manageable.

I couldnt agree with you more, my empathy quickly turns into sympathy, and before you know it I am involved in other peoples drama when I choose not to be, I dont know how it happens, it just flows into this mess and im now involved in the mess! Sometimes I dont like it when prople tell me how they feel, because they know that that will get and empathy and sympathy out of me and in turn I will try and do something to help. I just dont like being used like that.

I will definately try the protective circle idea. It might just help me allow others to help themselves. Thank you!

Thank you for the lovely advance Taineberry. I love the 'circle of light' visualization technique you suggested, and I am going to try it from now on.

You are completely correct too. Sometimes in the past I have become sympathetic versus empathetic, and it has hurt me too much dealing with others' troubles. Meaning, I don't feel a sense of calm knowing I have engaged in helping another person, instead I become the one who is hurting just as much if not worse. It's difficult, as you said, not to cross over from empathy to sympathy. That is why usually I avoid extremely toxic people when I deal with issues. In the past family members have made me vulnerable to this A LOT. And I just do not do it anymore, I don't try to mend all their problems because many are emotional vampires to the EXTREME. So for someone like me, that is a little too much to deal with.

Wow, firstly I'd like to say I really admire the work you do.. thats amazing, and I totally understand how you feel when you see victims, and you just want to help. I recently decided to join Soup Kitchen, a place where you can feed the homeless, I go there as often as I can. I want to join an old age home where I can help take care of elderly but my husband dont as I wont have any time for him! lol! He always tells me to take care of myself first then only can I take care of others....thats something I need to work on.
Ps..moon conjunct chiron, that must be really tough? I have neptune in 2nd house too, moon trine neptune, sun trine neptune, but venus square neptune, the last one is an a**! lol.

I think a positive chiron as the wounded healer is enormously emphatic, but a negative overly wounded chiron can become the destroyer. Afflicted chiron's are sometimes common in the charts of serial killers. But they are frequently common in the charts of people that were somehow hurt or damaged and developed great compassion and went on the help others and lead lives of sacrifice and healing.
