How do you all think it would manifest in the chart?I have written threads on it, but for purposes of this discussion, I would like to scrap those and start totally new. Please, be specific if you can. Thanks so very much!

I will start it out.I think a cancer moon would have empathy. I think a Pisces moon would, too. I don't know if one could have a great lack of empathy with these moons. What do you think? Scorpio Moon would be unique with the Water Moons.I think you could have a low level of empathy with the Scorpio moon.

Hi Ami Anne, you asked about empathy, and I think I should have that as my middle name!

I always wondered why I am so empathetic towards others.. I think some stuff in my chart might show why.. so here it is!:

Pluto sextile moon: my moon is in Virgo in 10th house, sextiling in scorpio in 12th house, I have this need to help people in need, I just need to feel useful and anyone who is sad or upset I want to help them! fix them! do something to make them feel better.... it goes as far as seeing someone crying at the station... just wanna make them feel better.

I have my moon as part of a t-square, i think that again amplifies my emotions and how I feel.

I have moon trine neptune, and sun trine neptune, which makes me very dreamy like and again thinking I can be a saviour to anyone who needs my help... I used to want to help practially, but now ive learnt to listen to people as a way to empathise with them.

I think there is more but I dont remember at the top of my head, when I do ill post more!

Thanks Scorp Rising! I need to come back and study more what you wrote. For your hubby, Scorpio Moon in the 12th would be doubly hard. Would you like me to put up my article on Moon in the 12th?

As a water void except for uranus in scorpio, I have plenty of empathy for people. I had to get out the field of social services because it used to weigh so heavy on my soul. I used to carry their burdens like they were mine and it started to affect my mental health. I hate to see suffering and I have had to become very selective in what I do...I live in a huge metro city so it's hard not to see.
I have moon trine pluto...that's about the only thing I could see being the indicator for me...

Feminine Signs - placements show where the empathy is directed or strongest, afflictions may negate.

It really desensitize's the brain and your emotions...I refuse to let my kids to watch that crap...lol

Same with me, I had to get out of social services because it hurt me too much to see people suffering, and I now work a dry, boring job. I also have moon trine Pluto (both in water signs).

Interesting that you are low in water and have such empathy. Why--to the experienced astrologers out there?

Is it because it is a water singleton? is i the water singleton combined with moon trine Pluto? Thanks!

3 of the biggest cheaters I know are air signs with cancer moons, one has Scorpio

I have a friend who I suspect is a sociopath. She has actually kind of admitted to me it. She is a sag with a cancer moon. She has no empathy

Ami, water placements are not the only ones responsible for empathy, you have to look at water houses and aspects to Neptune.

ETA: Also, water placements can be painfully unaware of other people's feelings, because they are so self-absorbed.

So to me, water does not systematically equal empathy.

I am a near water void and am one of the most empathetic people I know.

I do not like horror or even really action movies. No gore. I don't like stressing myself out

@peachbeigeblue- I have been called a sociopath many times by my family because I carry a IDGAF attitude but trust that deep down inside, I carry much burden with my emotions. I just won't outwardly focus on it because for me, I like to find solutions and refuse to dwell.

So true Doux Reve...when I was giving birth to my son 5 years ago, his father actually threw a hissy fit because no one was giving him any attention. He saw all the attention I was getting (DUH??) and felt slighted especially by the attention his mother was giving me. Cancer with cancer rising..

Funny no one mentioned Chiron yet. Chiron acting in a positive manifestation in the natal chart brings great and powerful empathy.

Yeah my girl is def a sociopath. She's read books about it and suggested another one of my friends was one but didnt say the word. Then it clicked later. One time I was talking about being narcissistic on the phone and she was like "am I?" and I was like kinda but I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE. And she just started laughing. We both knew it. She was like just like "yeah but i don't do anything THAT bad"

She does have moon and Chiron in her 12th

Not everyone considers Chiron important.

But I agree with you.

How do you think an afflicted Chiron would play out? Would it still make someone empathetic or the opposite?

Couldn't have said it better myself it's ashame that the younger generation are exposed to so much violence. To bad more parents don't have your mindset, my cousins were allowed to watch horror movies as kids, as a matter of fact, that's pretty much ALL they watched. Now.. let's just say one of them will be locked away for a very long time.

Right Doux, totally!. I was just starting there and wanting to go on and cover everything. I think Jupiter is a huge key, too!

@moonfish- the quality of horror movies this generation is SICK!!! It's not like Nightmare on Elm Street...lol. I swear I saw a clip of Saw and it gave me PTSD. Our kids are so desensitized emotionally with these video games, movies and what comes on TV, even the news. I almost beat my sister's boyfriend up when he took my 5 year old to playground to shoot BB's. My head almost popped off. No toys guns allowed either....if you noticed, I live in philadelphia- practically the murder capital of the US. They call us Killadelphia. There was a murder everyday for 11 days since January 1st.

I practically bawl my eyes out when I see these poor people going through this kind of loss..I refuse to watch the news.
