The stereotypical style of someone with Scorpio or 8H placements is Goth. (Dark clothes, heavy make-up, long nails, jewelry-chains.)

In your experience, do you find this stereotype to be true?

8th house is not a house of appearance. Only 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th can give you some physical and personality traits. So no. Scorpio is in his own house here. The energy is not "damaged".

I actually haven't known a goth Scorpio. A few Pisces ones, but never a Scorp.

I have an 8th house moon. I'm not goth, but I do like wearing black--just not the style that goths wear. I like the more chic, polished look; I don't like anything overly outlandish or outrageous. I like a bit of retro inspiration in my look: I like classic things that never go out of style.

I would say that I have Scorpio-flavored tastes in other things, though, definitely: I like film noir, suspense, mysteries, thrillers, etc. (though I hate the "torture porn" genre). I like spooky TV shows/shows that are a bit dark (with a few exceptions), like "Twin Peaks" and the original "Twilight Zone" series (the bi-annual marathons on Sci-Fi are my only 4th of July and New Year's traditions).

Yes but not only. Any Planet on angles can contribute in your physical appearance. The Axis 1-7 and 4-10 are the PERSONAL enviroment houses. The houses that influence the most the native in psyshical and psychological way.
Always remember this: Houses represents your enviroments. Only Planets can bring energy here. Houses alone don't have GREAT effects. They have to have a SOURCE.

My Moon's in the 8th.
Pluto in Scorpio sextile Capricorn asc.
Pluto square Saturn in the 1H.

Not true.

I find heavy make-up, jewellery & long nails repulsive. However, people say that black suits me very well.

I have my ASC ruler Jupiter in Scorpio conjunct Venus in Scorpio, which is how my Scorpio influence probably directly reaches my appearance. I have been told that I wear the color black far too much to be healthy. I digress, but oh well. I feel, like some others have said here, that I do look my best in black. I was born with lighter hair as well, but people have commented that I look amazing with black hair. I kind of resemble a Scorpio ASC in the sense, where I look good with darker hair. (I have very fair skin though, it's not on the darker side.)

I don't really like traditional goth attire, but I love punk styles like fashion by Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen. I usually dress in a classy but edgy way. I like looking sultry, never slutty or openly sexy. I think it's better to be able to turn heads without showing your rack off, to be honest!

Love this art piece RedScorp! It's dark without being overly so. I love how it carries a morbid edge while remaining colorful. I think it's quite an awesome alternative cover for your FB timeline.

That knuckle armor ring looks amazing!
I could choose to wear something like that once in a while. Simply love metallic stuff.

Not at all. I honestly think Goth is more a Pisces/Aquarius thing.

Most Scorpios I know try to blend in, rather than stand out.

It would be a 1st or 10th house thing.

Other the pic of the rings, I'm not goth :]
and i beg to differ about Scorpios blending in. Look at bjork and whoopi goldberg, both have Scorpio Sun/Moon and both have there own original styles.

The daughter of a friend of mine was quite a Goth in high school. Her rising is Scorpio, with Pluto conjunct her ASC.

Bjork Has Pluto conjunct Uranus on her MC. Uranus is square her Mercury in the 2nd (how she gets her money/her career).

She also has Neptune conjunct her ASC (yes, in Scorpio).

Whoopi is an Aqua Rising as well, as well as her chart ruler Uranus squaring her Moon, Mercury and Trine her Sun. She does have Pluto square her Sun as well.

I don't think Scorpio placements themselves show anything "extreme". Aspects to Pluto might cause someone to have intensity in their personality or intensify something else more than a simple Scorpio Sun or Moon.

Scorpio is about what's under the surface, not above. Goth is all about the surface.

This is just my own astrological experience though. :P

Okay that's understandable, but at the same time if Scorpio placements are just about how we expressing ourselves internally, then why does Pisces/Aqua represent goth?

again i'm a scorpio sun/mars/pluto 8h conjunction and I have a style that doesn't match with the way my family and friends dress. In fact, they often think i'm quite weird.

(didn't mean the thumbs down)

Aquarius/Uranus is about standing out, being different. Causing a movement,a trend.
To me Pisces/Neptune is attracted to things that are offbeat and they like fashion that fits their mental state or things that are unusual.

I'm not saying it's impossible or a Scorpio to ever want to stand out - the whole chart has to be taken into account.

I just find (I know tons of Scorpios - I have a Scorpio DSC so they are just constantly around me!) that most of the Scorpios I know are not that intense on the surface nor do they particularly try to stand out unless it's in a career. - Rising/house placements has a lot do with this though.

And no worries.

My ascendant's in Capricorn with Uranus & Neptune on it.
Pluto sextile Asc.
I've Aquarius intercepted in my 1st.
Saturn in Aquarius in the 1st.

Yes, I can kill for individuality but Gothic? Nay! I love goth rock though.

However, one of my friend has ascendant in Aquarius square Pluto, Saturn's in the 1st & this fellow's a full-blown goth.

I'm not only talking about goth here, but alternative fashions, lifestyles, groups. Goth is just a part of this!

Sun in the 8th & people have said the same for me too. They like me in black and also I feel comfortable in dark red, which I receive compliments on as well. But I always disliked the 'goth' look. I'm not/never was a scenester. It's a cute thing for kids, the outrageous styles, it's fun to see what they think up, but for 30+, just, NO. You don't have to look like a Gap ad campaign, but tone it down just a bit.
