Ami, this has been the most helpful way for me to understand astrology. Not all of the books give explanations that are relevant for everyone. I'm struggling to forget what most new age books say and go back to traditional astrology, which makes more sense for me.

I haven't offered to read a whole chart for anyone because I tend to become overloaded, but I have looked at the charts of family members and friends. Reading their charts has made it easier to grasp things about my own. Sometimes it takes a bit of staring, other times something will just come to me.

One more thing, about the drama that seems to have taken over this thread and others, why not walk away from a thread you disagree with? You don't have to say anything and it doesn't make you look good to go to a thread just to completely disagree with the op. This isn't the first time that she's done this and I doubt that it'll be the last. This reminds me of SaggiMC, who even a lot of moderators liked though he/she kept making condescending comments/spamming everyone's thread who asked for opinions/clarification. SMC got away with it for a while until they made the fatal mistake of turning on the mods. No one agrees with anyone here 100% of the time, but most of us won't go to another's thread with our minds made up and crap all over what the op posted. It's a wonder that anyone feels comfortable posting.

I havent read the whole thread, but just because "asteroids are a person's favorite thing", doesnt make them true, meaningful or relevant. And anyone who doesnt find them relevent and points it out, is not automatically dissing the person who is talking about them. & btw anyone can make them relevant to a person by giving an interp that simply strokes the person's ego. The average person quickly latches on to that and accepts it as truth.

Sorry. But it's true. Ami may LOVE asteroids, but that doesnt mean they mean anything astrologically or that her interps have any basis in reality.

Rosalind, just do your thing. You do it well. Stay away from people that try to tear you down.

You do know that no one is forcing any LL member upon you, Linda Jones, correct?

quote:
While they deserve our ongoing empathy, understanding, and help (if we can help), they do not deserve our peace of mind.

Again, I'd advise to ignore her posts. You seem to be giving this situation too much power over your life: if it's making you insecure, bringing up issues related to trust, disturbing your peace of mind, and then the issue with having to turn off your comp...perhaps you need a break from this forum?

quote:
Moreover, if one member is allowed to consistently disturb the peace

This is actually not the case. If it were true then she would have been banned by now as she's been here a while so I'd advise against going over the top in your assessment, as I know you're trying to be objective.

And, dear, the way you phrase things makes people feel bad sometimes. I believe that is why Ami got upset. And others have gotten upset. <3

Lonake & Linda Jones...? Two of my favorites, going head to head????

I will have to re-read this after some sleep and maybe come in with something good and sensible to say.

Don't fight gals. It's not worth it. You both have too much to knowledge and wisdom to share. Don't waste your energy bumping heads over the little things.

Dear, let me tell you something: Truth is the scariest thing in the world. I know very well that truth upsets but I didnt come here on this forum to start pity people for their personal things. I did come here to do astrology in a PROFESSIONAL way. Its people choice if they want to believe or not or the way they take what I say. If Ami took it way too much personally, don't blame me. I am just an astrologer not God, to do miracles.

Not the case actually. A difference in perception, likely. If Linda Jones meant her reply to me with a fighting tone as you seem to be suggesting, then I didn't pick up on it.

Did you know that sense of humor is the quality job interviewers look for the most? Acting professionally doesn't mean you have to act in an unlikable way. People are still people at the end of the day.

And yes, that rhymed

Just because you don't like the way I act that doesnt mean I act in a unlikeble way. I act professionally. Yes, people are people but here we talk about astrology not people. This forum is about learning astrology not pity people or feel sorry for their personal things. Now, before you start judging me or judging the way I act as a astrologer, better look at yourself. If you think people are people start learn astrology and start helping them. And then we talk. Until then, I do my things the way I want.

Thank you Lonake for your advice. But I don't feel the need to obfuscate the issues already stated in my 2 prior posts by getting into a one-on-one with anyone. Those issues need to be brought to light and addressed if we're all to enjoy a somewhat peaceful learning atmosphere. Randall has repeatedly said that he wants members to feel safe. Well that objective cannot be achieved when there's constant infighting and one Mod in particular stands out as a common denominator in so many of them.

I believe the issue of using one's chart info against them is something you yourself seemed to be concerned about as per your posts in Aquacheeka's thread "The Dependency Paradox" in the "Sweet Peas in the Rain" forum.

I also believe that having suffered in life is not and should not be a license to create unpleasantness for others.

I do not have anything else to say. Hope you have a good day

I could be wrong obviously, but I believe Randall would advise you to ignore if you feel that disturbed by Ami Anne and cannot get past it. Banning only happens with repeat major offenses as far as I'm aware.

Yes, to poke holes in said argument, of which I did a fabulous job Did her initial comment regarding my chart bother me emotionally or disturb my peace of mind? Answer is no.

I think everyone needs to be mindful of how they phrase their posts online since they can easily be misinterpreted. We don't have the luxury of observing body language and the tone of someone's voice online as we do in person.

We're all humans here (moderators, too!) and we make mistakes. No one is an angel in this thread. How about we drop it and move on?

Perfect! I say this all of the time! People shouldn't be so uptight and they should be thankful that people even come to this site.

Randall did address the issue of NOT using personal information against a person...

"..This will not be tolerated."
http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/212766.html

I don't know what that means, I've been around enough to see it's usually tolerated. Some people really "get off"on slamming others, and they will do it through astrology as readily as anything else.

So individual members keep coming around trying to articulate these long-standing problems, but invariably they get muffled out and shown the door.

Yeah it always boils down to "ignore it or leave." I find that attitude highly dysfunctional. Nevertheless I think this thread has some well-articulated posts which may sink in with people and improve the quality of discourse here.

Has it really bothered anyone? I think this is one of the better threads because we are airing things out.

Cheers

Why is this even being debated? Ami was in the wrong, and she apologized. It's over and done with.
