So I've heard that Saturn in the 8th is really quite rare and I was wondering if this is true.

Have you guys had any positive experiences with this placement?
I know that you are pretty much guaranteed a long life but, not wanting to be dramatic, you've gotta pay the price with some heavy duty things like death, sex and money...

Also, add the sign your Saturn is located in!

Thanks!

<long life? Really. lol

And I was thinking my life is one long outdrawn death.

Just kidding of course. I love being alive.

My Saturn is retograde! in Cancer in detriment! in 8th house.
It is also the ONLY planet on the YOU-hemisphere and quinkunx Moon. Oh the joy!

Luckily it is trine Jupiter in Pisces in 3rd house, so I can at least talk about it.

There are good things about Saturn in 8th, yes. Though the good things could also be bad depending on the perspective.

For example:
I only do long lasting relationships or friendships or none at all.
Totally devoted to anyone I call my friend. Forever.

Though of course my boundaries are SO strong, that only few get into the "inner circle", cause once I let someone in, they stay in. They may be free to leave of course, but emotionally (Cancer) I will not be able to get over them.

I sometimes joke and say: I don`t do friendships, I do pacts. lol

Once I fall in love, it is forever. I mean it. I canīt "un-love" people (Venus is in Capricorn square Pluto to boot).

Is that a good thing?
Not always. Actually because I know about this, it makes me very afraid of emotional and sexual intimacy and shutting others out, because I might become too attached (Aquarius-Moon is not really thrilled with that).

If I commit to something or someone, it is forever. Which is the reason I rarely really commit, at least not to THEIR knowledge. I can be deeply committed inside of myself without ever letting them know. lol

oh and Saturn is also conjunct my Vertex.

Needless to say I love Saturnian people or those with Cappy influence.

This thread is going to be very short, because natives with Saturn in the 8th do not like to talk about it.

i guess I must be the exception then.

This 3rd house Jupiter of mine is talking about ANYTHING, and with the trine to the 8th house Saturn it probably helps me to come to terms with that weird Saturn down there, always saying NO, even if mentally I am convinced YES Would just be an equally good answer.

But I also have Neptune in the 8th house, so having both Saturn and Neptune there is a bit of a crazy situation.

Yes, I consider that trine to be a saving grace. Actually I am not too sad about Saturn in Cancer in 8th house, I mean that is obviously how I am, and it is an interesting counterweight to my Sun, Mercury, Mars, Neptune, NN and ASC in Sagittarius and Moon in Aquarius.

I guess without that somber Saturn and Cappy Venus square Pluto I would be UNSUFFERABLE.

Of course it is not easy handling it. But who wants easy?

(well certainly no person with Saturn in 8thouse. lol)

Saturn AND Neptune sounds difficult, as these are so different energies.

Saturn putting up boundaries, and Neptune dissolving boundaries.

i know someone with a pisces saturn in the 8th with a strong opposition to their second house virgo venus/uranus/pluto conjunction and they were very, very prudish about sex for a very, very long time; to the point that he couldn't use any sexual words or even alliw himself to think about sex- even while going through puberty as a boy! also, he's incredibly artistically talented, but throughout his life had a very hard time making money, either on his artistic merits or with any other job. aditionally, he's been burdened with debt for a long time.

Another Pisces-Saturn?
That is really interesting.

Where are all the earthy, airy and fiery Saturns?
How does it come, only us water Saturns confess to having Saturn in 8th?

I have Libra Saturn in 8H, but it is tightly conjunct Jupiter, which makes both into a wholly separate creature.

I am always speaking for myself.
Is there someone else in the universe but my SELF?

Must be my Sun in 1st house conjunct combust Mercury speaking.

And easy? Really?
Wouldnīt that be boring?
But then again you probably wouldnīt know, if you had easy.

Yeah at times I`d like to have easy just once in my life. It would make things so much easier.

Oh and I am glad there ARE other Saturns out there, not only water Saturns, who do not really am that happy with Saturn (especially not Cancer and Pisces, as Saturn puts up boundaries, and water signs are pretty much about merging with other people or experiences, and to do that you can`t do that much with boundaries. And Saturn is dissatisfied as well, saying: What am I supposed to do with all that emotional stuff?).

The thing is, I don't really feel "qualified" to give testimony about personal experience with an 8H Saturn. I have a Sagittarius Sun, so Jupiter effectively rolls my die. Jupiter and Saturn merged as one has a very serious effect on Saturn's manifestation.

I'm still pretty darn lucky, as most Sag Suns are. And with Moon in 8H as well, intuition rules the day. None of these are very Saturnine, even though Saturn is exalted in Libra.

This thread might be long after all.

Okay, all my fellow Saturn-in-8th-housers, since we're all here, what can we learn from each other in order to make the most of this difficult placement? it is my firm belief that Saturn rewards you in the end, providing you put the necessary work. Let's remember that after Saturn was banished by Jupiter to a very desolate land, it managed to turn it into a golden place, hence the term Saturn's Golden Age. So let's mine for gold.
