I have a medium size cardinal on my forearm! Originally I only wanted it to be an inch and on my wrist, but it was free and I was weak-willed when the guy asked if I wanted to do it bigger. I have a window and saw a cardinal (female) perching on the green leaves and just thought it was beautiful and regal looking. I didn't get it for any particular reason other than the freedom birds in general have.My second tattoo is from a Lady GaGa song: "Find your freedom in the music" and tattoed on my rib underneath my boob. Music is super important to me and where I feel most free. Moon in Taurus. Also planning on getting a phrase "Si vis pace para bell um" on my collar bone. IP: Logged |

I have the astrological signs of my grandmothers (Scorpio and Leo, they both have passed</3) and my sign Virgo on my right collar bone to represent the beautiful matriarch of my family, it's in standard black. After delivering my little capricorn girl in January, I plan to get a standard black outline of a butterfly on my left ribcage to represent my transformation from womanhood to motherhood. I am a 3rd house Pisces Moon trine Pluto opposite Mars sextile North Node. IP: Logged |

Definitely, I have very pale/plutonian looking skin so my black tattoos have the appearance of being painted on marble. If I were to incorporate any other color, I would probably do a terracotta red. Something to give the impression of scar tissue. At one point I was considering getting a sub-dermal anchored spike mohawk, but the maintenance seem like too much. There is talk about carving spikes out of corral (which can fuse to your skull), but I don't want corral growing into my brain lol. IP: Logged |

In effect to bypass the scarification process? Always a good choice if you're not fond of that route but enjoy the look. Being pale does indeed have its advantageous side - vibrant tattoos. quote: Originally posted by Xiiro: There is talk about carving spikes out of corral (which can fuse to your skull), but I don't want corral growing into my brain lol.
Corral as in corral piping/fencing to keep livestock in a pen, or coral i.e. marine life? I'll take it that it's the latter, though do forgive me if I'm wrong. The talk of coral implants, are these breaching the surface layer? I've heard of early day subdermal implants made of such, but have yet to hear about coral spikes above the skin. Well now, them fusing to skull you say, how intriguing. I'm curious so of course I'll keep an eye and ear out. Oh and I don't blame you for not wanting anything fused to your skull. Talk about a commitment! I know it isn't coral and no similarity whatsoever but how sure you seem about not wanting the procedure strangely brought the visual of some hybrid facehugger xenomorph from "Aliens" attaching to a cranium and forming spikes in some fashion haha. In that picture, is that Samppa Von Cyborg by any chance? Looks like him. Off topic, but I have a friend that got transdermal horn implants by him last April and his workmanship is brilliant and they're still very much going strong. IP: Logged |

Actually, surgical scarification is something I find pretty. I like the clean lines that are so difficult to create with a brand or tiny arc welder. I don't think it would look good on me though, my scars tend to heal very well and blend into my skin. I just like the contrast of black with an earthy red, especially when tattoos are a mixture of organic and geometric. Tattoo artists hate me because I ask them to intentionally dig in (so the tattoo will raise off the skin). That is about as close to scarification as I get. I wish LCD tattoos would come out already. That mixed with all the bio-luminescence advances recently made could result in some crazy tattoos. http://bcove.me/t2emjpi3 I found this interesting, thought I wouldn't do this on myself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3qv2dSXQXk

LOL Awesome! yeah coral, it was early in the morning for me. quote: Originally posted by Cole: The talk of coral implants, are these breaching the surface layer? I've heard of early day subdermal implants made of such, but have yet hear about coral spikes above the skin.
I'm actually talking about the spikes breaching the skin. I heard it being talked about a while ago, but haven't been able to find info on it since. I can't imagine it would be easy to get those holes to heal... maybe cauterization? Dunno, but it all sounds a bit too experimental. quote: Originally posted by Cole: ..how sure you seem about not wanting the procedure strangely brought the visual of some hybrid facehugger xenomorph from "Aliens" attaching to a cranium and forming spikes in some fashion haha.
Funny, because the spikes I have always pictured are H. R. Giger-esque bone spikes with weird ridges and technorganic weirdness. quote: Originally posted by Cole: In that picture, is that Samppa Von Cyborg by any chance? Looks like him.
I think it is him. Glad to hear your friend's are working out. Nothing worse than a piercing or tattoo turning out bad.=) IP: Logged |
