Its depends with talent and artistic ability there is the whole tug between "Nature vs. Nurture" some abilities can be innate or genetic others can be developed. Innate talent would relate to the 4th house, 3rd house planets the ability to express those; communication, and the 5th house is essential the passionate house, the house of creativity.
As well as a good number of quintiles and bi-quintiles.Edit for aspects
Moon conjunct Asc
Mercury conjunct/ trine venus
Moon conjunct/trine Neptune.
Venus conjunct MC
Fifth and Seventh Harmonics chart would indicate talent as well.

Positive aspects between or with Moon, Venus, Neptune. Anything in Taurus for singing since this sign rules the throat, or Libra for artistic/musical talent in general. Things in the 1st, 7th, 10th, 12th house (1st is the self, 7th is naturally ruled by Libra, 10th is career, 12th is Pisces naturally.) This is just my logic, not necessarily fact. IP: Logged |

It really depends on the dance style. Ballet dancers would require a lot of fixed energy and fire. Regardless artists require ambition if they lack the ambition the innate talent would be wasted. This coming from someone who studied multiple art disciplines. IP: Logged |

I sing and I have Mercury in Leo in the 10th house as well as Sun and Venus (in Cancer) in the 10th house.

Neptune+Uranus trine my MC
Neptune as my 4th house ruler
Sun in Libra in the 10thand I was a river dancer and I am an artist, and a very talented writer. I love doing anything artistic, also I usually pick up instruments quite quickly, my latest is guitar. My family has many musical and artistic abilities but I am by far the most driven to make it a lifestyle from the Sun and MC aspects. My cousin has Venus in Pisces and
Moon in Cancer in the 10th
Sun in Taurus in the 8th square Neptune in the 5th and he is also very musically gifted, he plays piano so incredibly it's unbelievable that he is only 6 and doing Mozart and other classics with such dedication. IP: Logged |

I have:
Taurus rising - opposite it's ruler Venus in Scorpio.
Moon in Libra - sextile Sun (Sagittarius).
Mars in Leo in the 5th.
Neptune conjunct MC.
7th house - Jupiter/Mercury/Pluto conjunction and North Node. Scorpio stellium. Venus conjunct the DC by 1*, and Sun just barely over the 8th house cusp by a few minutes (and widely conjunct Pluto/Jup/Merc).
10th house - Neptune and Uranus, both conjunct MC.I'm planning to transfer to a communications school next fall. I really love theatre, film, and writing. I love singing and am pretty good at it but have never had the opportunity to get any private training so I wouldn't stand a chance in auditions against people who have. I've also tried my hand at writing music, and I'm not too terrible at that for a first try! IP: Logged |

I was thinking lot of fire and water in the chart?
And maybe mars in 8th or 12th house?
maybe even mars in nice aspects to neptune or uranus or pluto?
Also lot of piscean placements?
