Really? Hmm, ime earth signs nearly always have a side hustle if they are not rolling in dough, I can picture a less fortunate earth sign being big into antiquing at flea mkts and garage sales and spotting the nicest goods and knowing what they are worth. IP: Logged |

I could probably put up a store with all the stuff I got bored of or bought but never used!  Interesting I've noticed cancer influence to jack up prices.. Just cause it's theirs.. Like it's more expensive coz they chose it.. Period! IP: Logged |

I have my Venus in Taurus and yes i am very materialistic with myself. I dont judge other people for what they do or dont have, I am not shallow. However I love clothes, perfume, shoes, jewelry, make-up, the list can go on. I just like having things and alot of it, it makes me feel secure. IP: Logged |

I think earth signs can be materialistic... sometimes. It all depends on the chart at large. Like, I have my MC in an earth sign but it is widely conjunct my Moon, trine Neptune and Uranus, and sextile Pluto and Mars. I don't consider myself materialistic at all - especially because I have earth sign Uranus in my 2nd house. So despite having a major Earth planet + angle I am definitely not materialistic in the sense that my major life goal is $$$$$. On the other hand, I've seen Virgo and Taurus be very materialistic... someone I know had Virgo Mars in the 2nd trine a Taurus MC and they were all about practicality to earn $$$, his Sun was in Leo in the 12th square his MC...and he didn't want to pursue an artistic career because it wasn't 'realistic' enough even though he liked art. A relative has 3 Taurus planets, all opposed my natal Scorpio ones, and it really really grates on my nerves that they are a genuine, bonafide workaholic. Taurus influences made it an artistic-ish career... but still. It just bothers me since they don't try to explore much of anything else in life except providing. IP: Logged |

It depends on how you define materialism. What someone defines as adequate may not be what someone else regards as sufficient. Being brand conscious may be a quality driven proposition rather than a brand showing off quest. The devil is in the details. One thing I know for sure. I surround myself with the nicest things I can afford for the family, ensuring the highest possible lifestyle. I can't stand to do without, and compromising on lifestyle isn't what I consider to be a good life. IP: Logged |

I strive for success always looking to get ahead in my career.Not to buy extravagant things for myself but to provide for my family/loved ones.Me personally, I don't want anything, clothes, shoes, cars, jewelry. For my family, i want them to be taken care of and comfortable. I will gladly work 70 hour weeks and give the spoils to my family.

As a Capricorn Rising, I'd say yes I am materialistic to a degree.Financial security is VERY important to me. I will weigh financial risks very carefully before I invest in anything.I like material comforts.And if the time is not right to invest I will wait,(I do possess unmeasurable amount of patience in that domain) when I decide that I can invest my money into something that will bring me material comfort i will wait to make the necessary move. I like to be able to afford all the refined things in life, be it designer clothes,fashinable jewelery,expensive make up, good and refined food, etc and to provide same to my loved ones.But I do not like to boast about my financial achievements and I despise people who flaunts money infront of my face at every possible opportunity they have.I don't do it and I don't have respect for people who thinks that their money talks.This is a major irreversible turn off for me.IP: Logged |
