Topic: Honorary placements?

Okay, so ever since Capriquarius pointed out planets aspecting one another are "honorary" (for example Sun square Saturn would be like having a Capricorn sun, Moon trine Neptune - a Pisces moon, etc.) I've been doling out that advice too. But I don't know how the effects work. Would Sun square Saturn make someone behave like the negative qualities of a Capricorn sun, or what?IP: Logged |

And would Sun conjunct Saturn behave also as a Capricorn sun? also Mercury conjunct saturn and venus conjunct saturn? Because I was just working the aspects in my draconic chart. Guess what, Sun,Mercury and Venus and saturn are in capricorn-sagitarius axis.IP: Logged |

Odette mentioned this thread in my other post! Thank you for finding it! BUT one has yet to answer the question of what kind of attributes we receive from having honorary placements, and if the way it's aspected depends on that. IP: Logged |

I have sun square pluto which is like having sun in scorpio.I dont think I can behave like an evolved scorpio,square produces too much inner tension.I can be as vindictive as a scorpio but I dont think I will ever be able to forgive people like an eagle.With square there is constant inner battle,even if I may be able to evolve into that eagle someday I dont think I will be able to sustain it for a long time because square makes me change myself constantly either in negative way or positive way so one day I will be bound to change in negative way.I think it depends upon the type of aspect.IP: Logged |

So would you concede someone with Sun trine Pluto would be a more positive version of a Scorpio? Now I'm wondering if I'm looking at it all wrong. Trines are very easy energy, squares are more prominent and stronger...so maybe it's not a matter of positive vs. negative but more so prominence? IP: Logged |

^^Yeah,my friend has the sun trine pluto,he is lot more evolved than me.I think trine does not produce that inner tension so you can evolve lot more without disturbing your inner harmony.I agree that trines are easy energy so these people need to kicked up their backside to get them going but they have that inner peace which I dont think you can find in people with the squares at all,atleast not in my case.Squares have lot of potential but most of the time I think chances of reaching that potential is 50-50 and even if you reach it you still bring those negative traits along with you but with trines it seems if they dont get lazy they go smoothly.IP: Logged |

Does this work with synastry/attraction too? Like say me having a scorpio mars explaining why I'm usually always attracted to people with mars/pluto aspects? Or with my mars in 5th, I tend to be attracted to leo mars?IP: Logged |

Hmmmm, I think you can relate some qualities, but it's not THE SAME as having the sun in that sign.For exemple, I have sun square moon - but I don't have almost any cancer caracteristics. Sun square Saturn bring other qualities than transforming the person in a capricorn, like bringing hardship to it's life and then forcing this person to become more mature, but doesn't bring the capricornian sarcasm. ---What I do is add up factors in the chart for traits basically. If I want to get more specific about it at any given time, I add progressions and transits too. That's how it makes sense to me. ymmv ~

---I have the trine, I don't find -exactly similar- traits when comparing myself to the squares i've known, but still, you're combining sun & pluto. I don't face their intense battles on the solar level even tho I have sun 8th (2 pluto/sun factors). I reacted v.strongly to the transiting sq tho. was a wreck then. I dunno about the trines and sextiles.Am only thinking out loud here, so I may well be wrong, but when I took all the sextile and trines aspects in my chart and tried to relate the descriptions of those aspects to my life I think they represent more of a hidden/latent potential within us. The squares, oppositions and conjunctions are more character moulding types and are themselves a challenge to reckon with. I have quite an afflicted Uranus, Uranus (scorpio) sq ASC (capricorn), sq Saturn (leo), sq Venus (leo), sq mercury (leo), sq Sun (leo), and conjunct MC(libra). Sometimes I feel restricted by societal norms, I feel like breaking those norms just for the heck of it and then realised that am not restricted at all. I was stubbornly looking at it in the wrong angle. I think having so many squares to Uranus is a challenge to adjust to the devilish side of Uranus, especiall the sq to my asc which is capricorn. Saturn helps me to ground my thoughts so as not to self sabotage my life as a whole.Teaching me how to 'respect' authority is one way I have learned, because Uranus has his own way of respecting authority ( am not able to convey sarcasm here but this is loaded with sarcasm  because uranus has a total disregard for authority as a whole) The sq to my mercury makes me very eccentric in my thoughts, beliefs, way of talking,I have genius moments at times and I get easily irritated when people around me don't get it since for me it's so simple. I feel very Uranian, however when I do my pullen, I was surprised to find venus in the first position, saturn, and sun and THEN uranus, still in the first 5 top planets. My top first 3 signs are Leo, Libra and Scorpio.IP: Logged |
