thanks. now, what are the big three? im assuming that maybe this is what choc is stating: sun, moon and asc....and also, according to you, saturn. but why saturn?
wouldnt a saturn-moon connection restrict emotional displays and feelings in a couple?
going on....
what about neptune-moon contacts?

so, for example...
my moon is in taurus. his moon is in libra.
im scorpio sun, taurus rising, saturn in saggie.
he is gemini sun, capricorn rising, saturn in scorpio.
this is not enough, correct?
we have no major-good contacts with the exception of: his asc trine my moon, my saturn sextile his moon, his saturn opp. my moon, and, moon-moon quincunx.
no moon-moon trine/sextile/conjunction.

what is your opinion on moon square moon in the long-term?

i agree with you about sun connections not being everything.

Yep, the big three are Asc/Sun/Moon...it makes sense that Chocs parents would stay together as often times Sun/Moon Conjunction is found in the charts of married people. But again it depends on the nature of the contacted planet (like my example of an afflicted Moon...in that case what might work more for that individual would be Sun Trine Moon between partners).

Saturn is needed (but again this depends on the people involved...if you have an individual who has a high level of Uranus aspects but isn't strong on Saturn this wouldn't apply). But typically Saturn is needed as it's the planet that causes you to put in the work and try. Most marriages tend to have harsh Saturn aspects (such as the Square/Opp) because to truly have an adult relationship there is sacrifice and work involved. In fact I'm willing to bet if you look at some of your longest running relationships (even friendships...also look at aspects you have with your parents) there is strong Saturn going on. So that is just as important.

Off the bat you have two things going for you...the Asc Moon trine which is a great aspect to have!! And your Saturn Moon double whammy aspects. Now Saturn does include some restriction, inhibition, etc...however the whole point of any major Saturn (which includes your Saturn Opp Moon aspect) aspect is that if you put in the time and work that you can have a great relationship. It won’t be easy but it can be a good relationship. I will say though that Moon Inconjunct (Quincux) Moon is a terrible aspect to have. It’s literally like you two are on different wavelengths emotionally. I will say that you may not notice the difference and think you two get along (you both have Venus ruled Moons...so there is an affinity)...but look up the synastry of someone you have a Moon Moon Trine or Sextile to (even conjunction if you don’t have an afflicted Moon). And I’m willing to be that the comfort you feel with them is something that isn’t present with the Gemini, nor will ever be (and you’re a Taurus Moon...so I know you’re all about comfort lol...I’m a Taurus Venus so I get it). Moon Square Moon is also something that I don’t recommend for a long term relationship, especially if you intend on living together or nesting together. If it’s a friendship then it’s fine...but when it comes down to it most relationships are built on comfort and similarity. When people are on two different wave lengths it’s hard (this is just in terms of long term), so while anything can make it, most relationships that do indeed endure have strong Moon to the big 3 (as it’s the heart of anyone), and Saturn. This of course is simplistic.

Also for your Gemini where is his Venus and Mercury? He’s a Gemini Sun so his Sun’s ruling planet does matter.

so, a woman has to somehow make contact with his Moon with one of her big three's and vice versa?

My parents haven been together for half a century. My dad's Sun is in Scorpio conjuncts my mom's Moon, perhaps even her ASC, if her birthtime is correct. Also, his Sun conjuncts her NN and her Saturn squares his Moon [possible 7 deg. orb]

Yep, Sun/Asc/Moon

Well it doesn't have to really be the man who's Moon is only touched...ideally it would be both of them in a positive way to something. But at the end of the day the Moon for a man (and this is in the most basic simplistic way I could say it) represents the wife. But yeah I can see why they (if the above are correct) would stay together. Those are great aspects. And like I said before harsh Saturn is typically found in the charts of long time married couples...most ppl think Saturn is a really bad thing (and it can be when there is way too much...or a lot of it and not enough positive aspects between ppl)...but it can also reward you with a long term secure relationship.

I think the opposition is easier to reconcile than the square. When it comes to the opposition, the elements are compatible, while in the square, the elements are not compatible.

Say a guy had Moon in Aries opposite his Venus in Libra. If your Sun is in Aqua (or Gemini), it would make a trine to his Venus, and a sextile to his Moon. If your Sun is in a fire sign, it would trine his Moon and sextile his Venus.

ive never experienced sun/moon conjunction and i dont know how that would be...a scorpio moon with my chart...phew! sexy....

ive experienced moon trine moon, and i like it, it is def. very comfortable.
though, i have to admit, i always find that the emotional depth is missing for me. as much as im a taurus mooner (i have moon conjunct asc and moon opposite pluto too), and, i do get along very well with earth mooners, i always yearn an emotional depth, a transcendental feeling that i dont receive from other earth mooners, at all.

i agree with you about saturn. ive experienced saturn contacts, but never to the moon, and i was just wondering if saturn-moon isnt too restrictive, and maybe, something like saturn-venus or saturn-sun is easier for the couple.
gem and i have saturn conjunct venus in scorpio.
and my saturn in saggie opposes his sun, venus and mercury. ouch!

this is what ive heard, unfortunately.

him: mercury and venus in gemini. mars in scorpio.
me: mercury and venus in scorpio. mars in aquarius.

our synastry is here, just in case you're curious about other placements: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/217532.html

thanks for the tips.

i agree. at least, moon opposite moon is like the two sides of the same coin.
moon square moon....wouldnt know how to describe it, but, there is def more friction and the parties have a hard time finding a common ground.

I will say this is why the cookbook idea of Sun/Moon or Venus Conjunct Mars between two people is such a toss up. There is so much more to be taken in context in synastry. For instance with you...you need emotional intensity as a Scorpio, but also stability as a Taurus Moon. What I would suggest is trying someone with a compatible Moon...BUT who has strong Pluto. For instance I have a Cap Moon as well...and it's Square Pluto I do need passion. But I also have my Sun/Asc/Mars in the 1st that form a Yod between Jupiter and Uranus, and my IC is square Uranus.

So I also need an assertive (Aries/1st house), and free spirited and fun (Uranus/Jupiter) man who is sensitive (Cancer). The perfect combo for me is meeting a dear Aqua friend (we dated in the past...and I truly love this guy with every fiber of my being) who has an earth Moon in Virgo (we have an exact Moon-Moon Trine), Moon-Asc Conjunction, IC Moon Conjunction, Moon Venus Trine, and a Moon/Venus in the same sign. We also have a Sun/Saturn Square. He's an Aries Mars with Pisces Mercury and Venus in Cap. His Venus/Moon/Mercury all aspect Pluto, and our composite is full of Pluto aspects (including the Composite Moon in Scorpio in the 8th, and Composite Sun Opp Pluto). There is also double whammy Mercury/and Mars Pluto aspects between us. So that's where I get my Pluto passion from.

This is why it takes trial and error to truly find someone who is right for you. I'm not sure if this guy is truly the end all be all one for me...but I have known him for going on four years and I can firmly say that I would love to marry (and I don't even want to get married lol) this man...obviously he's an Aqua I'm not going to tell him that lol.

hahaha..maybe im a ball of contradictions.
ive interacted with people with strong pluto, and the relationships are volatile at best. yes, there is the intensity, and passion.
but then, the taurus moon and aquarius mars want peace, quite...all laidback
lots of power struggles. in relationships, i need to 'dominate'. i cant have another plutonic person wanting to take too much charge.
i think they make for great friends but when things become very intimate...it can be too much *drama* later on.

Honestly you have to find someone who is a ball of contraditions as well. I get where you are coming from. We are both Water Suns and Earth Moons, and you have your Mars in Aqua I have my Mars in Cancer Inconjunct Jupiter and Uranus...so we are similar (plus I have a Taurus Venus in 11th, and my IC is Square Uranus). But I think that's why I adore the Aqua as much as I do. His only Air placement is his Sun, and from there his Asc/Venus in Cap Conjunct Neptune, his Mercury is in Pisces, and his MC is in Scorpio (so he is Watery...it's his predominant element), but also Earthy, and Fire influenced as well.

What would indicate that in a chart?

Moon-Venus hard aspects are the first thing that comes to mind. Possibly moon-mars as well. There is a difficulty at least for the men to be satisfied by the reality of having a single spouse embodying body the Madonna and the wh-ore resulting in a very critical view towards woman who embody both characteristics yet still craving each archetype in different women.

Although the topic discussion went further than the original question! (By the way i really like the things i learnt about the moon )

I'm posting my natal chart here, so anyone who could take a look and explain my original question, would be great help!

Why can't a really combine sex and love? Meaning why I feel more free to express myself sexually when I don't have strong love feelings for the other person, but I have strong feelings of lust for them?
