Okay I should specifiy....I do feel a rigid feeling in verbal conversation where there is no flow at times(Mercury conjunct Saturn perhaps.) And written communication is more flowing for me. I cannot really do small talk at all unless I can be sort of....satirical about it or....there are puns, irony, wordplay involved. But I can cover it up and others will not know it's there however it won't be comfortable for me on the inside and I will need some air. IP: Logged |

Ahhhh man I hate sign bashing but in my own experience, some people that I've known that have Aries Mercury are chronic "cutter off-er-rers" lol. These 4 people cannot let other people get a word in. As soon as you speak, they are cutting you off!------------------ Gemini Sun Libra Moon Gemini Mercury Cancer Venus Virgo Mars Virgo Asc And yes, I'm a guy! IP: Logged |

OH MY GOOOOO! I was seriously about to make a thread about this concerning my Sag interest. I mean I don't know what his deal is, because in person all the Sags I've met are very lively and conversational but this kid isn't. All our conversations revolve around him. In the beginning it was about me and him both, then a little of me and him and then all him. Here's our convo: "Sigh." Me: "What does that mean?" "Idk." Me:"Ok." "Wyd" Me: "I haven't decided yet." "Ouch." Me: "Ouch?" "Kiss?" Me: "Me?" "Yeah" Me: "I thought we were only pen pals." (because it's going SO well...) "Aren't we?" Me: "Yeah." OH MY GO. I WANT TO RIP MY HAIR OUT. He has Mercury in Scorpio.

Seconding this. To me, it seems as if they take in everything and quietly process it. Meanwhile, you're the one talking while they sit there and nod or look at you. Great listeners though, which I appreciate. As for Mercury-Saturn, I have the conjunction and I do prefer to write/type things out since I have a chance to think about what I'm going to say. However, I've gotten better at impromptu conversation over the years. I can generally keep the conversation going unless I'm feeling nervous and awkward. What I do hate however, is small talk. I used to think that I was a really bad conversationalist, I mean I could come up with replies but they always seemed forced, liked I'd be wracking my brain for what to say in return whilst listening to someone talking then I realised it had nothing to do with me.. these certain people just liked to hear themselves talk and weren't really interested in what I had to say anywaythese days i just listen to the babble and nod I have mercury trine neptune and uranus in the 3rd house as well as sextile ascendant (not sure how this comes into play..) What about this convo Me: "Hi'' Him: "Hi'' Me: ''How are you? How was your day?'' Him: ''Fine, You? (I understood he said fine to both questions) Me : ''Yeah great, guess what? I met B today'' ( B happens to be a mutual relative) Him : ''Oh? Cool.'' Me: "So what have you been up to today?'' Him : "work" Me : ''Okay'' Him : ''Okay" Me : ''so?'' Him : ''SO?'' Me :''What shall we talk about?'' Him :'' How's the weather at your place?'' *am like WTH!* My cheerful, enthusiastic, sunny, lively attempt at making conversation is taking a serious hit by then.. Yeah, Mercury, Moon, Mars and Sun in cap. He likes to write small Morse coded messages. Chats? Not his thing. IP: Logged |

It depends on the person. I'm not a talkative person by nature but if I see that the other person is and there's fluidity in the conversation, then I can manage to come up with topics.IP: Logged |

Exactly! That's what normal people do. They don't just answer questions, not ask you anything, but still want your attention. That's weird and a waste of time in my opinion and I don't get it. IP: Logged |

In my case at least - that would be Moon Square ASC... though, I'm getting better at it with practice. ------------------ [☼ ► ♊ ... ☾ ► ♈ ... Ⓐsc. ► ♋] New Skins/Themes for Linda-Goodman forum IP: Logged |

My cousin has Mercury-Pluto conjunct in Scorpio. It seems like it takes a lot of energy for him to carry a conversation. He gets a lot of "What?" and "Huh?" from people because he mumbles constantly. Generally when communicating he'll respond by shrugging his shoulders or nodding his head so he doesn't have to talk.IP: Logged |

I knew a Virgo once with Virgo Mercury (sextile Pluto, trine Neptune/Uranus)and conversations were so one sided. Omh a conversation can only go so far when it's you asking questions or talking about yourself. And it wasn't just me either! He'd only ever make an effort with like this one chika he liked who rejected him for like, ever. IP: Logged |

I completely get what you're all saying with Cap & Virgo Merc.. I've had the same experience there. But Scorpio Mercs usually write a LOT... They write stories, poems.. They chat at length.. They don't cut things short. :\ Often when I talk to a Scorp Merc we end up talking for hours and hours. Maybe it's the Merc2Merc trine? I assumed they were always like this. IP: Logged |

there is truth to this. I say that b/c some do not want to have a conversation for a number of reasons. My Saggie sun in me means I can strike up a conversation with a corpse, however there is also times when people..especially women..just do not want to talk. Normally I can hold a conversation with nearly anyone, however over time I've learned sometimes people just want to be left alone to their thoughts. IME, this is why people go to coffee shops or libraries to read a book. IP: Logged |

So how does one get him to open up (like come alive in a conversation)? IP: Logged |

I'm not sure what you mean. His Mercury and Pluto are both between 7-8 degs in scorp, conjuncting eachother almost exact. IP: Logged |
