Lilith is an extremely misunderstood figure, imho... way over-demonized. Lilith cnj Dsc (BM Lilith, True Lilith, Natural Lilith) Pisces 6-7h W. (DARK MOON) Lilith - Taurus h9 Lilith #1181 - Libra h2 BM Lilith - square IC/MC, square NN/SN, Venus, Baachus, Apophis, (obv) opp Asc, Pandora, Sirona, Destinn, BAM~ cnj Ceres, Charis, Lucifer, Devota, Desdemona (#666), Bilkis~ sxt Psyche, Mercury, Kaali, Medusa, Dodona, Imperatrix (Capricorn h5)~ tri Mars, Pluto, Athene, Proserpina *H*(h3 Scorpio)~ sxt Juno, Sedna, Sappho, PoF, W. (DM) Lilith, Gaea, Ask, Chaos~ (Taurus h9)~ tri Child, Astraea, Ceto, Atalante, Ganesa, Jovita, Brage, Prosperin, Undina, Raman, Akrishnan (Cancer h11) Lilith 1181 - square Psyche, Mercury... etc (Capricorn h5) cnj Deucalion, Bella, Latona, Metis, Artemis opp Bal, Phaethon, Hagar, Puccini, Lameia, Thia tri MC, sxt IC W. DM Lilith - already mentioned its cnj ^^; opp Mars, Pluto (Scorpio h3)~ tri Mercury, Psyche (Capricorn h5)~ tri Asc~ squares~ Vertex/Antivertex, Atropos, Chandra, Angel, Sado, Medea, Orcus, Lachesis, Clotho, Ptah, Phoinix,Iris, Pallas~ ~etc~ Synastry w/ husband... lol this guy has his Liliths cnj my Sun and Mercury/Psyche (his Osc Lilith is cnj the Mercury-Psyche, which also has his Ceres cnj them, and his Venus and Mercury)~ his 1181 Lilith is cnj my W.DM Lilith >.>; his Liliths fall entirely into my 5th... both being Virgo Rising... 1st decan me with 3rd decan him~ that makes it his 4th house... ^^ Is his wife a total "Biotch", and is he addicted to the punishment...?! my W.DM and his asteroid Lilith lay within his 8h (my 9h)... ruled by Aries~ our Marses square exact. ^^; we both have Aries on the cusp of the 8h, but mine is all Aries, his is mostly Taurus~ /sigh (what a difference in 8h matters, his 8h cusp squares his Liliths/my Sun exact) bleh we already have strong synastric aspects... besides the squared Marses... we have his Pluto-Saturn (his Pluto is still in Libra tho) conjunction - conjunct - my Mars-Pluto in Scorpio~ his 2nd house, my 3rd~ Our DW Eros/Psyche combination (his Scorpion Psyche exact sxt my Capricorn Psyche, my Scorpion Eros-Saturn exact sxt his Capricorn Eros) ~sigh~ ...we really ought to get on better... ne? his Moon-Jupiter in Scorpio opposite my Moon-Chiron(his Chiron, only ~2 yrs age diff, lol) polarities... >.< We haven't ended yet... though often I wish we would. Sexually, intimacy was our strong point in the beginning... but, I react very poorly to those strong Solar conjunctions in synastry... In fact... my exbf... the extremely abusive one... 4 years with him... his Liliths (and Venus) also conjunct my Sun... (10 years age differences) lol His W. DM Lilith only cnj my IC, (wide) Uranus (opp MC) tho... but his asteroid Lilith fell on a critical point... cnj my Pholus, Eris, (Prinz), and trine my SN-Venus (therefore sxt my Vesta/NN) ~ we were a bloody carnival of drama, trauma, and tears... Maybe it was his Taurus Ascendant... (was opposing my Mars-Pluto exact, but cnj Juno-Sappho-W. DM Lilith) ~we were opposition heavy.... probably contributed to the back and forth violence, and magnetism. Can't say if it was the Liliths there... but, I do feel like we could have done without them... :/ Synastry with Liliths involvement has so far proven to be -extremely negative- for me... I can confidently say, I prefer as few contacts between Liliths with people as possible. XD

Could someone kindly explain what my Lilith means in simple words please? Is it meaningful only to women? Or does it apply to me too? Mine in 9th House in Scorpio, very wide conjunct Neptune. My wife has in 12th House in Gemini, very wide conjunct Moon. Very confused. IP: Logged |

^ Yes it does if we like it or not everyone has both masculine and feminine energy. Some individuals have excess of either. I think its important to find balance. I think of lilith is prominent in a mans chart that would add strong feminine energy. Especially conjunctions and trines. Like excess of moon or venus can make a guy wimpy. Lilith would not make a man feel weak or girly but really empower him and respect feminine energy and all its power. I thats a good word to describe lilith self empowermentIP: Logged |

Saturnine, of all three Liliths, which one proved to be most potent and most felt in your synastry? I am zooming in on BML but i wondered how strong is the asteroid Lilith in comparison with BMLIP: Logged |

to me the Black Moon is the uncompromising unyielding devotion to my truth, the surrendering to very primal and raw instinctual and emotional nature. It is not to be taken lightly though, cause she is not "domestified", and her rage (if someone wants to MAKE her yield to social norms or something like that) can be very destructive and self-destructive. There is actually a reason why we have social conventions; but that is not the natural world of the Black Moon. IP: Logged |

Thank you very much. But I'm still trying to figure out what 9th House in Scorpio means. All I get is generic crap like big on sexual energy etc etc. Still don't understand what it means in my chart. Yes, I have a heavy feminine presentation in my personality. And also I have some attraction to danger. I guess I should rethink the fast driving.

I am a Cancer Sun, Venus, Mercury, Saturn with Lilith in Aries. If he asked me to marry him tomorrow I'd say yes without blinking! p.s. I do also have Eris in Aries.. IP: Logged |

ail & Ceridwen ~ I find the combination of Liliths are the most potent, the fewer/wider the contact the less it is felt. Asteroid Lilith is less personal, and not extremely fast either, (though I don't recall her motion/speed)... to me, she's just as important as her other forms, they're like shards of the same mirror... each reflects something back about ourselves~ she's just too powerful of a figure to be contained in one spot... ^____^ =x lol In synastry, the only time I can say the Lilith connection didn't end up being a crucial influence over the failing of my relationship with someone (far as I have astro-data for), is with the one person I came closest to loving... his W.DM Lilith was cnj my Eros-Saturn in Scorpio, his True Lilith was cnj my Mars-Pluto... so these Liliths made contact (sxt/tri) to my own Liliths... perhaps that is why? I can't be sure... feel like charlie on this one... he was... everything I could ever ask for in a partner, and then some. ^^; (but the number of connections go further than I ever have the dedication to get into on here! HAHA though I've wanted to have our synastry/composites read for a long time... reality is it can never be again. ; ; next life, maybe~ haha) *evertheoptimist* otherwise, those with their Liliths cnj my Sun were ABSOLUTE hell on me... (though with husband, I suspect it's his Juno being so tightly cnj that is the real problem with the energy turning into an ever suspicious, oppressive, and jealous sort...) but, with both my ex and husband having the same cnj to it, comparing them... it's kinda like how the article ail posted reads, but I'd go a step further... it's like the Liliths here are robbing the Sun of its light because they "feel" they deserve it. It's like they feed off of it in some way. Very draining relations... I'm careful with Lilith, she's just one of those figures in astro... I feel like her and Eris are given little separation in function... which contradicts my experience with both. lol Lilith to me is a person's integrity, where they'll not deter from what they feel and believe in... her house(s) are important, because those are areas we demand, and actively seek our own independence. (to have our own way, too, or at least be heard, have a say...) but, that could be just me... HAHA - I do have her conjunct Lucifer in my chart... in my house of relationships... I believe strongly in respecting others, but it's a fine line, and disrespecting me or someone I care about is a serious offense in my world -plus- I have issues with those who expect me to play a role I'm not fit for, or due... I don't demand homage or anything silly like that from partners... but, I will not tolerate subjugation. ^^; 'specially with my Mars-Pluto opposite Juno. I'd still guess that those with Lilith in the 7th are very aware of and demanding of this independence from their partners, and perhaps they'd also be obsessive with preserving their own dignity in relationships with everyone... expecting the same respect as everyone else... just like this... maybe???? (other houses would each have their own point of interest/issue to which they won't back down/change). Or my husband... dire as our relations are today... I respect his beliefs that "family" is the most important thing in the world... everything in his chart circles around being a family man, and providing for his family, loyalty to his family... Lilith in his 4h, makes perfect sense to me in this way... you won't break him of his beliefs in family... (he comes from an extremely close, old fashioned, 2nd generation Canadian, Portuguese family.) ~ Lilith is about the cause in our hearts that we are born to defend vehemently if needed, and when expected to go against it/do otherwise, we refuse, no matter the cost. She's the untamed, divine feminine energy... sacred sexuality, and incorruptible, raw power... yes... sometimes dark and destructive... her other half would be Priapus, and her opposite may be WM Selene. ^^ ~ Eris... well, she's another story... she's an attention wh$re, and a brat... instigating feuds, bold and brash, androgynous energies... reveling in confrontation... etcetc... so very different, yet they're both /nearly/ synonymous by most astro-interpretations. /sigh ^ just me and my weird caught betwixt Sagittarius-&-Capricorn Mercurial-Jupiterean-Neptunian thoughts... XD sorry for babbling~ ^^; IP: Logged |

Oh yeah, I posted about Lilith on another thread a while back. I’ll repost what I wrote here.************* I’ve just started taking more of an interest in The Black Moon Lilith, and here’s the impression that I’ve got so far… The Black Moon is the apogee of the Moons orbit, the point that is farthest from the earth. While the Moon itself represents something safe and familiar that gives us a feeling of security, the point of orbit for the Moon that is farthest form the earth itself (The Black Moon Lilith) is more like an anti-Moon… And opposite to the Moon in symbolism in many ways… It represents something dark, scary, and unknown but also fascinating. In terms of image for women, the Moon represents what type of girl feels safe, familiar, nurturing, and vulnerable to a guy… Basically the good girl that he can trust, wants to marry, and protect and take care of… The girl who will (in theory) respect, and look up to him… The Moon supports the Sun and follows his lead… She is the Mother/Wife archetype…. Trusted, known, safe, innocent… (Now if a guy has a challenged Moon, his idea of what feels ‘safe’ and ‘familiar’ about a girl might be messed up… But that’s a whole other thread). Lilith is the opposite… The women who is unfathomable, dangerous, rebellious and sexual… Here, rather then the Wife/Mother (Moon), or even the Beautiful Maiden/Girlfriend (Venus)… You have the mistress, the forbidden lover, the hooker, the ’bad girl’, and the manipulative witchy vixen…. A women who’s unpredictable, mysterious, and probably into something dark or taboo… Like black magic… She might be a scandalous b!tch… And yet she has an unattainable kind of allure about her… She’s like a guilty pleasure…. In terms of women’s roles… The Moon is the girl a guy wants to protect, Venus is the fair beauty the he goes wild for, Neptune is ethereal glamour ideal that enchants him… And if the Lilith does say something about a guys taste in women, it probably relates to what type of girl is like a secret guilty pleasure for him… Bewitching, but dangerous or unattainable somehow. Ha ha. There are few songs that come to mind right now in relation to The Black Moon Lilith energy… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAJxOU13SKk All American Rejects - ‘Dirty Little Secret’ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9qeJskx6r0 Black Sabbath - ‘Evil Women’ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkKxGzm98AU Edwyn Collins - 'A Girl Like You' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMAo0m4E4Lc Atlanta Rhythm Section - Spooky (This version is sung by men which seems more appropriate then the Dusty Springfield one) If you have Lilith synastry with someone it makes sense that in a way the Lilith person would seem like a dark temptation to the planet person. When someone aspects your Lilith they 'activate' this side of you, and they can pick up on the energy you're giving off... On the other hand... When you aspect someone else's Lilith you 'activate' this energy for them, so their planet/point may effect you in a Lilith kind of way... I don't think Lilith always refers to the mistress (but she definitely can), so much as she seems to refer to a women who is darkly attractive but also unattainable... Or even just a women with a creepy, spooky vibe about her... She makes him suspicious, she keeps him on his toes, and he wonders what she's thinking. She's exciting and dosen't reveal all her secrets. And he may find her tempting on an erotic level. My thoughts are that when a guy has his Lilith aspected in synastry it contributes to him finding her intriguing, and erotically exciting. And that when a women has her Lilith aspected she tends to act out this type of role for him... So regardless of who has their Lilith aspected it would create a similar effect. Unless, of course, the male in the relationship takes on a Lilith role... In which case, he may seem difficult to figure out and yet frustratingly attractive at the same time. In each relationship depending on the rest of the synastry, and where the individual people are at, we need to use our own observation and common sense to figure out exactly how the energy is playing out. ************** Hopefully this was useful. Basically BML is like an Anti-Moon (BML is calculated according the the Moon's orbit, the point of orbit that's farthest from the earth.) The Moon has to do with women... So, the Moon itself represents the women that's safe, known, familiar, and compassionate (Like our mom, if the Moon position is healthy) Vs the women that's unknown, mysterious, spooky, dangerous, and outraged... The Black Moon Lilith (As a counter point to Mom, think of Lilith as maybe Dad's mistress, or wanna be mistress, who had just been cast aside.... And she ain't happy about it! She is capable of dark things our mom wouldn't even dream of). I don't mean the Mom Vs mistress thing literally, though. This is just an example of the type of 'energy' we're dealing with when it comes to Lilith. While the Moon is our image of women-hood as innocent, safe, wholesome, trusting, and chaste rather then sexual, Lilith, by contrast, is outraged, secretive, manipulative, cunning, and sexual. She is the Anti-Moon. Think of why the Moon is said to be exalted in stable, straightforward, affectionate Taurus, and in her fall in complex, secretive, intimacy-craving Scorpio. Most people don't like to think of Mom as a sexual person, but rather as someone who is stable and consistent in her behavior, who rubs your back, gives you big hugs, and nourishes you with good food. I Think if the Moon is exalted in Taurus, then Lilith is exalted in Scorpio. Interestingly, Uranus is said to be exalted in Scorpio. In a way Lilith is a similar to a female counter-part to Uranus. Uranus is the masculine rebel archetype (Although a women with strong Uranus in her chart can certainly embody Uranus traits), and Lilith is a feminine rebel archetype. The difference being that Uranus is objective in it's reasoning, while Lilith is an emotionally driven creature. Lilith's rebellion comes from outrage at being forced into some kind of mold which doesn't naturally fit, or is undesirable to her. As a result of this outrage she may rebel by doing unthinkable things, and by going against the grain of what's considered socially acceptable and morel behavior. Lilith in the natal chart may indicate where we reject people's expectations of us, in favor some type of freedom. It can also indicate where we feel rejected, not due to our own choosing, but because we are simply incapable of living up to others expectations in the way that they'd like. Associated with these scenarios are often feelings of rage, frustration, and even humiliation at being misunderstood, and not being able to measure up. After the initial pain had been experienced, Lilith then becomes a cunning and crafty creature, willing to use all kinds of means to set things 'right'. Depending on how 'evolved' the person is, these means can range from selfish manipulation and revenge (The Dark Path), to acceptance, and cleverly finding a way to rise above their challenges with dignity (The Light Path). In a way Lilith is similar to Chiron as well. Chiron is our inner sore point we're we feel broken, or frail. And we are often inspired by this inner sore point, to learn new and innovative ways of healing and dealing with our pain... Till we are something of an expert in the subject of whatever causes our pain. Lilith's position in our chart can also point to a sort of inner wound in our psyche. This is maybe where we have been rejected in someway for not fitting a mold, or reaching acceptable standards. However, unlike Chiron who is philosophical and wistful about his 'wound', Lilith is pi$$ed off! She is a women scorned in every sense of the word, and may lash out in her aggravation. With a Lilith 'wounding' we have a choice. Will we take the dark path… Have an immature reaction and throw a tantrum, use morally questionable and dark methods to set things ‘right’, or exact revenge. Or will we take the light path, accept our realties with maturity and vision, and then look to find a constructive solutions to our situation. I think the test for a person with strong Lilith influences is weather or not they are able to handle the dark side of their natures, and keep resentment and anger from driving them to act out in unhealthy ways. Are we going to let our jealousy, outrage, anger, and resentment, get the better of us? This is Lilith type question. When things don’t go our way, or we make a choice that goes against people’s expectations of us, the reaction from others can be very negative. Are we willing to bear this reaction with grace, or will our wounded pride cause us to have a meltdown over it. Going back to analogies, along with Uranus and Chiron, Lilith undeniably has certain similarities to Pluto as well. She is in touch with the dark side of human nature, especially from a feminine perspective. When we are rejected, found unacceptable, denounced, ridiculed, or humiliated, there is always a temptation there to lash out in a vengeful way. To say ‘Screw You!‘ to the world. This reaction is like that of an angry animal when cornered against a wall. It’s primitive and emotionally based. Lilith can be quite crafty and secretive about her methods, but the inner force that drives her can be like that of a petulant child. Angry, biased, and selfish. Lilith also has to do with turning to dark forces to get your way. Shameless manipulation, the use of sexuality and wiles to control others, and even things like black magic and sorcery. Lilith secretly schemes ways to set events to her liking, and at her darkest point will be utterly ruthless in carrying out her plan. This is the BML in it’s most negative form. She is very like a female Pluto in this way. I think the BML by nature is crafty and secretive. She is the mysterious part of the Moons orbit farthest from our home on Earth. But when we choose to take the light path in response to our Lilith-wound, instead the dark path… Rather then being a destructive force in our life, our Lilith placement is more like our private ally, or strategist. Our Lilith placement shows where we are clever and cunning in how we figure things out. We can use our Lilith cunning to navigate through all kinds of sticky situations in life, and learn when to wisely pick our fights, and when to walk away or accept. Lilith has a way of learning all kinds of secrets, and like consulting with a private council (our BML position), we can use this kind of inside information, and insight to determine the best course of action… Not just for ourselves, but for all others concerned. The light path to our Lilith position is also about being able to handle rejection or disapproval with grace and dignity rather then blind rage. When we are confronted with rejection and disapproval it’s always a test to keep our wounded pride at bay, and maintain our equilibrium. The more positive version of the BML, is that of a independent, resourceful, and clever women, who knows secrets and is a helpful ally on the side of good. She is fascinating and knowledgeable because she has chosen an unlikely path, and she walks this path her head held high, even in the face of ridicule. She is the epitome of grace under fire, and the clever and ethical application of secret knowledge and insights. She is a regal lady who knows her own strength, and is a force to be reckoned with. When we pay attention to our Lilith postion in our natal charts, sometimes we see our Lilith in ourselves. And sometimes we see our Lilith externalized by people and situations in our lives. For example, if we have the Moon conjunct Lilith, we may be that way ourselves, or we may find that perhaps our mother was rather Lilith-like. Maybe she made us nervous, and we weren't quite sure of her sometimes. *** Another thing to take into consideration is that the Lilith that appears in our charts, from the drop-down list on astro.com is actually an averaged calculation of the BML's movement. If you put h13 in the space for additional objects (where we usually put asteroids), we'll get Osculating Lunar Apogee ("True" Lilith / Black Moon) which is a more exact calculation of the BML's location at the moment of our birth. It is said to be more 'true' then the averaged Lilith position. My averaged BML is at 27 Gemini in the 7th house, opposite my Venus in the 1st house at 29 Sagittarius. My Osc BML is at 5 degrees Cancer in the 7th house, opposite my Sun at 5 Capricorn in the 1st house. Either way BML would be a pretty big player in my chart. I’m wondering if people out there have noticed a difference between their Osc BML and their averaged BML. Does Osc BML ring as more ‘true‘?

It can mean something for men. A guy with a strong BML in his chart will either experience Lilith-like women, or act out a Lilith-like role himself. I'm one of those that thinks the men can act Lilith-like sometimes too. I mean, women can act out their Mars, so men can certainly act out their Lilith on occasion. Oh, and Lilith has is about how and where we handle the rejection and disapproval that occurs when we rebel against social norms, or are unable to fit these social norms. Will we handle this with dignity and grace, or will we lash out with outrage and resentment? She also is about how we can use insight and secret knowledge for our own benefit, or the benefit of others. In terms of women's images, Lilith is the opposite of the Moon (comforting, safe, and familiar). A Lilith type female is unpredictable, secretive, a little bit spooky, and potentially dangerous. But also fascinating. I went into more detail about this in my above post. If the Moon is the Wife/Mother stereotype, then Lilith is the Femme Fatale or 'bad girl' stereotype.

I find the true BML to be the most potent (osc), also because theoretically I prefer any true position to one that is averaged out (I am using the true nodes as well, though the difference can be greater with BML).However, the mean BML often seems very descriptive as well, which puzzles me a lot. But it is there too often to just dismiss it as coincidence. Maybe there is a thing to that BML-corridor. I find that while the asteroid Lilith works (like asteroids do), it is a totally different "beast". It is an asteroid after all, while the Black Moon really is a calculated point, highlighting the relationship (or one possible relationship) between Sun, Moon and Earth (the other point or axis that is highlighting a relationship between Sun, Moon and Earth is the lunar nodal axis).
I definitely pay more attention to BML than to the asteroid Lilith, and see them as different.
However, on darkstar astrology Marina has some really great articles on Lilith.
I seem to react strongly to true BML in synastry. And for some reason Bml-Bml-aspects. Of the two guys who drive me crazy, the first one has his BML and Mars in Scorpio in my 12th house squaring my BML. The second one has his BML on the cusp of my 9th house EXACTLY opposite my own BML (with my BML being conjunt his Priapos, no I am not going to get into that right now ).
Curiously just today Tr Sun is conjunct my true BML by just half a degree (both on 28 Aquarius).

quote: Originally posted by Lotis White: Oh yeah, I posted about Lilith on another thread a while back. I’ll repost what I wrote here. **************Hopefully this was useful. Does Osc BML ring as more ‘true‘?
 love that!

Great info! Thanks Lothis and Ceri.Averaged BML works for me, to a tee. "True" BML aspects do not ring true for me. IP: Logged |

Yeah Saturn dampers things especially since Saturn restraints and Lilith is very being is about not being restrained. Sounds like a ticking time bomb Actually I had Lilith-Mars conjunction and Eros/Psyche/asc- conjunct Lilith, Lilith opp Lilith in synastry before and wow that was just too much for me. Personally I find mean Lilith (additional options) Lilith contacts in natal and synastry the most obvious, sort of the way we wear our ascendants. True Lilith is more of our core like our sun signs. An interesting way to look at it. To be honest, while I can see how both are in effect, if I had to pick one, it would always be true BML. Luckily noone forces me to pick one. IP: Logged | |
