I already posted an analysis on Scarlett O'Hara a while back
so I won't post a analysis but will just state I hold my opinion 100% that she is definitely a Scorpio with a Moon in Aries and probably has a Pisces Rising. Sorry Linda but there is no way Scarlett is an Aries going by Margaret Mitchell's story. I definitely agree movie counterpart is undoubtedly an Aries
but book Scarlett? NO WAAAAAAAAAAY.
But here are brief analysis of the other characters (based on the book).
Rhett Butler
Taurus with a Leo Moon and Scorpio Rising
Scorpio Rising is obvious early in the story. The way Rhett openly mocks the Southern gentlemen at Ashley's BBQ party for their arrogance and naivety of believing the South would win the war while ignoring the fact the South doesn't even have the infrastructure to produce armaments nor does it have the necessary manpower to keep up with the North's expanding population. Out in the middle of everyone's face in the party.
Furthermore, prior to that he was revealed to have insulted a lady, calling her a "stupid fool" and then klling her insulted brother in a duel without any remorse.
He was reputated as a hated outcast in his home town Charleston. His family disowned him because of his wicked nature early in his adult years, and Rhett had to struggle to survive so many hardships that would destroy most people.
Later in the story he continues mocking the Southern Cause and Southern culturea s a whole publicly. He gets involved in multiple crimes including war profiteering, stealing government gold reserves, and murdering at least two more people in the story.
After Scarlett committed adultery late in the plot, he would become drunk and rape her out of anger. Many times he and Scarlett try to reconcile, his sharp tongue gets the better of him and worsens the relationship. He would openly insult Scarlett and threatened her several times with physical violence during their marriage (to be fair Scarlett herself was equally responsible for his violent temperament). When Bonnie dies in the horseback riding accident, he kills the pony she was riding out of pure fury.
He is the architypical Scorpio physical description-dark skin, dark hair, and muscular. He is taller than the stereotypical Scorpio Riser (at least 6 feet) but all in all his appearance is Scorpio.
Leo Moon-he is described throughout the story as dashing. At first girls were all finding him a sexy charmer when he was smuggling arms into the confederacy (until he begins to openly bash the Confederacy and the War as a stupid worthless cause).
Later after the war he begins to mellow down and assimilate into Southern society for Bonnie's sake, practically every women in Atlanta found him a charmer and even with the memory of his criminal anti-patriotic nature, they gradually grew fond of him to the point when he started becoming nasty again after Bonnie died they rather felt sorry for him instead of finding him revolting.
Indeed even before reforming, he was described as a lady's man outside of the South.
Despite being outcasted by his family, Rhett holds affection for his mother. His mother is the only one who still loved him after becoming the Black Sheep of his family, and Rhett does his best to provide his mother with basic necessities.
I'm convinced he's a Taurus. As violent as he could be, he's actually pretty calm about containing his anger (except with Scarlett). By the time Bonnie's born, he begins to have that fatherly figure image. He treats Wade with such affection as though he was his son despite the fact Wade was born to one of Scarlett's previous husbands. At that point in the story, he really begins reforming to become the proper "Southern Gentleman". He showers Bonnie with such fatherly love that any daughter can only wish for.
Thats not even adding all the patience Rhett had as he tried to bear with Scarlett, understanding and loving her all the way till the end of the story.
By the time he decides to divorce Scarlett and leave, he tells Scarlett that perhaps he'll go back to Charleston and try to make peace with his people as he began to understand after being a father the value of honor and tradition.
His patience with Scarlett is not only proof of probably being a Taurus but all the more is more evidence he is a Leo Moon. He truly loved Scarlett so much that he was willing to sacrifice everything for her and possibly even murder someone previously married to her.
He shown such passionate love that if only she had returned it, he would have worshipped her as a Goddess (
Leo Moon). Oh I can't even post anymore because to further describe his love for Scarlett on the surface is impossible without a copy of Gone With the Wind in my hands, but I guarantee you only the Leonine male could shower such a feiry passionate love towards a woman.
Rhett undoubtedly has a Leo Midheaven. Before the war he managed to become a successful business man and with a combination of shrewd unscrupulous business skills and the Civil War, he becomes one of the richest men in Atlanta after the war.
Well thats all for tonight, going to sleep now but I'll continue tomorrow!
Just to state what I think the basic 3s are for some other characters I've decided so far.
Ashley Wilkes:Sagittarius or Capricorn with Libra Rising and Moon in Pisces.
Melanie Hamilton:Cancer with a Capricorn Rising (not sure what to put as Moon Sign yet but I'm leaning towards Pisces or Cancer).
