My Aquarius Mercury is in the 6H.Most of my books are about... (can you guess?? ) alternative medicine. Doesn't that make perfect sense? Does your book collection match your Mercury? IP: Logged |

I have Gemini Mercury in 9th house and my books are all about brain teasers, puzzles, travels, transportation, and food/restaurant reviews. I'm obsessed with reading receipts, cereal boxes, instruction manuals, recipes, and LOVE newspapers. From the time I was 8 to 17, I had kept a scrapbook of amusing pictures and articles. When I was 15 and read The Stranger by Camus (in the original French), I bonded with the main character that he kept a book of amusements too! I had been obsessed with pathology and serial killers since I was 4 (my older brother died at that time) and I've been fascinated and liked reading about diseases and serial killers pretty early on in life. Because I have domicile Mercury, I love the internet so I am an informationaholic on the internet. Wikipedia is my Achilles heel and biggest time waster. I'm probably one of the few people who don't look up porn simply due to a lack of interest hahaha ------------------ *** *** *** *** *** *** Libra Rising 1st House Libra Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto stellium 9th House Gemini Sun, Mercury, Venus stellium 8th House Taurus Mars IP: Logged |

(Retrograde!) Capricorn Mercury in 7th.Most of the books I own deal with art. Have one astrology book and one about the tarot, some manga (Japanese comics.) Other than that, I love informational books/articles. I could waste an entire day researching something online. That's probably due to my Gemini moon though. But really, I just love books. My book collection is mostly comprised of fiction novels, something that would stimulate my imagination. Not really picky about the genre, but it must be something that touches my heartstrings. I usually pick a book that "calls out" to me. However, I read basically anything that interests me. The internet is usually the most accessible source. Mercury in Sagittarius, 6th house. I'm all over the place with literature.) web-chart... all roads lead to Mercury-Jupiter. lol ---- I don't keep anything I don't read or intend on reading - so, despite the volume of things in my "libraries" - I kind of force myself to remain selective. I think my most valued books are out of print, I treasure two in particular from the early 50's (American), one is actually on house management (written for women of the day, details everything from budgeting, appliances of the era, clothing, and a lot of tips that still work today.) Another is a rather lengthy paperback detailing the different people of Russia and modernization up into the Soviet era (this book got me into reading Russian authors when I was only reading Western European authors.) It was only the last 15 years (the last 10 in particular that I began reading Japanese), and Japanese literature. I tend to gravitate towards post-war literature, but I think it is mandatory as a Japanophile (in the Hearn sense) to read some of the classics. I appreciate the simplicity of early song and haiku, and of course the legends- but, in general... I do not like literature on war/politics itself and there has always been a focus on these things in Japanese literature (much like the US) - so, although I did enjoy the philosophical and spiritual lessons that came from, say, reading Five Rings; (and I of course love the ridiculous creatures of the Kojiki, early folk lore) - I am a bigger fan of more modern stories, and the works of Kenzaburo Oe. ^^; It could be that the literature of the 50s in all corners of the world just appeals to me in some way - idk! lol But, it does seem that way... 13-14th century - 17-18th - 30s or 50s... definitely. I have my quaint stash of comics from when I was a kid, and manga from when I was a teenager (well, The Walking Dead is new... but... lol shhhhh) - I'll be giving my paleontology collections to my son once he's old enough... maybe another year... but that alone use to take up an entire wall in my bedroom. Recently, I let him have two of my earliest favourite books, and he loves them, both have seen better days, one is a sort of... I guess, play?! lol Mexican Jumping Beans, another is very basic Dinosaur/paleontology facts (it is dated... Brontosaurus... lol) - But, it's a good starting platform, right!? <3 See - my mother... she use to say that she could never me punish me like other kids whose parents would take their toys away and ground them to their rooms... It would have taken her a week to clear my room of all the books, magazines, pencils, crayons, pens, markers, paints, paper, folders, binders, and the techy learning gadgets I had back then! - (if she left one piece of paper behind, I would have probably used it for origami, written a long protest of my punishment on it using one of my barely there (down to the eraser and knuckles) no. 2 pencils, and likely would have drawn rude caricatures of her on the reverse side, keeping myself amused for quite some time!) My library here is much smaller. I did mean to have all my books shipped up here when we had our old apartment; but it never happened, and I'm glad it didn't. There'd be no where to put them here. ; ; I have trouble finding safe places for the books I do keep here or have shipped here. bahhh IP: Logged |

My Sag son, 13, is kind of the same way. Give him a book, he's fine. The longer the book, the better. He actually devoured this Russian Folktales tome I bought him...about 1,000 pages long...in a few days. I think he has 8H Scorpio Mercury which may explain his ongoing love of fairy tales...they are pretty violent, usually.

To me it, makes sense. Scorpio wants to get to the bottom of things. Most Scorpios I've known are interested in astrology. 3H Mercury might be so active that usual topics seem too limited, hence the sci-fi...branching out into time and space, other realms. I have 3H Pluto and also love sci-fi; makes me feel like I'm tapping into the secrets of the future...I feel like I have to keep a close eye on it. IP: Logged |

I've got Mercury in Taurus in the 8th (also my chart ruler). All of my books fall into one of three categories: classic literature (about 65%), technical books (about 30% in accounting/finance/economics or computer science), or grammar references (about 5%) from my college days (French). Yeah, I'm very selective about the information I intake. I like anything that has to do with the human psyche/behavior and self-help/development too. I also have a big thing for Philosophy. I saw so many books not too long ago that I wanted to purchase. Most of them were Philosophy books. ------------------ Rising: Virgo Sun: _____ Moon: _____ IP: Logged |

Moon in Gemini(2nd house) Quincux Mercury in Capricorn(9th house. Personally I don't really have a library of my own, yet. I have virtual libraries. The topics usually range from all the fantasies to the reality of life. Usually personal topics that affect me in some way. I am not a big fan of magazines so I tend to throw them out. I already have it planned out how I want my own physical library to be like. I want to have all my fantasy books in the top shelf, of course organized in the different parts of fantasy. My books in the middle will be fiction. The books on the middle will of course be fictions of life and facts. Possibly research. I want a bookshelf dealing with memories. I'll have binders full of memories. And not to forget a small shelf for my astrology. I find this all to be in compartments now that I look back to what I wrote. Maybe it's my mercury in Capricorn. ~ http://www.cafeastrology.com/articles/inconjunctaspects.html ~ You end up confused at times because you read more into communications than are there. It's good to be able to read between the lines - just make sure you are also reading what is on the lines. Your expectations and imagination are assets as soon as you are able to develop a method for expressing your true feelings. Since many of your feelings are hidden from you, self expression becomes a path of self discovery.

mercury in the 11th conjunct neptune and uranus and trine moon. I like coming of age stories (especially the hobbit and huck finn/tom sawyer) and lots of nonfiction.I also read alot of stuff about religion and spirituality (mercury conjunct neptune maybe?). I think my love of coming of age stories is related to my capricorn/cancer nodes, the themes of those stories are very relevant to my life and I can usually relate to the characters.IP: Logged | |
