I am falling for a guy I am seeing who is an Aquarius. I have only been in love one other time in my life and it was also with an Aquarius (who happened to have the same name as the one I am now falling for). They say opposites attract I guess. I am a Leo that needs to be reassured that he still "likes" me and I feel it is getting on his nerves and he is becoming more aloof and emotionally distant. It's rather maddening. Is this typical Aquarius/Leo behavior? I noticed that this happened in my prior Aquarius relationship as well and we were together 2 1/2 years. In fact we broke up because I was too "insecure" for him and he was too emotionally distant for me. So, I am just wondering how to better relate to an Aquarius and get into their head.

His chart:

Sun 10 Aqu 13'29"
Moon 2 Sag 25'37"
Mercury 28 Aqu 7'56"
Venus 23 Cap 41'1"
Mars 23 Aqu 52"28"
Jupiter 10 Lib 20'33"r
Saturn 9 Lib 39'56"r
Uranus 29 Sco 35'49"
Neptune 24 Sag 0'58"
Pluto 24 Lib 20'30"r

My chart:
Sun 20 Leo 15'29"
Moon 29 Can 31'3"
Mercury 17 Vir 5'32"
Venus 11 Can 50'56"
Mars 17 Gem 56'53"
Jupiter 28 Gem 41'41"
Saturn 20 Leo 22'40"
Uranus 8 Sco 1'13"
Neptune 13 Sag 24'44"r
Pluto 12 Lib 8'33"

any ideas? I am new to this? Are we compatible? Does this show his aloofness, etc?

Thanks everyone

I like Leos, I really do! This is coming from someone that "only" has a stellium in Aquarius' house and thus only have Aqua traits.

Leos get on my nerves sometimes. They can be overly needy and "in your face" and dramatic. I on the other hand, am quiet and introverted and find them to exhaust my last energies.

If you feel they withdraw from you maybe you need to tone yourself down a bit?

I only know two Aqua guys and they need SPACE and they are also very "moody".

ps. My room mate is a Leo and I can only deal with her in small amounts. Also dated and lived with a Leo for 7 years and my Dad is a Leo Moon. I do find them very "comforting" however.

Im an Aqua Sun! I really dislike the insecurity that most Leo men have and how they always wait to make sure the other person is in them in order to make a move. Its especially frustrating since im a girl and guys are the one who should be doing the chase. So that doesnt exactly apply to your situation.

Its a myth that Aquas are distant and aloof and all that. In my opinion they are like that when they are not interested enough, when they are not crazy for the other person.
But really judging only by his sun sign doesnt say much, you should provide us with more info of his chart!

Not to mention, trying to "get into [an Aquarian's] head" might not be the best way to get to know him.

Haha yeah thats so true, I mean Aquas are really stubborn, personally If someone tried to get into my head to get to know me I would feel angry and I would intentionally try to confuse him and start the mind games

lol, except I don't have to try any mind games. With my Aqua sun, moon, and mercury in the 12th, it takes care of itself.

My previous relationship for 2 and a half years was with an Aquarius. He was very emotionally distant and we were in love. I know my need for reassurance got on his nerves as well. You are right with the whole "need for space" thing. Thanks

He did tell me he was interested in me. I think it's my need for reassurance that drives him nuts (and me nuts). I think in his mind if he has already said it once than why should he have to say it again. I had this same situation with the previous Aqua I dated and we were in love and together 2 and a half years. He was crazy about me. It was just hard for me to tell since as a Leo I want this big full blown fairy tale and wanted to hear him proclaim his love for me every second. lol.

The term "getting in his mind" was probably the wrong term to use. He is just not as expressive emotionally as I am so I just wonder what he's thinking. I believe it's probably more a thing of he has already told me what his thoughts are about me and us and I don't need to bring it up every other week. :/

Even though you say you really are falling for him, and you understand he is attracted as well, I think the fact that you need reassurance about the relationship over time might become an issue again with this current Aqua. It sounds really important for you to have a very expressive romantic partner, I personally think your denying yourself that if you keep on with someone who not have that kind of personality. Who knows mabe this Aqua has some placements that might help him open up to you over time, but if not you might want to seek somebody who gives you emotionally what you want. I am married to a Leo Sun man, and he needs alot of reassurance also, which I am more than happy to give him. Then again I am a Libra Sun with lots of water in my natal chart. Other planets in the chart also can make a big difference as well.

my two closest friends are aqua and leo.
they are best friends too, and they always argue over the DUMBEST things because both are too stubborn to admit they are wrong (i am too), but being the leo you will have to realize that this person is over thinking and thinking and thinking and your logic comes from your feelings.

I am an aquarius. My husband is a leo.

I am the emotionally neurotic variety of aquarius, so my emotional upheavals actually brought me closer to my leo hubby, as it gave him all the assurance he needs in ABUNDANCE that i like him and need him.

However, I also have that aloof aquarian quality. But that only comes out if A: I don't feel emotionally attached to you or B: I feel secure in your feelings toward me.

After I feel secure with you (or I don't really like you all that much), then I want you to give me lots of space. :-D

Basically, if you really want and need that constant assurance from your romantic interest, then this type of aloof aquarius will probably not give you what you need, and you will just end up getting hurt. Try going for another fire sign! I am sure another Leo or even an Aries would just love this from you.

Or go for a last decanter Aquarius, like me, who thrives on that barnacle-like relationship!

You know what they say... opposites attract. I am extremely attracted to the Aquarius and how different his whole mindset is from mine. I think we are both in awe of each other.

I'm sure the need for so much reassurance also has to do with his current situation. But it is a LEO thing for me too. I am getting better about feeling more secure. Just trying to understand the Aquarius and how they think since it is opposite of me.

I agree that the Aquas are distant/aloof is a myth. It's easy to say b/c they take a diff approach to intimacy and romance. I wouldn't bother trying to "get into his head" - most likely, he has no idea what's going on in there either, lol. I think you'll have no doubt when and if an aqua adores you but you will have to be patient or willing to make a clean break.

I think Leo is my most compatible sign - I dunno, their arrogance or confidence is kinda funny to me. I just roll my eyes, nod my head & smile...and they are lighthearted, that's the best part of them. They don't drag me down like cancer or pisces, which makes me insecure as hell, like I'm being examined. With leos, I just know I'm laughing or shaking my head. lol

Hey! This sounds exactly like what it's been like for me with men who had planets in Aquarius. This is more about other placements than the suns.

I've been called everything that Charlie, its_aqua and 12thhouser said here. Clingy, insecure, bossy, too demanding, too emotional. I do have very strong feelings and I don't like them being taken lightly, which is how I've felt Aquarius treated them. The detachment drives me crazy, especially because it didn't use to be that way - things always started out with lots of excitement (which drew me in in the first place. I like the passion ). It makes me wonder what the hell I did, I feel pushed away and rejected. I don't like people checking in and out just whenever they feel like it. Funniest thing is that I'd totally give them space for as long as they'd like if they'd just ask.

The reassurance, yeah, it is a big deal for me. Wouldn't need it every day and it doesn't have to be big, but timing is so important! I mostly want to know you're still interested in me and my life - once someone never asks me how my exams went or if this ill relative is getting better, I'm starting to think the guy doesn't care about me at all. Even more when I start to withdraw and they don't even notice.

So, what do you like in him? What did you fall for? It helps to think of that when things aren't going so well.
Sorry he's becoming distant. I think you should definitely try to talk to him before your insecurity starts taking over completely. If getting some space means so much to him, he can tell you that himself rather than have you guess. Good luck!

In my personal experience with Leos, they seem to be the most romantic and an relationship oriented of the three fire signs.

I thought fire meant passion and water is emotion? Sometimes, I hear Scorpio described as passionate.

Yes they have a TON of passion, but also alot of warmth that wants to be reciprocated by their partner
Scorpios can be emotional, but not so much with an air moon.

I definitely know that about sun Leos. They are really put off by what they say is a bad attitude in others. They are warm and want others to be just like them when they are around. From what I have seen, they are more enthusiastic than Sags and sun Sags are the ones who have the reputation for it.

My biggest problem with my Leo friends has been my subdued attitude. I am not peppy like them. Just not being peppy is enough to put a Leo in a funk, lol. I don't even realize I am coming off so sullen. It's like, they interpret anything that isn't extra uber peppy as sullen and negative. I like their enthusiasm, just please, don't expect me to be the same all the time.

Lol, understand about the peppy thing, my Leo man(Sag Moon) is like this at times. Whenever we go out somewhere if I dont have a big smile on my face or if I am just in neutral mood not talking he thinks hes done something wrong. But I try to reassure him hes the cats meow, and everything is ok.

True, the contrast usually ends up being a problem. I do prefer things to be happy and fun, but if someone's not in the mood, I won't bug them. Just say the word and I'm off your back. I ask because I'm worried they're sad about something and hope I can cheer them up.

Of course you wouldn't have to be happy happy all the time. Why would anyone expect that of you? Kinda wondering if the Ascendant has to do with it because of what people see...

Mostly my adoptive sister growing up is like that, she's a double Leo and will tell people you have a bad attitude if you are not peppy all the time. She is pretty peppy and wants others to be. I don't do peppy unless I've won the lottery or something. Then I can be peppy.

Haha I'm the same way. I love Aquarius because they are the complete opposite of me in many ways. I would be totally up for giving space or whatever too. It would just be nice if they would express that as you said.
