I've always been interested in the paranormal. My mom swears that as a kid I'd talk to dead people like there was no tomorrow and scare her something fierce. My nana's house was haunted when we were growing up... so much that my Uncle who is a SWAT sniper wouldn't like to be in the house alone. I ignored it the older I got, and when I was in college, I had an out of body experience so real... it was awful. I mean, it was wonderful, because it involved my grandfather who had passed, but it was TOO much for me, and I prayed/cried/swore as long as I lived, I never wanted it to happen again.

Fast forward several years, and I started reading tarot cards. I'm not bad, but I also don't do predictive stuff, because I get weird ju-ju feelings I do, and often, what the cards say will happen, happens. Anyway... for the last year, mostly when I read cards, I have dreams that come true. Weird things. Small scenes and conversations that don't matter. When they happen, they are ALWAYS accompanied by a searing head pain and a burning in my sinuses. What's worse, is my body kicks into fight or flight. I've gotten a lot better at managing it. I used to have full blown asthma and panic attacks. Now I just sort of sit down and breathe through them.

BUT, running the risk of sounding like a TOTAL FRUIT LOOP... recently I've been starting to hear voices underneath the static in my radio. At first I thought I was going bat **** crazy insane. But, no, I really am hearing something. Even more so... I'm getting more curious. I want to know what's being said.

So, I was wondering if any of you guys have ever tried to directly talk to something you thought was around you? I've done it once, and I had mixed emotions. There was some shadow stuff that happened, and while it dissipated... meh. But I do feel like there are things around me, and like I am right on the edge of being able to talk to someone... but I'm still leery. I grew up Southern Baptist, and while I've overturned almost all of my beliefs (accept for my belief in the big Man and his sweet baby Son)... sometimes I still think maybe it is a demon that will possess me, force me to kill my family, my cats, and burn my apartment down, before dragging my soul to Hell.

Alright, first off. If you have fear, you are not ready, period.

Think of it like this. We have energy, all the time. Our body is like an energy producer. We have a lot of energy to consume, like the Sun's energy, which creates food, which creates life. We have the energy game pretty easy.

Entities in other dimensions now. . . they might not have the energy as abundantly available. That is why you only see them for a small moment. They have one big surge of "BAM YOU SEE ME I'M ****** SCARY HUH!?"

And then they disappear. When this happens, you naturally feel fear and this fear is simply a name given to a specific type of energy. In the most basic sense, your shock at seeing them causes a burst of energy to explode from you. They are trying to make this happen. They want your energy and you're just giving it to them by reacting to their presence.

This is when an entity isn't tied to a place because of dying there. It can be but it's moreso about the energy that you call to you.

Imagine picking up the phone and dialing a random number, the random number is to a payphone. The payphone is sitting in a field and it just so happens that someone is there with nothing to do. They pick up the phone, now you have an entity talking with you.

Who is this entity, would you trust what it says to you? It's as random as a person walking through a field, just happening across a payphone.

Better yet, they may want you to trust them. What if they see energy differently than we do? What if they see right through your thoughts, to your desires, your pain, your weaknesses. If they can see this, is it easy for them to manipulate and lie to you? Is it easier for them to get what they want?

It is entirely possible not to have this happen but it's still a possibility.

When you take this into account, fear is really the worst possible thing to have. You must be strong and understanding of the energy or you're simply a source of food for them.

It's like how people use the Ouija board and then say "Now I can't get it to leave." That would suck but what's the entities incentive to leave? It's like asking a starving person to leave a buffet.

Do you know what I mean?

EDIT: I've also noticed in many people's stories that entities will change tactics. One second they might act like your best friend and just give you good feelings. Then you might start talking to a physical friend and they get angry that you're spending your energy on someone else, so they start being mean. It's like they're capable of everything we are. Jealousy, revenge, manipulation, warmth, love, etc.

Brontex has had an experience with a Succubus. Maybe he will come here to tell you about how he experiences that. Ehm. . .he did publish that though, I'll paste that link.

Thank you but I'm not at all ready for intense paranormal experiences haha. I'm fearful of the dark without anything paranormal even being present hahaha.

It is hard for us to not fear. It's probably the most ingrained emotional reaction. That is why it takes someone that really understands themselves, their own demons so to speak, to deal with those situations properly.

I haven't seen that X-Files. I actually blame X-Files for my fear of the dark. When I was a little teeny kid, I remember my mother always watching it and it scared me so bad I wouldn't be able to sleep. Then, I would have to go to the bathroom and I was so fearful of the things I had seen on X-Files that I would pee my pants instead of try to run to the bathroom. Yeah, good times!

I did watch the Paranormal Activity movies though and I really like Celebrity Ghost Stories. Not because they're celebrities but because they know how to tell a story, haha!

I haven't encountered a succubus before. My mom has encountered an incubus and I had a random encounter with that but nothing very scary happened to me.

that advice was utterly perfect. i'm not ready yet. i'm getting there, but not yet. it's just so difficult to be on the cusp of something... and to be honest, i don't even trust where my tarot information comes from, because it's like you said, a payphone in the middle of nowhere. i put a lot of effort in protecting myself and the people i read for.. . it's just such a gamble.

i am gonna go read that story right now, and whoever was the last poster... that episode of the X-Files is EXCELLENT. God, I miss that show. Supernatural did a great job (the first 3 seasons) of dealing with weird stuff... but only because Kim Manners -- who did the X-Files -- helped do Supernatural.
