I think it depends on how much influence that planet has, in a person's chart. Say, I have saturn as my chart ruler and lucky for me it's in the 1st. I believe that if it were in the 12th I'd be in a whole new world of issues.

personally I find having mercury there is difficult, simply coz I haven't found a way to "fix" it. Most of the time I either think/say too much or too little.

My Saturn is in 12th and I think it's great. I really don't see what's so bad about the 12th House. Many of the world's greatest leaders are based in the 12th House.

Have you always felt left out? Saturn in the 12th feels like the kid who wants to join the group but holds back out of fear. Do you feel this way?

I have N.node in Scorpio in the 12th, seems to tune me into some sort of higher realms when i get any sort of high, gives me a very giving, compassionate and self-sacrificing aspect to my being but also creates alot of paranoia and fear

WOW Yep That is hard

I wonder if some planets are harder for men and some harder for women.

Any ideas, AG?

The 12th house can indicate mental/emotional sufferings and childhood abuse, that's bad enough hehe.

About saturn... You have 10th house Cap sun, and cap mars so I don't think saturn in the 12th can cause problem.

I already have a few planets in the mushy 12th house including the sun, I'd much rather not to have Saturn there too. Saturn in the 1st balances things out for me. Except for mercury, the others don't cause troubles. Well nothing I can't deal with anyway (this is probably another blessing from 1st house saturn ).

Aquaguy, 7thGuardian once mentioned that people with 12th house planets (especially the sun) often have better luck if they don't live in their "native" cities.

It makes sense, the "mother land" is the source of our blessings and/or our sufferings. I think if you can, living elsewhere may help to lighten your burden.

Yes. I'm a loner. But I grew up conditioned to not join a group and be alone.

Not out of fear. For sure. More out of choice. I tend to swim against the current anyway.

Vladimir Putin. Tony Blair. Ariel Sharon. Gordon Brown. George W. Bush. All leaders of powerful nations with 12th House suns. And we shouldn't forget Abraham Lincoln. Ulysses Grant. Jimmy Carter. Ghandi.

12th House is the house of leadership.

That's the most intriguing part of the 12th house, YTA. It's the house of Pisces yet you see these world leaders with activity there. I wonder what the connection is to this house and the world stage? Maybe it has something to do with fulfilling collective needs?

I didn't know this, Ian. For me, if it is within 10 degrees of the ASC, I call it conjunct the ASC.

SSS, there is this article that explains it quite well. YEah the title is a bit pompous "Da power of the 12th house", but lol it's a good read

I've also got mercury in the 12th house and its exactly how you described it. Often times in a conversation I keep thinking what to say but end up not saying anything.

It's in the house of Neptune and Neptune is known for its illusion and half-truths.

Quote from Supernatural the TV series:

- "We're humans. And when humans want something, really, really bad— we lie."

- "Why?"

- "Because. That's how you become President."

ok, I'll stop. I have a thing with politics so I often get carried away lol.

<giving you an e-hug> yeah, we think a lot and thoughts get jumbled up. In the end coherent thoughts and sentences can't be formed so we stay quiet.

I find it particularly interesting President George Bush junior had a lot of controversy and tragedy during his presidency, wasn't the most popular president in history and made some enemies overseas. His sun and Saturn are in twelfth, afflicted, and his wife spoke of a time they were in Germany and worried they had been poisoned.
