Fixed signs make me feel stable...like can deal with my chaotic energy because it gives them something to do that brings us together, I think it makes them feel needed. Looking at the Sun position alone does not and has never painted the whole picture.

If the fixed sign placement has a lot of Gemini/Pisces therein,then you may not find a very "fixed" person after all.

On the other hand,a stellium of cardinal placements for a fixed Sun, may change the picture too.

Its about balancing the other out.

So pairing up a Taurus with Moon/Venus/Mars and Sag Uranus and Asc in Pisces with Scorpio may seem like a good idea initially.

The argument here is that -judging from the solar position,they both need "stability" etc. So it should work out right?

Not if the Scorpio concerned has many Cap placements it won't.

Intellectually,they may connect very well. But again the Taurus has Gemini placements that are too changeable and "easy come,easy go" for the more traditional Cap placements which the Scorpio has.

The Taurus will find the Scorpion very restricting at times and the Scorpio will not appreciate the Taurus' versatile story-telling skills i.e lying etc.

In this case,the two may have differing ideas of what "stability" entails.

I still think it depends on the signs and configuration. (Aspects)
I'm not sold if we're talking ONLY modality as the same will always oppose or square, at least by sign.

Most of my closest friends are very fixed, however.

I try to stay away from the Mutables. We have a lot of fun, but yes - it's hard to tame them and sometimes I find their frenetic energy to be too much to deal with.

*every* planet in my natal except for Mars and Venus forms at least one square (orb < 5°) to at least one other planet. Throw in my NN @ 2° Cancer, and every planet in my natal is square itself in the draconic...
