Hello! I am new on here
I have been visiting the forums for quite some bit and have been inspired to finally participate.
Looking forward to sharing with and learning from you all. <3

Anyhow,
I am curious to know how strong the house rulers, as well as secondary houses play a role in terms of attraction.
In your personal experiences, would you say your attraction to your main relationship houses differ from your secondary relationship houses? Do you feel that one is stronger than the other?

In my my case, I feel more of an attraction to my Descendant rulers rather than its sign, as well as my Secondary Descendant ruler rather than the Secondary Descendant itself.

I have an Aquarius Desc and am not romantically attracted to those with Aquarian energy, but in Synastry I like 11th house placements as they make me feel more comfortable. I like to be friends with my partner first as well as feel a deeper soul connection with them (which is explained by my Desc traditional ruler) in order to consider having a relationship with them.

My Descendant rulers are:
Uranus in Capricorn in 6th house
Saturn in Pisces in 8th house

I am very much attracted to those energies, magnetized rather, especially to Pisces/8th house.
I highly value having a deep spiritual and mystical connection with my partner, as well as an emotional and empathic understanding.
Commitment, stability and longevity in a relationship are also very important to me. I take relationships very seriously and would never consider getting involved with someone in a "casual" or "light" way.
All of the above is an absolute must for me.
Friendships though of course, are a different thing.
I was only speaking in terms of non platonic relationships.

Now for my secondary Desc:
My Aquarius Desc rules the 11th house, which is in Gemini.

Gemini energy does not attract me at all in a partnership sense. But I love having intellectually stimulating conversations with them and appreciate their their carefree playful nature. Most of my friends who have Gemini energy in their charts are like a breath of fresh air. I really enjoy their company (Although with one I had a horrible experience, he tried fooling me and my good friends into thinking he was a "spiritual saint", but in actuality he was only using spirituality as bait to get closer to us and use us for his own selfish needs. He very draining, negative and sexually driven. thank God he's long gone now).

BUT, my 11th house ruler (Mercury) is in Virgo and I find myself attracted to Virgo energy. I feel I get them on a deeper level and they get me. With most Virgos, our personalities just naturally click.
I highly value their down to earth, supportive nature, inner sensitivity, humility, depth, loyalty, quiet sense of devotion, faithfulness, and real-ness.
That also could be because my Mercury (secondary descendant ruler) falls in my 2nd house, which is a Taurus house, therefor it rules that which you value, what gives you a sense of comfort, and also what you're attracted to in a physical sense, and in my case that would be Virgo energy.

So in conclusion, the energies I am attracted to in a 7th house type way, either in the chart of a potential lover or in my synastry with them would be:

Capricorn/Saturn/10th house energies (Indicated by my Desc ruler's sign placement)
Pisces/Neptune/12th house energies (Indicated by my Desc traditional ruler's sign placement)
Scorpio/Pluto/8th house energies (Indicated by my Desc traditional ruler's house placement)
Virgo/Vulcan/Mercury/6th house energies (Indicated by my Secondary Desc ruler's sign placement, as well as my Desc ruler's house placement)

I'd like to hear some of your personal experiences, so please feel free to share

~ Lavender

Personally,I do feel attracted to aquarius people whether it's erotic or platonic(7th house in Aquarius & my moon there)
but I also feel attracted to people with saggitarian energy(saturn in the ninth and jupiter in the fifth)

My seventh house rules my eleventh house also but i do have a stellium of four planets there so i tend to be attracted to intellectual and talented men.

Interesting..
It makes sense then why you would be attracted to Aquarian energy because of the stellium in your 11th.

What degree is your Ascendant at?
Mine's at 13°43

I have the same placements you said except Mercury in Virgo.
You use Vulcan as Virgos modern ruler too?
Do you have Vulcan in Virgo?
I'm personally attracted to Virgos the most.
I just like that we have a connection since I'm one too. I like Virgo girls because they're introverted, shy and quiet, and I see that as very feminine.
I am also attracted to Libra and Gemini.
My Moon is in Gemini in the 11th House in Uranus Decan and Taurus Duad.
My Venus is in Libra 2nd House in Venus Decan and Libra Duad too, so this can explain those two signs. I kinda like Aquarius too because they aren't followers and have their own beliefs and philosophies that they came up with.
Oh and My Virgo Sun is in the 2nd House with Venus Decan and Gemini Duad.

Yes, I use Vulcan as Virgo's modern ruler as I don't really resonate with Mercury as my true "home" lol.
Though I still use it as the traditional ruler.
And yes, My Sun is in Virgo in the 2nd house.

Hm, how would you say your duads influence your attraction?
With your Moon's duad in Taurus do you find yourself attracted to Taurean energy?
Or are they attracted to you?

Btw,
According to Vedic Astrology, Venus and its house placement represents the qualities your lover/spouse has, and/or what their profession would be, in both the charts of men and women.
(I know western astrology places an emphasis on Venus being the indicator of attraction only in men's charts, but in my own experience I've found this to apply to women as well. It definitely fits for me, which I will explain further below).

Mars and Jupiter are considered exclusive only to women.
Mars represents the boyfriend/sexual lover.
Jupiter (and Sun) represents the husband/the man you will eventually settle down with.

The Moon would be exclusive to men only in terms of the type of woman they are attracted to as a wife.

For an ideal mate, if you are woman, I'd say you'd want a combination of the qualities of your Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Sun, Desc, as well as the other attraction houses.
And if you are a man, you would look to your Venus, Moon, Desc and other attraction houses to see the qualities your ideal mate might possess or what you are attracted to.

Phew! It can be very complicated lol.

My Venus is in Libra in 3rd house: shows I like artistically inclined guys who are refined and romantic and good communicators and my lover/spouce will most likely be involved with the arts and communication.
This is true as my love is artistic and his profession has to do with communicating through art.

Jupiter in Scorpio in 4th: This indicates I have to feel a spiritual connection with them and feel safe and comfortable with them (4th). They have to be sensitive and understanding as well.

Mars in Cancer in 11th, tightly conjunct the 12th house cusp: Again this shows I like sensitive, caring types, who are humanitarian (11th house) and spiritual (12th house)

I think I'm attracted to Tauruses physically, but not mentally or emotionally.
I don't think I attract them.
I use Mercury as the traditional co-ruler as well for Virgo.
Oh and you never told me where your Vulcan is.
Mine is at 1 degree Libra and is Retrograde
Almost in Virgo, lol.
Are you attracted to Virgo men like I'm attracted to Virgo women?

Yes, I'm attracted to all 3 Air and Virgo.
Gemini Moon
Libra Venus
Aquarius Descendant
lol
In Vedic, my Venus is in Virgo in the 3rd, Mars in Libra in the 4th, Moon in Gemini in the 12th, Descendant in Capricorn, Saturn in Aquarius in 8th and Vulcan and Mercury in Virgo in 3rd. Also Sun in Virgo 3rd.

I want an intellectual and romantic relationship.
I have Uranus in the 7th House in Vedic, so this can explain why I like Aquarius even though my Descendant shifts to Capricorn.
Oh and also i have a Cancer Ascendant in Vedic. (well that was pretty obvious anyway since Cap Desc, lol)
I use the Whole House system with Lahiri calculations in Vedic ofc.

Yes, my Vulcan is in Virgo. Sorry I missed reading that.
And I am attracted to Virgo men, most definitely.
My own soul partner happens to be a Virgo, we share the same birthday, though different years.

I fit my western chart more than my Vedic.
In the Vedic I have Leo Sun, Gemini Moon and Mars, Cancer Asc.
In the western chart I have Virgo Sun, Cancer Moon and Mars, Leo Asc.
In both charts I have Mercury in Virgo and Venus in Libra.

The part that doesn't fit with me is the Gem Moon & Mars.
I am highly sensitive, emotional, nurturing, more of a home body, not that talkative lol, unless I know someone well and am comfortable with them.
As for my vedic mars in gem and Desc in Cap, I don't find myself attracted to Gemini/Cap energy either, but I do like Cappy's stability and grounded-ness.

My Vulcan is direct.

Your grammar is just flawless; very Virgo like
I'm not really attracted to Capricorn energies either, lol.
I don't have a Virgo Mercury in Tropical, but I'm very attentive to my grammar, that is another reason why I feel that my Vedic fits me better because I have a Virgo Mercury in that.
I am also addicted to Science. I want to become a scientist. I have no Aquarius placements in Tropical, but an Aquarius Saturn in Vedic. I also only have a Virgo Sun in Tropical, but a whole lot of Virgo in Vedic; Sun, Mercury, Vulcan, Venus, Ceres and Chiron all in Virgo in the 3rd House. (Whole House system)
I'm not interested in Art like Leo Ascendants and Libra dominants are supposed to be.
That is why I definitely resonate better overall with my Vedic placements.

So what does Vulcan represent exactly anyway?
I use it, yet just assume it's critical/logical thinking skills and the Virgo characteristics, am I right? Also do you notice your Vulcan?

Why thank you
As is yours.

Hmm interesting that you fit your Vedic more...
I guess it all comes down to the individual, what works for one may not work for the other.

Have you looked into your draconic chart?
If so do you find those placements fitting?

It makes sense then why you would be attracted to Aquarian energy because of the stellium in your 11th.

What degree is your Ascendant at?
Mine's at 12°41

Mine is almost at the 17th degree but I'm attracted to Aquarius no matter where their sun falls(sixth or seventh house) I don't know why

Well not really.
I have an Aquarius Sun, but Pisces Mercury.
I'm definitely not a Pisces Mercury, lol.
My Moon is Sagittarius, but I'm not very optimistic or crave adventure.
My Venus is Pisces. While that can fit, my love is more intellectual like Libra.
But then again, Pisces is shy too, so I don't know. But I'd say Libra because I'm really romantic and more service-oriented to make my partner happy by doing romantic things for her.
My Ascendant is Capricorn. I act very serious, but I act serious at home too, so I don't really know for that one. My depositor Saturn for Ascendant, is in Leo and I don't act Leo like. While I'm competitive, it's more in a Virgo - perfectionist kind of way.
My Mars is Aries, definitely not aggressive whatsoever, lol. I'm actually the complete opposite, lol.
The only ones that seem to fit are my Aquarius Sun, and Pisces Venus a bit.
But My Virgo Sun in Tropical is trine Uranus, so that can be it.
All the Houses stay the same.
