I'm trying to come to terms with the fact that I spend too much time in self-indulgent, escapist activities. I'm a flunky Capricorn. But I don't know any way around it.

quote:
Without plenty of space and time to daydream, Pisces Moons easily get overloaded with life. Give them room to be alone with themselves, and they're generally able to take on the world—even if their style when they do so is not always conventional or understandable.

^cafeastrology

Definitely. I feel very high maintenance Need a LOT of time to myself in order to just feel okay.

quote:
With the Moon in Pisces the sign of the emotions lies in the most sensitive of the signs. People with this combination have an intrinsic and deep understanding of other people and their pain and problems. It is as if their feelings are heightened an magnified. The positive side of this is the ability to feel what others are feeling and to sympathise and be understanding to their problems. In this way people with the Moon in Pisces are likely to be well liked by others and not seen as a threat. On the negative side since these people can feel the pain and troubles of the world they may find it all too much and wish to escape in to their own less painfull world. This may take the form of any kind of escapism including drugs , solitude , gambling or any othe pursuit in which they can escaoe from the pain which they feel in everyday life. Indeed people with this combination may need to periodically withdraw from society to recharge themsleves as they are constantly open to all the feelings of those around them and they may become overwhelmed by them and lose their core sense of self.

What I put in bold is so true, it's like I am constantly uneasy and just trying to take the edge off however I can. Thankfully I am not a drunk or a gambler, my main addiction lately is to the computer and astrology.

On the other hand, while I love being with my kids, as an individual I am happiest when dealing with supernatural phenomena like synchronicity, mind-boggling scientific ideas, psychic communication, and music that hits the spot. All of that is my soul food; I find my "authentic self" in there. And whether or not these are actually escapist interests is a matter of debate; one could say that the spiritual world is where people truly belong, but they escape to the real world out of weakness.

Are you a Pisces moon, do you feel the need to escape? How do you get comfortable with this moon?

I can relate 100% but I don't have a Pisces Moon... ha!

Maybe it's my progressed Moon in the 12th, or my natal SN in the 12th... But I definitely know where you're coming from, Faith.

I need tons of time alone and can't deal with the harshness of life... I'm definitely an escapist (which is too bad since I have to deal with the world out there - 6th house stellium).

You're not alone. =)

i need to escape a lot lol. socializing a lot or going to parties wears me out real quick, i just get overloaded with everyone. even my arian energy cant fuel how much i absorb.
my escape i guess is theatre stuff, but even that takes a huge toll on me as im so good at embodying the emotions and character that it takes a substantial amount of energy to sustain. i just nap a lot LOL

I think Neptune hard aspects (including a conjunction) to the Sun or Moon are enough to cause such tendencies.

Don't feel guilty about it. Do whatever soothes your soul, as long as it's not heroin

Thats exactly like me! And I'm a virgo with cancer rising - so my pisces moon is also my chart ruler! Combined with stellium in 6th house!

I need to be in touch with reality so it's a balance between wanting to be alone and then feeling a bit too lonely and going out again

This is me too. I also nap a lot or watch kids movies.
And i agree that the philosophical/enlightened world is where everyone *really* belongs, great way to put it that they escape to the real world lol

I have no pisces but a cancer sun and sun opposite neptune

Hmm i know a few negatively escapist pisces suns and i just never understood how drugs or gambling could be escape. If ur stressed out and feel like u lack control over ur life wouldnt u want to escape to a world where u do have control over your life? Not to gambling or drugs where u have NO control?

@ Faith, you just basically described everything that's been going on in my head lately.
I stay at home with my son and I enjoy spending time with him, playing with him, and teaching him things, but I need my solitude to "escape", which I basically do the same way that you do, or I do it with working with the earth/gardening/making herbal tinctures, etc.

I have to try to juggle my time for myself and my time with family. It can make me curmudgeony.

I suppose for me it's my Pisces Sun/Virgo Moon/Sag Neptune T-square.

pisces moon 5th house
Sun square Neptune
Moon square Neptune
Venus Square Neptune
Mercury Square neptune
Pluto in 12th house

I don't appreciate my pisces moon as much as family members and close ones do. What i'm saying is that I don't see in myself, what others see in me. I can't understand why people who I see as strong and "well put together" choose to have consistent private moments with me that discloses total weakness and chaos. What hurts me the most is that this openness and pacts causes these individuals to hurt me in public situations.

I feel the undercurrents of my public and domestic life way more than I want to. I can look a calm person in the eye and see their hidden tears. I can feel pain and chaos in situations where there aren't any.

I cannot go without an hour, day, or days to myself without feeling overwhelmed. My happiest moments are when I'm alone in my room with no lights, and stimulation, beyond my laptop and good music on youtube. As a child up until my late teens. i would waste post school hours on video games and music tapes/cd's.

Yet my scorpio ascendant 8th house sun masks it well. Everyone thinks I'm the mysterious quiet guy that is calm and has it together. My deepest craving/fear is one day just letting go and not giving a F*** anymore. I have a Scorp Sun pisces moon& Cancer Sun Pisces Moon coworkers and our eyes tell the same stories to each other.

Faith, are you stalking my chart positions or something? /Pisces Moon. Though I think you asked about the possible psychic aspects or positions in another post earlier already, with Pisces Moon talk?

Add in the Pisces Moon in 8th and you probably get even more of a liking for recharging on your own. No particular emotion sponging here that I'm aware of. I may simply have high capacity defences against other people's emoting though, can't say.

My progressed Moon is in 12th house Cancer ATM, too.

Pis Moon in 8th, Lib Pluto in 4th.

Moon trine 4H Uranus, 29 Lib. Moon and Uranus also Antiscia each other. Sun 2 opp Moon.

Like Violets I'm a wood Rabbit. Rabbit was the 4th sign so corresponded to Cancer according to some.

I can relate somewhat. I have sun in the twelfth and Neptune conjuncts uranus (chart ruler) and mercury and trines my moon. If I don't get a lot of alone time I get really cranky and anti-social. I discovered meditation recently and it helped me out a lot. I need to meditate more often.

More and more people are realizing that "downtime" "solitude""meditation" and plain old escapism are essential if you want to a) know yourself and b) maintain your energy.

Pisces moons are just ahead of the crowd in that we know this from birth. I was an easy baby to put to bed! As a toddler and child I was happy to be by myself in the woods or anywhere.

My Leo sun is soothed and the stereotyped need for attention grounded by this moon. I love it and consider it extremely healthy.

Lately, undergoing the passage of Neptune, it got a bit much at times, but we have survived and thrived because of it too. My career suffered a slowdown because I just couldn't be bothered, but oh, the places I have seen!

As to addictions, with pluto on my sun and pisces moon the typical analysis would be addictive personality, but looking back I am always amazed at the number of times I was pulled back from going into real addiction by incidents that graphically illustrated it just wasn't worth the trouble to be that attached to any substance, person or activity

I can relate to this, and I agree that it's a part of knowing ourselves and maintaining our energy. It's a fine balance. (Although I'm a Pisces Sun, but there's a lot of Neptune action in my chart. *sigh*)

I definitely need downtime, but not like a Pisces mooner does.

Faith, you might've liked the Pisces moon I was close to (and still exchange emails with from time to time). He definitely had a libertarian/anarchist bend though he thought modern politics and social problems were a symptoms of an OCCULT condition plaguing our species.

But he was a Libra (Virgo cusp) with some Cancer (including ASC, IIRC) and Pisces moon...he needed a lot of downtime. And until he started practicing occult techniques to fortify his aura against everyone else he just couldn't stand to be around people much at all...he sympathized deeply with them, even defied the law to help people in trouble (including me as a kid), but the pain of the world was so overwhelming to him. And he self-medicated with drugs until he he was inspired to follow an occult path of inner-development. Even then he had to keep at it or he'd start retreating from the world again unable to handle it, and he still needed his downtime (but not as badly).

He was such a paradox to me that I couldn't help but be fascinated by him. I first met him when I was very vulnerable and a street kid hitchhiking to Portland who went to sleep on the beach until the next day when he found me. Because of his criminal activities helping people in trouble (like street kids such as myself) he'd gained some scars from crossing the wrong people (dirty cops, pimps, etc) and he looked like a big, burly biker type with his long hair and bulked up muscles (he was a bodybuilder, too).

When he approached me I was psyched to stab him and run but he was psychic enough to gauge that and stopped several yards/meters from me to keep me from feeling too threatened and talked to me...even from a distance he picked up the gist of what I was going through and said all the right things to calm me down (probably still would've told him to keep moving had his aunt not been there). As scared as I was when he approached me I can sympathize when I've seen small children flee from him but he was incredibly sweet under the rough exterior, sensitive (but not fragile), and a very mystical thinker. And he helped changed my life (and no we were never lovers, don't know why people keep assuming that when I share this about him). 'Course given his sensitivity he might've found it nice that many avoided him for his ominous look anyway.

I believe downshifting is the word with careers, too. Can't keep going all the time without rest as well.

If being alone is part of Pisces Moon, I guess I qualify for that side as well. I'm an introvert and love me-time and certainly don't mind being alone. Sleeping is also appreciated. I never got people who call it a waste of time. Hi-five to another Leo Sun-Pisces Moon.

New places, sights, visions? I'm all for some of all.

I am 7H Pisces Moon squaring 4HSaggi Neptune which conjuncts my Venus. This moon opposes my Virgo Asc. Lately this has been playing out majorly. My favorite cousin who was more like a brother to me, hung himself 12 days ago. I have had to break this bad news to too many people. It is taking a toll on me & right now I am drinking beer to shut the anxiety down. People think I am so calm and collected (Virgo Asc, anyone), but I feel my people's pain on such a gut level. Taking care of others in so ingrained & instinctual. This moon is a part of a Grand Water Trine with Mercury Scorpio, Saturn Cancer & Mars Taurus Kite.

Thank you, Catalina. This is my 4th suicide in the last couple of decades. I know too many prematurely dead people due to this, drug od's, etc... Very Piscean. This ain't my first rodeo, unfortunately. I am tempted to go ahead & get my psych degree and focus on crisis counseling. The problem being is I carry the other's pain. Kinda like Dr. Melfi from "The Sopranos". She had to see a shrink because she was absorbing too much from her patient.

The most recent was a diagnosed bipolar who was off his meds & drinking heavily, one before that was bipolar & on the WRONG meds, the one before that I believe was an undiagnosed bipolar with a thyroid problem,& the one before that was in severe depression, drug addiction, and who knows what else. The first & the third I read the hopelessness on their faces & tried to break through to them. No such luck, obviously. I have natal Sun/Uranus 2H opposite 8H. Chiron.

Doux

I admire Scorpio suns and also think they have it hardest of all; if I were a Scorpio yes I WOULD be an alcoholic, probably. Even now with all these planets in Scorpio, I feel like I'm being vivisected. Like all these issues I have been trying to avoid keep staring at me hard in the face saying, "And you're going to deal with this problem when?? "

I say this because I feel bad complaining about having a Pisces moon when I think a Scorpio sun is a much harder placement.

----

Like you I have a progressed 12H moon, and I also have a 6H sun constantly nagging me to work more. It never shuts up.

At least we have some good times around here, they count for something.
