Do you have parallel or contra-parallel planets? How many? What are the actual aspects that these planets make in your chart? Do they surprise you at times? by the way they manifest themselves in your life? IP: Logged |

Ah sh#t I can't remember if I have a contraparallel or not. Ugh! But I do have Venus/Jupiter parallel. They don't form an aspect! I definitely feel the affects in a subtle way. Like, my Venus acts in Jovian ways and my Jupiter has Venusian ways to it, but they aren't directly affected by one another, ya feel? It's like they blended a little then went their own ways. Uranus and Neptune are parallel too but they are conjunct any ways, so I don't know what to make of that. IP: Logged |

I've been curious about these too. I hear they intensify classical aspectsSun contraparallel neptune/uranus Mercury contraparallel Uranus Uranus and neptune do not aspect my sun! I have not really given it much thought but i suppose I do have stereotypical Uranian and Neptunian qualities. I noticed with Sun-neptune which is an exact declination people project on me often and I do have escapism tendencies. quote: Sun opposite Neptune creates a dynamic and creative push-pull which drives them to achieve imaginative excellence. They have an ethereal, other worldly aura which attracts people to project their dreams onto them. They wear it well and make good clothes-horses for partners to wrap their fantasies around. They are prime candidates for projection.
^ Yes, exactly this. Moon parallel venus moon conjunct venus Venus parallel asc Venus conjunct asc IP: Logged |

Modern astrologers claim they are mild conjunctions, while the ancient gurus say they are powerful conjunctions. If your uranus and neptune is already conjunct a parallel would strengthen the aspect more so. IP: Logged |

Sun parallel Venus Sun just out of orb for parallel Mercury (1°16) Mercury parallel Venus (Mercury and Venus are out of bounds, too).Sun is exactly conjunct Mercury. The other two`s are out of orb for a conjunction (10 and 11 degrees) ---------------------------------------- Moon parallel uranus Moon parallel Juno Moon contraparallel Pluto Uranus contraparallel Pluto no aspects, though some might consider the Moon - Pluto trine (8°02)
Interestingly Moon is unaspected (apart from the quinkunx to Saturn, but that is not a Ptolemaic aspect) ----------------------- Mars parlalel Neptune Mars contraparallel Saturn Mars is also conjunct Neptune --------------------------- Jupiter contraparlalel Chiron BTW I did not check the angles and nodal axis, there are some parallels as well

interesting notion. 6th and 12th house cusp are the highest in declinations. 12th house cusp parallel sun o_o.. 12th house ruler conjuncts sun too... Jess are declinations used in vedic? Sun and mercury also parallel asc. IP: Logged |

^ Yes they are.I've been studying this umm thing like crazy I think the house cusps that are parallel to either the ASC,DSC,and the MC are very important to the native, well also the house cusps that are of the highest declination. In Vedic, the planet that has the highest degrees is the atmakaraka, most of the charts I have studied the atmakaraka is related to the cusps that are of the highest declination. IP: Logged |

Me too, kinda.. Ever since I heard about them like months ago I was like checking declinations of people I know.Should dump all your findings in this thread, I'd like to learn more! Not too much info online. Are declinations called something specific in vedic? IP: Logged |

Uh ..........*googles* Yes I heard of the concept 'planetary war' quote: Brihad Samhita says that when two planets appear to have a single orb on account of overlapping they fight in Bheda (occultation), the orb nearer to us on earth completely obstructing the farther one.
Ohhh I see, so they do use declinations.IP: Logged |

Interesting. I have Mars parallel Chiron Moon contraparallel Mars Moon square Mars Venus contraparallel Saturn Venus opposite Saturn Venus parallel Jupiter Venus conjunct Jupiter Jupiter contraparallel Saturn Jupiter opposite Saturn Jupiter parallel ASC Jupiter sextile ASC Venus contraparallel Neptune Saturn parallel Neptune Uranus parallel Neptune Uranus conjunct Neptune I definitely feel that the parallels intensify the effects of the aspects, particularly my sextile to ASC and conjunction to Venus from Jupiter that are kinda wide. I identify with the descriptions I have found pretty strongly. For the contraparallels hmm the Venus-Saturn opposition figures pretty strongly in my chart, but it's also tight and with Chiron participating too. I find the descriptions of Jupiter opposite Saturn to resonate with me(that one is at 7 degrees). Moon-Mars well my emotions are all over the place but my Moon is heavily afflicted so it could very well be just that. I'm not confident to make any assessments. And, and - I saved the best for last. My Atmakaraka, Uranus, which btw is out of bounds, is parallel my 8th house cusp and contraparallel my 2nd house cusp. Them house cusps having the highest declination among house cusps. Bonus Uranus being in the 8th house itself. Good going there Jess! Ahh, why is information on Vedic so scarce on the internet, why.

No. Once you generate your chart in astro.com. Click on the additional tables (pdf) option. You'll see a declination column next to the positions of planets. If 2 planets are within 1 degree of each other, it's a parallel. But it has to be both N or both S. If one is N and the other S, it's contraparallel.IP: Logged |

Saturn. Other than the ones I listed, it trines my Mars and eh, sextiles Pluto (5 degrees). It is the main dispositor in my chart, the only planets it doesn't disposit are the ones that are in domicile themselves. EDIT: Oh, it's in the 9th house too.IP: Logged |
