Are there general dealbreakers in synastry? Some say, a Grand cross is a dealbreaker, some say Venus opposite Saturn, some say that sun/moon/venus/mars have to match.I personally don't think there are definitive dealbreakers but a Grand cross should be hard to overcome IP: Logged |

What if there's a conjunction between Venus and Chiron? Or any major Chiron conjunctions? People tend to worry about Chiron. IP: Logged |

Strangely my observatíons and experiences are quite different. If chiron squares venus -> not much emotional hurt If chiron trines/sextiles venus = a lot of pain to endureI have never seen a relationship with the conjunction/opposition IP: Logged |

For me, anything related to Mars. If my Mars is Square theirs it's very hard for me to get along with them.IP: Logged |

I've seen so many pluto relationships through time, that I know enough about it to say that harsh pluto aspects to personal planets (especially sun, moon, venus and mars) IS a deal breaker… the relationship gets to intense, obsessive and jealousy will arise and eventually the power struggle begins, which no one will be able to survive… the tragical thing about this is that people who are in a pluto relationship refuse to take good advice and the keep on believing that obsession is good in a relationship… I have had my pluto relationship and it was equally bad as everyone else's, and it's not worth my time to try that again….if I meet anyone with harsh pluto aspects I'm going a wide circle away from them!

Of course people always make a huge deal over planets in twelve. IP: Logged |

I have one thing to say: Dealbreakers are often DealMAKERS. Ask Saturn and Uranus.IP: Logged |

I would never say anything in absolute terms when it comes to astrology, but...Mars square Pluto in synastry or composite...I would have to be extremely cautious with this one... Oh, and a Moon-Mars conjunction in the other's natal... IP: Logged |

for me a dealbreaker (in a romance for people) is venus square mercury at a tight orb (4 or less); communication will be too hard all of the time and frequent misunderstandings. in love, you don't want that as often as it'll appear. for myself, and others it's very cautionaryIP: Logged |

I was also thinking hard aspects between Mars or Mercury from almost any other planet. Mars especially, I think, but Mercury at a close second. Mars just creates too much irritation most of the time (although I have Mars opposite Mars with my dad, and we get along perfectly fine...but there are a lot of other good aspects in our charts), and the feeling that you have to be confrontational with each other. Mercury just makes me want to slap people (and vice versa, I would assume). IP: Logged |

But yes, really tough Pluto aspect should probably be avoided, like between Mars and Pluto. That can get pretty bad.IP: Logged |

Has anyone experienced Mercury opp Pluto in synastry? the orb is 2 degrees, Im the Pluto person. Does it translate itself into debates/intellectual antagonism? IP: Logged |

Yes, I have this with my mom. It's hard to tell what causes what, because we have a number of hard aspects between Mercury and Mars with each other. But I don't think that Pluto opposite Mercury is helpful in any way, at least with us. We are definitely argumentative with each other, and can get really heated about stupid things. Not as much now, but that's a parent/child dynamic that probably mellows with age and physical distance. If we lived with each other it would probably be unpleasant. IP: Logged |

What I personally find hard to overcome: squares to my sun or moon rulers. I feel uncomfortable with that Person, no way that we ever could dateIP: Logged |

That's a really good point. Mercury rules my Moon, so maybe that's why I have such an issue with hard Mercury aspects, whether I'm the Mercury or the other planet... Hm. IP: Logged |

But my observations say that if there are many many tight squares to the personal planets or if the personal planets form a lot of tight squares to each other -> attraction near obsession IP: Logged |

I think so too. Plus you should add Venus conjunct mars that intensifies everythingIP: Logged |

I would definitely agree that Mars/Pluto aspects are harsh. I had an ex who's Mars (in my 7th house) sqaured my Pluto (in my 5th) and there were definitely power struggles in our relationship. It even became violent at one point. But I do think it depends on the natal aspects in how it will play out. IP: Logged |

I had one relationship with lots of squares to pluto and sun (both ways). I wasn't into Astrology back then. Worst relationship that I could imagine. IP: Logged |

So the 1° conjunction is something you'd avoid at all costs?
