Same goes for you, fauxcoat, as for DeepFreeze. Scorpio is just about gaining or sharing with others. You gain from them and in the ninth house, you could find yourself multiplying what you have through other's resources. You acquire money and resources through other people. Scorpio is the sign right after Libra, the one of marriage and the public. Scorpio is gain from marriage or people in some way. Eight house is about gaining through others, or not.
Whenever you see Scorpio/eighth house in a chart, this is what's it's pretty much about, since most people go through their lives figuring out ways to increase what they have materially. This is Scorpio's/eighth house's providence in the chart.

@ SSS - Thanks. What is your NN house placement?

I also have Uranus tightly conjunct NN and Venus is slightly conjunct. Do these factor in too?

Yes with Uranus there it is sudden gains or losses. You will be faced with the unexpected and will adapt. Uranus in Scorpio is exalted so you will learn how to be very resourceful. Scorpio is the most resourceful sign.
Venus is a good influence. Your sense of security is intertwined with the pursuit of material things so it is important for you to devote a lot of your time to security. Both Taurus and Scorpio are most concerned with security and comfort. These nodes are a very stable influence except Uranus could cause problems. Without Uranus it would be more stable but it should be considered pretty stable.
My north node placement is Pisces sixth house, similar to Deepfreeze's in some ways. Second, sixth and tenth are all practical, work oriented houses. Survival houses.
