I like to think of the North Node/South Node Axis as someone who is a drug addict (or any kind of addict), for example.The person wants to so desperately try to get help and become sober (North Node), but in a lot of cases, the person falls back to doing drugs, as that is what the person needs to feel good and satisfy themselves (South Node). That's an interestingly dark view on the Nodal Axis, Mercurian. I think we just naturally use our South Node but really want to balance ourselves by learning the skills of the North Node. I think this is somewhat true. I have NN in Gemini 28 degrees in the 9th house (which is supposed to be about philosophy and finding the inner truth in things). It makes me really question things (I guess Gemini's mercury adds to that), and also to get out of my comfort zone to explore other countries or cultures (I spent most of the past 2 years in America, also spent time in Egypt). I still want to go to the Far East.It grand trines my Libra Asc and Saturn in Aquarius so I've never really been afraid of travelling on my own and meeting new people, although Saturn brings a certain caution which I think has protected me against being taken advantage of. My nn is in my asc so I have a hard time differentiating them.
Ive noticed the NN because I have an extremely hard time getting over some isolation problems.

I think that there are a lot of people with thier NN sign the same as their Sun moon or ASC and they still do not emobdy the overall energy of that sign.
Lile the example I gave, my friend with the aqua sun scorp moon and leo rising and Aqua NN who acts totally aqua in comparison to my friend who's a virgo sun&moon with leo rising and Leo NN who's really crazy happy all the time and entertaining.
Edit: Wait, nevermind. What I wrote does not make sense at all. And doesnt apply to your situation either. Bahaha you can discard. It's too early I sez! I think Gemini NN plays out in two ways from looking at my birth datas rly quick. Its like it either makes people strictly pursue intellectual pursuits all their life...bookworm. Or makes others who may be less well...what word can i use.....cultured, lol... just rly hyper and playful and the eternal little kid goofin around

i disagree. Any astrologer will tell you that your south node is what comes natural and your north node is what you have to work on.. Besides the nodes are less about personality and more about coping skills and how you deal with you deal with the world.. The circumstances of your current life are trying to mold you to change the way you operate.. For example... One of my friends who also studies astrology has an aries north node and he is afraid of being confrontational or hurting other peoples feelings and tries to play the nice guy ( libra south node) but this approach always flies back in his face... Life constantly throws pushy people his way who test his boundaries and try to walk all over him and he has been forced to become more assertive... Think of the nodes as life strategies... Your south node is the strategy that worked for you in the past but will get you nowhere in this life so you have to mix it up and adopt the strategy of the sign of your north node. Another example...I have cancer south node and I have always been very tribe minded... My natural inclination is to want to be apart of a family/team that nurtures and motivates each other and takes care of each others needs.. My strategy has always been to try and facilitate this by taking care of other people and encouraging them but I never get reciprocation and I just end up frustrated.. I am being forced to grow into an independent and motivated self starter who picks myself up by the bootstraps and gets **** done.. I understand, aquaguy. That's a well-written analysis and a great point. You have to remember, though, that we always strive towards the NN in order to be happy and everyone always strives to be happy daily in every choice they make. so if you aim for something for a long time, you may still hark back to certain SN ways in times of weakness but your preference for your NN is going to be obvious in your actions and choices, therefore saying a lot more about the person you are. And your SN is going to say less about your energy bc even though u may not fully embody cappy qualities(and still have a lot that says cancer), it being your NN, you're overall energy will say cappy bc Cappy is what you choose every day of your life. Yes u might have some cancer negative behaviors but the face u portray will always be more cappy than cancer bc cappy is what u Prefer. It's basically your life goal and life direction, what truly makes you happy. and i think what makes someone truly happy says a lot about a person's basic essence, what theyre really about. Your cancer tendencies aren't hard to see, yes, but you also act pretty stern and no nonsense most of the time on the forum (cappy). I dont see you nurturing people on the forum, I see you more trying to keep everyone in order. And correct them too so they are more realistic. Not motherly behaviors(cancer), but fatherly (cappy) :PI have leo south node and even though my moon in leo is conjunct it, means my mom(moon) always tries to force me to perform and sing for people, I hate it and want nothing to do with it rofl. So obviously performing isnt a part of who i am very much at all. I do not want to spend my life singing or performing in any way. It's not who I am. I want to do something creative and artsy still...but more quirky and behind the scenes.(aqua) ------------------
