So supposedly, the sun/moon midpoint is an angle where your ego subconsciously intersects your id, and the two energies blend. In theory, this is the harmony one attains as 'self' between outward expression and inner emotion.I've also heard theories about how midpoints contacting personal planets in another's chart can create compatibility even if personal planets don't harmonize easily themselves synastrically. Does anyone else tend to identify heavily with their midpoint, what is it, and give examples? My midpoint is in Scorpio at roughly 20 degrees (I'm 1st decan Pisces sun and very early Leo moon), and somehow, despite only having Pluto in Scorpio, and a 1st house Pluto with a mars trine in the seventh/early eighth house, I feel VERY heavily Scorpio. Discuss, please. I'm extremely interested.

I'm Virgo 25 degrees sun and Aquarius 14 degrees moon, which puts my midpoint at around 9-10 degrees in Sagittarius.Wow, I do actually identify more with Sagi energy than either Virgo or Aquarius. Apparently Sagis are life's wanderers, wanting to know the bigger picture, interested in finding answers both in the world and internally. I very much identify with that. I think I'm pretty fiery and can be blunt, which Sagittarius is known for. No wonder I said in a thread elsewhere that I wanted to be Sagi in the next life, because I actually feel that energy already. I have no planets near that midpoint apart from the asteroid Pallas. It trines my natal Mars which is supposed to indicate athletic skills. I am indeed quite sporty. Interesting. Thanks IP: Logged |

It's hard to say because it's in Leo, and I already have a Leo Ascendant with a highly aspected Sun. (No, it doesn't conjunct the Ascendant in case you were wondering - my Ascendant is at 19 degrees Leo, while my Sun/Moon midpoint is at 10 degrees Leo). My Sun and Moon are square each other, though. One thing I can say, is that I will always stay true to myself. No one will take my individuality away from me. I see most things in life as survival of the fittest. That may be a scorpionic view, but I see the Leo themes within it as well because I have a need to ascend above everyone to the top and shine. After all, I am a Leo "Ascend"-ant, rising and shining like the "Sun" over the world. One quote that I seen Solar_Leo_Queen have in her signature thing was "You were born a lion, don't die a sheep." - I can relate to that quote completely, even though I may not be a Leo Sun, nor an actual lion. Gemini Moon and Leo Ascendant? Um, hello, I'm "bi-winning"! Lol. IP: Logged |

Yes I do. Sun in virgo, moon in pisces, Sag midpoint which conjuncts my neptune and together trine my venus/mars conjunction. I have south node in Sag. I also have sag rising, venus/mars in the 9th and jupiter conjunct uranus exact approaching. I have a lot of sag energy, a strong jupiter and nice pluto aspects which result in good coping skills allowing me to handle my sun-moon-neptune tsquare and always bounce back.

Honestly, idk. My midpoint is at 18.30 scorpio. I have mars conjunct Pluto in scorpio. I also have a loaded overactive 8th house. I do identify with Scorpio immensely, but I can't say if it is because of the midpoint. IP: Logged |

5th house Cappy Sun 23d tri 9th house Tauro moon 23dMP = 23d Psc I don't feel anymore Piscean, I suppose? But, maybe I do exhibit some Piscean or Neptunian (seems more appropriate) qualities, since this is opp my 1st house, and Neptune is tightly cnj my ASC/MC ruler. I just don't tend to pick up on it myself (if that makes sense)... But at the same time this is a multiple MP [Sun+Moon MP 23 30'] [Jup+T.Node MP 23 19'] [Nep+T.Node MP 23 49'] Pisces 7th house Synastric connections are deep when the MP is triggered, definitely felt. It's one of two Mps in Pisces that I've often had triggered that did /not/ end up disastrously. Pisces energy is still very alien to me. *The other being... [Moon+Ven MP 4 49'] 6th house Pisces - another hot button point would be the 15/16th degree - but that is both a harsh square and MP, a point of passions and misdirection Venus-T.Node MP, Venus sits on SN - so... square. It often brings relationship trouble via transits, and there is a similar spot late in Leo that works the same... I'm very aware when they're triggered. But, I don't -feel- them in myself, they have to be externally set off through tight cnj or opp.)

Yes I identity with my Sun/Moon midpoint because it's conjunct Venus in Gemini. The best way to put it for me is that I feel balanced.

Uranus 3°28 Capricorn Sun/Moon Midpoint 3°29 CapricornParts of me definitely identify with Uranus. (It also rules my Sun sign.) I like to be different and shake things up; though, I think Saturn prevents me from getting too crazy. IP: Logged |

My near Sun/Moon midpoint is exactly on my North Node. My Vertex is also parallel my North Node. So yes, I definitely identify with it.It's in Pisces. My Neptune is conjunct my MC and Jupiter is conjunct my Sun, in the 1st House. It's all written in my chart over and over. My Chart says "BE PISCEAN DAM*IT!" IP: Logged |

Sun/Moon Midpoints are supposed to be significant in synastry. Does anyone know how to calculate your synastry with someone while using the midpoints on astro.com?IP: Logged |

@Jo B: I totally identify with your wanting to be a certain sign because you identified more with its energies. I've always been very close to Leos, Sagis, Aries, Cappies, and Scorpios! The one I always felt very much like myself, however, was Scorpio. It was insightful to find my midpoint in Scorpio and I felt more "at home." Haha.SaturnineMoth: I read that since the midpoint is an angle, only the person whose angle is aspected by another's planet will feel anything, and that it has to be activated. Therefore, with angular synastry, I think it's important for there to be other factors, so as both parties' angles are activated by each others' personal planets to attain that harmony (and that's if it doesn't already exist in your chart between the planets themselves). Thanks for the post! dadoo: I think it's something we don't notice until we think about it, much like breathing. It just sort of happens, but if you stop for a second, you do notice it. I think of midpoints as the blending of your sun and your moon as to attain harmony. It is often said that those with sun/moon squares or oppositions, or sun/moon in fixed vs cardinal vs mutable signs can have a lot of internal strife/conflict with how they feel and think; i.e. action vs. feeling. I think the harmony lies in the middleground between two signs, adapting qualities from both. I think the zodiac progression is like a gradient. If you take two opposites, say virgo and pisces, and let them represent the colors yellow and blue, the midpoint would be green, or the blending of both energies. I believe the same is true for any midpoint between two signs in the zodiac. MsPrism: My north node is in Pisces as well, and I'm sun Pisces, but sometimes it is so damn hard to move towards that north node, because I want to fall back on my Virgo south node and try and control EVERYTHING in my life to feel secure. Nitpick myself. Scrutinize others. Control, control, control. Ahhhhh. It's enough to want to pull my hair out. Thanks for the replies, everyone; very interesting, indeed. I'm trying to read all I can about midpoints and wanted to see what weight it held in the community here. Would love more examples from other members, too! IP: Logged |
