1. Silver Linings Playbook
2. Whatever Works
3. The story of Luke
4. Her
5. Blue Jasmin
6. As Good as it gets.
7. Midnight in Paris
8. Happy Accidents

I think my mercury in virgo retro conjunct MC opposite moon and squaring neptune (forming a tsquare) plus Uranus ruling my 3rd explains my taste in movies.

Mercury rules my 7th and 10th.

ADD:
Hunger Games, Catching Fire
Pluto conjunct Saturn in the 11th

Fun topic!

1. Apocalypse Now
2. Valhalla Rising
3. The 300
4. Fight Club
5. The Sound of Music

I like moody, visually innovative movies about the warrior experience, focusing on the individual, especially about how a person falls apart inwardly under that hyper-masculine strain. Can you tell I have an Aries Mercury?
And "The Sound of Music". Julie Andrews was the coolest lady in the world to me when I was a kid.

Mercury
Aries, H7.
Trine Uranus&Moon, sextile Jupiter, biquintile Saturn, conjunct Descendant.
45° Mars and in mutual reception with Mars.

I don't think I can think of 5 movies I really like.

But my favorite ones so far have been:

The Matrix (the first)
Underworld 1 & 2
Harry Potter series (don't laugh)
and uh... can't think of anything else at the moment.
Pretty sure I liked the Butterfly Effect though haven't watched it in ages.

Basically fantasy/scifi/dark stuff.

Mercury/Sun conj. in Scorpio

Mercury in Virgo.

I don't like to watch movies that much. I'm not sure if I could think of five but I do love As Good As It Gets.

Shawshank Redemption

Ummmm...

Let me see.
Action movies also. I do like a variety despite not liking to watch many.

The Conjuring was awesome!
I like haunting/ghost movies.

Sorry that I didn't follow your 5.

Mercury sextile Moon

[/QUOTE]

LOL yes they do revolve around love stories BUT not your typical love stories.

A lot of them have mental disorders or conditions as part of the theme involved or there is an element of shock like in whatever works and Her.

Midnight in Paris involves time travel for example and the couples originally together don't end up together..

ADD: Happy Accidents also involves time travelling.
Also mercury rules my 7th so there you go.

Exactly, Cappy.

Being born on the 8th of the month does that to you. Aaaand Saturn of course. You're not immune to that either, ya know (or shouldn't be, if my theory is correct). Don't rejoice too much.
-

Okay then, TV shows.

Supernatural.

Fits the theme. I like the light vs. darkness duality there. And everything else. It's a badass show.

1. Gia
2. Girl, Interrupted
3. Beetlejuice
4. Black Swan
5. Leon, the Professional

A mix that's odd and dark, typical of a Scorpionic person. Notice any commonalities between these? LOL...I feel like Gia also goes with my Moon conj. Chiron, though, and Moon trine Neptune. God, it's a tearjerker. I love it though.

Mercury in Scorpio, 11H (7H ruler)/sq. 8H Mars in Cancer [out of sign square, since it's almost in Leo]/trine 3H Saturn in Pisces

I have lots of movies in my collection.

One of my faves is The Messenger
and there's the remake of War of the Worlds and 12 Monkeys, my favorite Brad Pitt film.
I like Les Yeux Sans Visage
and the weird ghost story filmed on Roosevelt Island, NYC,
Dark Water
which was originally a Japanese film. I have both versions on dvd.

12th house Libra Mercury it conjuncts ascendant, Jupiter, Uranus, sextiles Venus, trines moon, quintiles Mars.

It rules houses 12 and 9.

I like to buy copies of my favorite movies so I have many of them on disk.

This is always hard for me, haha. But...

1) After Fall, Winter
2) Spirited Away
3) Amélie
4) The Dreamers
5) The Sasquatch Gang (if you've seen this, please understand how ridiculous this movie is and how it's hard not to laugh)

I could have listed more/different ones, but I'm always horrible at coming up with things right way

Leo Mercury in the 3rd
Sextile Moon
Conjunct Chiron
Conjunct Eros
Opposite Saturn
