Neptune is on the ASC. that probably lends itself to being fantasy-oriented. and the moon sits in the 2nd... so money through the writing. that is my guess anyway

Hmm...her libra stellium receives a nice sextile from Neptune (1st house Sag) and a sextile from Saturn her 2nd house ruler

I have mercury in virgo retro conjunct MC. I like to write academic papers but uranus rules my 3rd so I tend to somehow find a way to choose topics that are a bit controversial and that I feel are interesting and engaging.

I like to have some freedom to choose on what I am going to write about. The assignment could sound a bit boring but I will somehow find a way to connect it to an interesting provocative topic or approach topic from an expected angle; I do that a lot at school. Its the only way I can write otherwise I wont feel driven to write.

I need to feel that my writing will get you to look at something differently, from a different angle or to question something. I want to light up a spark in you through my writing (I have sparks trine mercury I just realized).

So a professor reads everyone's assignment and then gets to mine and mine will be eccentric compare to the others; it will take the assignment in an unexpected route I suppose. I don't think I will ever write a book though. I don't think I have the discipline for it and that is my limitation in this area.

I like my writing to be thought provoking and its academic or political in nature.

Can you share the information you have on Varuna. I have not found anything about it meaning competence but found the following:

Varuna is the all-knowing creator god in the mythology of India: "He knows the pathway of the wind" (Rig Veda, the oldest of the Vedas and the oldest book in Sanskrit). Varuna is the merciful, supportive, and heavenly king of both the gods and humans who controls the physical order of the universe. He expresses physical power in battle and pro-creative vigor as he upholds cosmic law (not man's law) and a path of order. Varuna is considered to be the protector of people, keeping them from evil.

From a mythological viewpoint, Varuna has traits similar to Quaoar, who supports our return to natural law and the sacredness of life; and also of our more familiar Jupiter, who is also of higher (not man's) law. Vaurna perhaps has more to do with nature's way taking its course, where as Quaroar may have more to do with our relationship with natural law.
http://www.lunarplanner.com/asteroids-dwarfplanets/Varuna.html

I also found this about Varuna:

Varuna (2000 WR106) was discovered in 2000 and given designation minor planet 20,000 -- a big honor for the discoverers R. S. McMillan and J. A. Larsen. This was the first planet beyond Pluto to get a name. [It was not the first discovered -- that was 1992 QB1, which has not yet been named.] Varuna has an orbital period of 282 years. Varuna is a mighty god, one of the supreme creation deities of pre-Vedic history, still revered today by many, and this was a landmark astronomical discovery, in part because of its size.

The energy of Varuna is that which is too large to comprehend. In this respect, it has some attributes of the 12th house --, the house of overwhelming or incomprehensible aspects of life that act out of sight or in the deep background.

One astrologer who has done some interesting work with Varuna is Juan Revilla of Costa Rica. In an email conversation a few years ago, Juan explained to me his interpretation that Varuna is quite literally "behind everything" -- a potent and ominous force lingering in the far reaches of our lives. Among the many deities who have had planets and asteroids named for them, Varuna's energy seems closest to what we think of as God, the all-knowing cosmic entity that exists silently behind consciousness and events.

Varuna (now in Cancer) also deals with the punishment of liars and those who violate contracts. In earlier times, mortals who did not keep their word would meet his wrath. He could bestow immortality as well. Astrological associations noted by Revilla include the impersonal laws of nature (as opposed to human nature) and the incomprehensible cosmic order (as opposed to the order of society). Questions of the gain and loss of reputation, and the issue of immortality through fame, seem inevitable with this planet.

My phrase for Varuna is, "the great equalizer."

What do you think about Varuna?? I would love to see the info you have on it and read up on it or hear your opinion on it?

Very interesting response! Thanks for sharing.

Asteroid Iris Astrology

Asteroid Iris astrologically shows up liars through the element of water. This could be through cleansing, tears that well up out of nowhere or even alcohol. Iris is not really the one who punishes, that would be Jupiter’s and Juno’s job, but she is the goddess of revelation.

In ones chart, Iris will show where you cannot succeed in lying. If you act sneaky, success in this area will be literally “put to sleep” until you learn to be more honest in your dealings. The rainbow has a yearning, hopeful quality to it. Indeed justice will be done and the sunshine will prevail if you conduct your business in Iris’s house with integrity. The position of Iris will be where you can find your pot of gold, but only if you act with a pure heart.

Where Iris sits in the birth chart shows where you must retain hope, where you need to be truthful and where you search for unity and healing.

________________________________

As for Elatus this is what I found:

"Elatus has an incredible ability to escape from the most dificult situations, like Morfeo-Neo in the movie "The Matrix" (1999).

Astrologically, Elatus seems to indicate expression, expressiveness, eloquence, to mislead, to deceive (possibly oneself); possibly "dodging a bullet" or maneuvering away from attack.

My friend Roger is a natural story teller and fantasy writer. In his chart here you can see the conjunction of Sun and Uranus in Gemini; Mercury-Venus up near the MC and square Neptune at the Asc; the parallel of the Sun with Mercury; Mercury contra-parallel Jupiter.

BEING A NOVELIST IS MY ABSOLUTE DREAM! I practically own a house and enjoy outdoor walks in my imagination! I have five major ideas for novels and want to be a best-selling author. I dabble in poetry - while in college, I had pieces published (not a single one turned down) in the school's magazine. I took a journalism class in high school and the principle said I gave the best interview she ever had. I majored in English Literature with a minor in Art in college. I've always had an affinity for reading, creative writing, and deep comprehension with literature. I can't even think of having a real, full-time career because my heart keeps pulling me into the direction of being a novelist...but sadly, I also have doubts and don't think/know if I'll ever make a good writer or actually be good enough to make a living off of it. But perhaps I could? Here are my connections.

- Taurus is my Ascendant AND my Mercury. They conjunct each other.

- Gemini Stellium. Sun, Moon, Venus, and Jupiter. All in the 1st house. I'm a Sun-Dominant person too.

- Sun, Moon, and Jupiter all conjunct each other. Moon conjuncts Venus.

- 2nd House is Gemini. Venus is in 2nd House.

- My 3rd House is Cancer. I have Mars in it (Cancer) and sextiles my Mercury and it semi-sextiles my Moon, the ruler of Cancer. My Moon is Gemini. Moon Conjunct Venus. So, they're connected to each other through Venus. 2nd House and 3rd House (indirectly) connected. (I know it's really the first house, but I'm trying here. lol). But, now my Mars also joins the 2nd and 3rd House (indirectly, again) because of the Moon.

- My Venus semi-sextiles both my Mercury and Ascendant.

- My Sun (Gemini) and Mercury (Taurus)trine my Midheaven (Aquarius).

- My Gemini Moon bi-quintiles my Pluto. My Pluto is Scorpio and is in my 6th House, which is Libra.

- My Venus sesqui-quadrates my Pluto and bi-quintiles my Midheaven

- Venus also trines my North Node (Aquarius as well).

- My Mercury sesqui-quadrates my Neptune (8th House, Capricorn).

- My Neptune sesqui-quadrates my Ascendant also.

- Virgo is the ruler of my 5th House. I have Juno and Eros in it...that's about it.

- This may be pushing it, but I just realized that my Mercury is connected to Jupiter through the Moon as well. Moon Conjunct Jupiter and the Moon Semi-Sextiles my Mercury.

- In lieu of the former thought, that would also mean that, because of the Moon, Venus comes into contact with Jupiter because the Moon (again) conjuncts both Jupiter and the Venus. All three which are in Gemini. Jupiter is also the ruler of Sagittarius, who rules my 8th House.

- My Sun quincunxes Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto.

- However, My Saturn sextiles my Pluto and my Pluto sextiles my Neptune -which is why I have two yods that sort of work as one. But with the Saturn-Pluto connection, I am determined as hell to become a novelist!

- My Mars (Cancer, 3rd House) bi-quintiles my Midheaven (Aquarius, 10th House).

- My Uranus (Capricorn, 8th House)- which conjuncts my Saturn and Neptune (they're all in the same boat and retrograde)- semi-sextiles my Midheaven.

- My Pluto squares my Midheaven.

- Pisces is my 11th House Ruler. I have Pallas Athena in 11th House - but in Aries. Which is the co-sign of Mars. My Mars is in the 3rd House. So (indirectly, or perhaps, not at all) my 3rd House and 11th House interact with one another. Especially since my Mercury sextiles my Mars and sesqui-quadrtes my Neptune. Mercury unites Mars and Neptune.

- Jupiter is the natural ruler of the 9th House. Jupiter conjuncts my Moon - ruler of the 3rd House naturally. BUT my Moon also semi-sexitles my Mars - which is in my 3rd House. So, indirectly because of the Moon, the 3rd and 9th Houses are tied together.

Thoughts, anyone?

What about a professor at a research university?? You could work on your writing while you teach perhaps...

I definitely think you have promising aspects for writing, teaching, and even research maybe. How does this suggestion feel?

Definitely! The potential is without a doubt there. I really like mercury in Leo in the first which would give you a strong desire to express yourself and I feel mer. in Leo is probably very good for creative writing so novels would be a good fit. I like that merc. Conjuncts your 2nd cusp showing making a living expressing yourself via writing.

I love that square chiron and vesta in tauras in the 10th, this will give you good material for writing, give you discipline and make writing a healing experience for you.

The conjunction to Jupiter, semisextile to Saturn/2nd and venus/12 will give you discipline to turn writing into making money as well as the confidence and optimism plus motivation and imagination needed to succeed in this field. Mercury sextile Pluto would add depth and square Uranus would add creativity and an element of surprise that will keep things interesting.

I'm not too sure...I mean, I don't mind expanding the minds of people or researching things that I love, but I can't stand office jobs. lol. It's a complexity I have. But I love to travel.

Really? I have promising aspects for writing?! That's excellent! Could I be a good writer with these aspects, do you think? I have so many ideas for novels and I love to do research for them - if I get really in depth with them. Like I have one idea that involves history of the Nazi's and WWII. It's an historical drama/suspense/romance.

*sigh* I so hope to be successful and make a decent living off of writing novels.

That sounds like a great idea for a novel and for a script of a movie as well! I think you should do it but suggested the teaching/research so you can pay the bills while you work on your writing and then once your writing career takes off focus only on writing. However if you can focus on your writing right away then do so....! I already want to read it or watch the movie hahaha.

It's all of my Virgo, definitely: Mercury, Venus, and Mars in Virgo (in the 8th), as well as my Moon sextile Mercury (and a load of other Mercury aspects). I love, love writing. I've also always had great handwriting and have always been complimented on it, since I was a kid.

I'm a freelance writer and write creatively (as well as perform): screenplays, stage plays, as well as stories. I really love writing and it just feels like something second nature to me. It all flows out of me and I'm always very clear in my writing.

I've always loved words and when I was a teenager, I used to browse the dictionary for fun! Seriously, just skimming through and picking up new words or reading the definitions of words I liked. I still get a kick out of looking words up on online dictionaries sometimes.
