Virgo moon in the 8th

I do get picky about my food sometimes, mostly very picky about meat which can easily really turn me off. I can get compulsive with my food and ill spend a great amount of time preparing it and fine tuning these small details of a dish because I really want it to be an experience.

In a way. I love food that's arranged magnificently and tastes as good as it looks (Lunar Leo), but I have to have something sweet when the mood calls for it... I suppose that's Aphrodite sextile Artemis.

Like you, I have an Aquarius moon.

I am Lunar dominant though, so I like food quite a bit. Sweet things, creamy things. I do like variety in my food though. Me gusta foreign foods. Grand Nana's stack of homemade recipes isn't gonna cut it.

I have a really irregular eating pattern though. It's impossible for me to eat "healthy", but I've been on the Paleo diet for over a year on and off, and I really like it. (Paleo = no carbs, no processed foods, no sugar, no artificial stuff, and limited dairy)

I also have a tendency of eating one food too much. Like one time when I was really young, I ate edaname (green beans) for the whole day because I really liked them. I didn't eat anything else, just the edaname. By the end of the day, I was feeling sick and didn't edaname for the rest of the year (now, quite a bit older, I kinda like edaname. But I wouldn't eat it for an entire day).

There was one summer where all I "ate" were protein smoothies. They tasted kinda gross, but I got like, a four-pack (I am female). So I was proud of that.

Hmmm, yeah. There will be some days where I'll devour anything that qualifies as nonlethal and Paleo, and other days, at the end of the day, I'll be like, "Oh yeah, so today, I ate.... an almond?"

Reaaallly irregular.

Astrology is an ancient practice that earned its place in this world, but it's also - a black art. Since it revolves around ancient mythology, astronomy and psychology - i can see some educational value in Astrology (more or less - depending on ones interest or passion for it) - and, maybe even more than that - it can also be taken as an extra proof that we're part of this Universe (that we're evolving along with it and we're not divided - as God's special children - as depicted in religious scriptures). It can be entertaining - and i do value the fun side of it, but - it can also be dangerous "if taken seriously..." - if one would try to implement astrology in its daily life (it's ungraspable to that extent - and not meant to be grasped in such way - to begging with). It can numb ones existence/life - and devoid him/her of certain opportunities/choices one would normally make - by simply... "living life" - without astrology as some kind of daily guide for it. Same goes for astro-labeling and astro-stereotypes - where again... one would dodge certain people - simply because they fall in a pattern - he/she sees as threatening (simply put it "judging a book by its cover"). A bad practice of astrology... i presume, because - that's not how it works. It's one thing - to play with astrology while reflecting on past events... and another - to use it for present and future events. Because one - would be living in its head and can even go insane (loose contact with reality) - while taking into account all kind of probabilities/possibilities of... other probabilities/possibilities. An unhealthy addiction - i might add, since it can disconnect one from its inner being... which in turn - leads to a feeling of emptiness (how deep... that depends on the level of disconnection). An emptiness that can only be filled from the inside - but i guess we forget how to do that once we feel that disconnected - and, we keep trying to fill that emptiness while relaying on external sources... That's one way to put it - i guess.

I think what you were quoting as people doing was what you yourself potentially did. But I'm sure it's not uncommon for people to dodge people based on their sign. Or to at least judge them. I used to do that.

But I wanted to add for me, personally, when I started learning astrology, I have the North Node in First house you see, an obsession with knowing your self identity, well I would read about my placements and I would magnify the effects, like being emotionally intense, I never was THAT emotionally intense growing up, but a little while after reading many descriptions of how I was emotionally intense, I became, VERY emotionally intense. So in turn, our mind, we-ourselves, create distortions, unnatural ones, in our minds, that shouldn't be there, simply by reading paragraphs telling us what we are like. We believe it. It's not good really. Maybe I'm just a poor case. HAHA. But anyway. Try to stay in touch with the original and true you, before you let yourself merge into a distortion of your true self, magnifying things that arent there, like I did. That was in my pot smmoking days, Pot really messed with me you see, I dont smoke it anymore, It freaks me out.
Thanks for reading

Cancer moon and this exactly. I looooove food but it's gotta be good food or I will rather just go hungry lol. We'll depends on how hungry but I usually would just rather not eat and wait until I can eat some thing good. I don't like anything that's too... Uh... I don't know how to put it, cheap American? And I love creamy anything too. I seriously have a nice cream problem.

Taurus moon and surprisingly, I don't eat Tauruses. I don't eat beef that is, 99% of the time. I admit every once in a blue moon I will eat a beef hot dog, liver, pepperoni or experience hamburger meat in chili or something. It's rare and when I do, I look for the leanest I can find. I am all about the lean.

I prefer sea food (especially salmon) and poultry to beef or pork. I eat pork more than beef. I try to eat vegetables.
Before I go to the gym, my fave thing to have is some mashed potatoes made with russets that still have their skin, cooked slowly in this shallow dutch oven I have. I find it gives me so much energy and I don't feel run down or overly fully, either. Much like Taurus, I believe food tastes better if it is allowed to cook slowly. I love seasonings, hate anything bland.
I have an enormous sweet tooth I must keep in check.
I can be fairly disciplined about how much I eat. I reach the point, eventually, I want to binge on sugary desserts.
I have a list of things I can't eat or drink, including juices which tend to tear up my digestive system. It's mostly preservative laced foods and juices except for a little bit of orange and Acai Berry, Sometimes raw onions and certain varieties of legumes.
I go out to eat at places like Panera Bread and Old Chicago Pizza. I like to go out to eat. Chicago style crust is my fave and I love the lemony raw spinach leafs on the Tuscany pizza.
Ice cream is my least fave dessert. I like apple pie, chocolate and tapioca pudding, whipped cream, I like really smooth chocolate cake and don't you dare put coconut flakes anywhere near it. Coconut flakes are one thing that can really mess something up. I also cannot stand rice pudding.

@7th

Sounds like the bad outweighs the good for you...I do see what you mean about how it can be dangerous, and I have definitely mis-used astrology in my own life before...and still carry regrets about decisions made through astro-logic when they should have been made more on a gut level and with my heart.

I don't mean to keep "interviewing" you , but you do have me curious when you call astrology a *black art.* Are you insinuating that there is an element of evil involved with it...or the potential for evil to develop within the context of an astrology reading?

Where I see that value in it is...I just regard the birth chart as containing a bit of truth about a person. When I can SEE someone's Mercury sign or moon sign playing out in their expressions, and accurately guess that sign...it reiterates for me that astrology is aligned with reality.

But maybe...it's a shallow reality? Maybe there is a lot more beneath all that, that I will miss if I focus too much on what's astrologically recognizable. Hmm!

(Sorry, OP, for veering way off topic!)

Hmm, that would be my Mars. I can be picky about certain food at first, and be a little boring with it, but I absolutely must have some kind of 'bite' with my food. i also have Sag moon in 12th--definitely got that "will try anything once" mentality!

And, I misjudged others as well - but usually "people who promoted themselves as kind and friendly" - yet, latter - they turned-up to be the most malicious/machiavellian people i ever met. The next examples - might gave you a clearer image of - what i mean by that:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZkymkEse4Y

Well, I'm pretty "unusual" myself and - that's saying to little. >_<!

As the saying goes - "we become, what we think" - and to a big extent - that's quite true. But, there's also a delusional aspect to this notion - as in: what we think - what we hope to become, could manifest only internally (in our mind) - if we lack the potential to express that belief of ourselves on the outside (in one way or the other). Nonetheless - even if we chose to live in our head, that does become a reality - a state of existence. Even though - it takes place only inside of our bubble (our personal world) - one we could share with others alike. The thing is - "if you hope, and prove to be capable..." of becoming "something that's already defined" - the other people, the audience of your endeavors - should recognize that potential in you quite easily.

So - yes, it's quite common - for humans to identify themselves with what they practice - or with a current or past state of being (even a disease). As we go through life - we adopt all kind of identities (derived from our own ego - or newly developed alter egos) - inspired from our surroundings/entourage/media, from what we practice or from a current or past state of being (as it's case - with those who have a hard time letting go). And to some extent - we are all those things - (they do affect us in one way or another).
We might not quack like a duck, swing like a duck and look like a duck - but when you join the duck club - it's enough to set your mind on what it's like to be a duck and take its identity - as a way to fit in. We've all been there starting from childhood.

That's ok. I don't see why you'd apologize for something like that. :)
As for your question - that's not a personal notion, it's suppose to be - common knowledge. It goes hand in hand with Tarot, Palmistry and others alike. As mentioned before - it can be dangerous - it can delude people into negative thoughts and confusion (as you can see on astrology forums)... but, it's not just that. If it's evil or not - i guess that depends on who uses astrology and to what extent.

The first thing that poped into my mind while reading your question (even a gut feeling if you will): don't involve children into Astrology.
While introducing astrology to all kind of friends - most were curious of what i could tell them about their charts, and - since i got the hang of a natal chart reading - they seem like a good place to start and test my skills. It felt awkward sometimes - but since their interest was feeding my passion for astrology - i couldn't help myself... was whiling to do a natal reading for almost anyone i'd met. But then... something happened - two close friends of mine asked me to do a reading for their child and i accepted without thinking twice about it - but while working on it... i got a really bad feeling about it - felt really wrong... so... i didn't give to them. They kept asking and kept insisting - but i kept dodging it. The way i see it... i was interfering with that child's future - and his path thorough life and if i give them that reading... the way they'd act as parents - based upon it, could alter it - in ways that shouldn't be altered. More than a year passed and another friend was asking for something similar for the newly born child of a close acquaintance of his... and again, while working on it - that feeling hit me again. This friend - was also interested in astrology, even more than that - he's the one who introduced me to it. So i talked with him about some things from that child's chart - but urged him to forget about it... and avoid talking with his acquaintance - of what he found of out.

My advice... don't mix children with astrology. When they're old enough - if they develop an interest for astrology on their own, that's a different story - "a path they chose" - but don't make that chose for them. That... feels wrong.

But maybe...it's a shallow reality? Maybe there is a lot more beneath all that, that I will miss if I focus too much on what's astrologically recognizable. Hmm!

Yeah, that was one of my points. For awhile now - i started comparing people from astrology forums with people from real life (objectively speaking) - while taking in consideration some transit and it just didn't add-up. For example: that Mercury retrograde - from June -> July. There was a topic about it here on forum - and some of those replying to it acted so desperate while focusing on negative events/outcomes related to it - which surprisingly... didn't seem to affect "the other people from real life". While here - they were crying for those days - to go away and Mercury to turn direct, near my city - this event was taking place: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TT6VndrijlU - where people were having the time of their life and hoping for those days to last as long as possible (or forever - as they put it, that's how happy they were). Out of this two groups - who was missing something, a life experience - they could have enjoyed if their mind wasn't stuck - on those days as negative... expecting such scenarios? But hey, don't take my word for it - tried it out for yourself. The key is in - being objective and take people for what they are - while ignoring certain details (related to a transit - as it's the case with astrology) that could make you focus at those details alone.

PS.Don't quote. :)

11th h scorp moon, jupiter conj. mercury at 0-2 virgo in the 9th. I can't stand most "strong" tasting food can't stand salt either. A lot of people I know will add salt to their meals, and I just.. I don't understand. This tastes like a pile of salt, flavored with some 'meal'! I've been a smoker for 8 years and still have a stronger sense of taste and smell than a lot of people.. But I do love foreign foods, spicy or not. I got bored with what I know a while ago. No strong appetite either, unless it's new and amazing. I love garlic and onions, I'd use it in so many things. I hope I don't smell like it too.
I always thought pork tasted dirty. People think I'm a muslim convert lol. nope.
When I learned about the religious views on pork, I just thought, well, duh.
Maybe it's the 9th house/sag asc thing? Idunno. I'd love to try all the middle-eastern food I can. Eastern-European too. Guess I have a thing for the East.

Also, I agree with 7th about astro-logic and all. I try to be extra careful with that. Can't stand when people talk about their child like "oh, isn't he such a leo!" when they're being bratty. Uh, no, please raise your child like any living, unique person lmao.

I'm a late Pisces Moon in 6th house and my appetite isn't very big. When I'm worried or emotionally upset/stressed, I will starve until I take care of whatever it is that caused me problems. I enjoy lighter fare of foods, exotic, tasteful, dainty, and very fresh/clean. It doesn't have to be the healthiest or whatever, it just has to be wonderful and varied flavors.

Sag Moon in 11H.

I am definitely a lover of good food, especially local and traditional. One of the major attractions in foreign countries is food, I like to indulge myself in slow and lavish meals. I am by no means picky, if it's fresh, made of healthy and quality produce, I'll eat anything. I like to cook, but have to try a completely new recipe once in a while. I avoid junk food, its taste is boring and does nothing for my health (Moons ruler in 6H).

Thanks for the reply. The Electric Castle looks fun!

I don't like giving readings...it's taken me a while to figure that out. I might say a few things if people ask but I've learned to keep it simple, not use the request as an invitation to dissect someone's life and subject them to a long and complicated justification for why I said what I said.

Mmm...children and astrology...I guess the same thing applies: make it a conversation, not an indoctrination, and keep the technicalities to a minimum. My oldest son is interested in astrology but he's exploring it slowly and with more skepticism than belief....fine by me. I wouldn't push it on anyone.

As for Mercury Rx, it seems to mess up my spelling, that's all. Have to proofread more and cope with the errors I miss (annoying to my 6H Mercury!)

All the best ~

It's not really my kind of fun (i can go with the flow for awhile - but I'm not that fond of crowded places) - but it was entertaining for those who are into that. Was giving that example - from the perspective of an observer. I mean, that event took place between 19 and 22 June and at that time Mercury was in Retrograde (7 June -> 2 July). And as you're well aware - some of those who practice Astrology - have this negative attitude when it comes to a transit like a Mercury in retrograde. They predict all kind of problems with electrical devices - and they advise other to avoid organizing events or making any kind of deals during that period. Yet... an event like Electric Castle (a 3 day music festival - where the concerts are the main attraction - but as you can see in the video - there's also other extra events - meant to fill in and keep you entertain during that time) - needs a lot of organization and it implies a tons of electrical devices. So, if that would be true - that even should have been a major fail enveloped in the predicated chaos of Mercury in retrograde... but - in practice/reality: there was no such incident, on the contrary - the event was a success for both parties (the organizer and the participants). I'd take it - they had little or no knowledge of Astrology and this misery trend for this specific aspect - so, they didn't expect the descriptions of Mercury in retrograde - to manifest, instead - they focused on positive expectations - and reaped what they sow.

I don't know about others - but I'm not looking to replace one religion with another. I'm not saying - that astrology doesn't work, after all - we're also connected with the rest of the Universe - but there seems to be a lot of misunderstanding regarding the way we are affected by what lies above. And it's not just about - inaccurate descriptions which people try to force in their life - sometimes even inviting negative events, there's a bigger mistake than that - as in: projecting our choices into the stars - as if we're just puppets controlled by destiny through star configurations and local planets. Therefore - people who look at astrology in this way: take it as a way to dodge responsibility for "their choices" and project it on what lies above. Basically - they don't want to take responsibility for who they are and the choices they make - instead they look at stars for directions and casting blame. Kinda like blaming the rain for having a bad day - as if the rain is responsible for your choice to treat that day with negativity - cause the rain didn't fit with your expectations. When, all you had to do was - switch your perspective - adapt to the rain and find another way to make that day a positive experience. It's not always easy - especially when we're dealing with some emotional stuff - but extending a negative attitude - doesn't sound like a wise choice.

Maybe a Mercury Retrograde - can inspire us to be more self-conscious, so - we could use that as an advantage to be more introspective. Doesn't take away our ability to deal with external stuff. In same way we can turn on the lights - and do stuff during night time, while our body - would prefer a good night sleep.

My own eating habits have been always unpredictable.

I love Mediterranean, Thai and Mexican foods most. I like spicy foods.

I've had periods when I eat too much and periods where I eat way too little.

[I edited some parts]

Cancer Sun and Moon conjunct in 6H, ruler of 6th is in 6th.
My Moon is also sextile Saturn and quincunx Aqua Uranus in 1st.

I might edit some parts later... sigh..

I am an Aqua moon.
My dinner was 2 chocolate bars, a bag of chips and a chocolate mouse just because.
I think it's been days since the last time I ate fruit altough I am craving it.
Last week all I ate one day was half a pizza left from the day before.
Half the times I just don't feel like cooking lunch or dinner.
Mostly i make u something fast, like cook pasta, salad and ill fry some cheese and onions.
I am so obsessed with onions right now i have to eat them with everything.
And I've made meals for myself that were mushrooms, onions and melted cheese.Nothing else.
And i want to eat healthier because it will make me smarter and just better but I am too erratic with food I guess...
But since my moon is also in the 12th house, if I don't hate something and it's put in front of me Ill probably eat it.

I have Sagittarius moon in the sixth.

I have a huge sweet tooth and I can definitely overdo it, but I always prefer fresh foods. I feel like I'm withering away when I eat badly. I love eating plain old fruit, and I eat a lot of Greek yogurt as a snack. I like to eat healthy foods and different or exotic foods. Sushi is my favorite food, hands down.

I'm a virgo moon 1st house, 1st decanate...

I LOVE FOOD, I love to eat, but I feel I eat more for anxiety rather than hunger.
I have went throught a lot of diets, since age 13, I decided to eat less, so I really screwed my eating habits. Then at 17 I went through a hardcore diet when I cut off almost anything, but I developed this anxiety for sugar and cakes. Then at 18 I went to see a doctor, I went through another diet and learnt to eat better and healthy, but as I started to forget my weight obsession, now I feel I eat a lot of bad things and I can't stop eating cakes, cookies or something sweet=(
