Chart ruler (Pluto) loosely conjunct asc from 12th house.

In Vedic astrology, the 6th,12th,8th and 7th are said to not be "hot" houses for the ruler of the 1st house to be in.

The 6th is "averse" to life; What the 1st house represents and does. So people with 1st house ruler in 6th often have chronic illnesses or some sort of physical impairment they acquire or are born with.

The 7th is "opposing" the 1st house of self. So someone who has the ruler of 1st house in 7th will depend on the feedback of others, on who they are/Should be

This could be dangerous because it can create an individual who is overly dependent on others' support and will not do things to oppose those that he deems important to relate with- even to his own detriment.

The 8th is sudden mishaps or losses. And so, as you can imagine, having the ruler of the 1st house(life) in the 8th (loss)can be ehm... challenging.

The individual may go through many cathartic experiences(depending on how she defines the "losses" and "gains" she makes) with regards to relationships, family ties and material possessions.

It can also indicate someone who can suddenly pass away or has a significant person in their life suddenly pass on.

1st house ruler in the house of secrets and all that is hidden(12th) suggest someone who may secretly suffer or be abused in some way.

Also, the individual may go through some sort of mental/physical incarceration(either due to mental illness or external violence).

Being falsely accused or being seen as someone "dodgy" is characteristic of someone who has the ruler of 1st in 12th.

The individual is likely to feel very invisible in their life. And not able to express themselves very well away from the confines of a private space;home, family, personal computer etc.

They all sound so fatalistic So take each with a pinch of salt really.

I have mercury in Taurus in the 12. Placidus chart. Though Koch charts shows it in the 11th and an equal house chart shows it in the 11th as well.

I am not sure which interpretation to go for.

Going back to your post - I was the birth family greatly hated and loathed scapegoat. Both birth parents were very selfish and narcissistic. The birth Father stormed out of my life when I was 8. Saturn in the 12 square to MC and node. He was deeply frustrated with his station in life (Cardinal t square with sun, mars and uranus.)

I suffer from PTSD, as a result of a deeply traumatic childhood. Because of a lot of people not understanding mental illness and the stigma around it, I choose to stay at home and don't go out much. I am deeply private and don't let many people into my life.

Oh my *many hugs.

Yes, it sounds like you have been through some very painful ordeals in your life and much of the people in your life have used you as a disposable trash can- for all their issues.

Is there some light for you at the end of this tunnel? Some way to alleviate these experiences or make sense of them?

I think you have found for yourself another haven. This is an ideal place for you to "unload" some of your burdens.

I don't have ruler of 1st in 12th, but i do have a stellium in 8th and since finding this forum years ago, I've come to better understand what I am all about.

And btw in my experience if the ruler of the 1st house is in the 11th, the person is usually pushed "outward" into the world.

They find that their association is with the groups, teams, organizations, political parties etc. and they tend to feel great affinity for them.

Also, there is less need for introversion, introspection or self analysis. Unless there are other mitigating factors in the chart. But generally the individual is more "detached" from overly personal issues.

The 12th house individual however is marked by a need to hide away, to re-group and recharge. They, like someone who has Pisces placements/Neptune strong in their chart, tends to "absorb" much of life experiences and detachment is not possible.

I didn't include 1st house planet of uranus conj Scorpio asc but I can make more sense of my role in the family this way.

I caused disruption because I was unplanned, my dad's relationship split. But my parents married and lived in a cottage in a village so it also brought a quaint outer stability (asc opp sun maybe?) although also they had lots of parties .. So can see that mixed environment, contrast right there.

I've been disruptive except the rare times my family have faced disruption and then I've been mature and supportive.

My dad said at that time it was like they couldn't spend money fast enough, they didn't know what to do with it. Suppose they made investments around that time.

Although just realised my brother also has Scorpio asc with uranus in first and he wasn't any trouble. He also didn't bring my parents together. He did preempt moving to a bigger house and would have had the same environment of semi-isolated but lots of excitement. Interestingly too both labours were very fast, under half an hour.

I have a Virgo Asc, conjunct hera, trine Juno, square pluto, pallas and lilith. Pluto is also conjunct IC.

I looked and acted very innocent, but I was anything but that as a child. I knew what people expected, how to make them like me, how to be diligent, how to make it appear my family was 100% percent in order. How to bolster their reputation. I learned very young how to look like I have everything in order and everything's fine when it rarely was the case. I just closed off from everyone because I had some serious emotional issues when I was younger. Moon conjunct Saturn in opposite house. I looked up to my mom a lot, I guess that's how I became so coy. I just could never take the constant disappointment from her and living a lie so I eventually became my rebellious little aries self.

"Leo Asc: birth received lots of attention; the happy one"

Yep! Interesting And I generally do not confide in family members, that's just the way it is. I'm always happy & everything's fine, etc. I feel more uncomfortable breaking the facade and having any of them worry about me than I do keeping everything in.

Thanks for your full answer, it was interesting...just want to say that I am also naive and used to be hyper-alert, looking for "signs" everywhere. That died off over time until there's barely any of it left. Just some lingering psychic/paranormal stuff that I mentioned on your moon thread.

Thank you

When Saturn moved into Scorpio and opposed my Mercury, is when I restarted, processing and working through my issues. I came to terms with how my birth father was with me a long time ago and just recently come to terms with my birth mother.

Jan 2013, circumstances fixed itself, with the whole entire birth family storming out of my life. I am dead to them now. I am blessed now, cause I don't have to put up with the very negative stuff.....

It was very bad decisions being made upon learning about the birth mother being pregnant with me. They did not have the capability or capacity to care for a child for follow through with a long term commitment. I knew something was wrong, very early in life and spent over half my childhood trying to free myself and to get away from those who harmed me.

Though I am thankful for my maternal grandparents and uncle Junk for be g in my life and showing me what being a true family was about.

Right now Uranus sits right on my natal sun opposite natal uranus. T pluto sits in my Mars and many other heavy transit aspects.

Moon in Cancer trine to Neptune in Sag may show the influence my maternal grandma had on me. The birth mother is shown by Venus in Pisces square to Jupiter and Neptune Con in Sag.....the birth mother misrepresented who she was towards me.

Thank you for listening

As for groups, I would join them, but the membership was short lived. Drop in groups etc are good. Sometimes dealing with other leaves me feeling confused....not as much now, much younger, yes.

I'm Pisces rising with a lot of aspects to it.

Square mercury, venus, jupiter, and neptune.

Trine moon and uranus.

I'm relatively new to astrology. Most of my life I've read about the planetary placements but as far as interpreting for myself, well, I'm working on that.

Square mercury, they're passionately political and if I disagreed with them slightly I'd get an aggressive and explosive response.

Square neptune, they're of the persuasion that belief in anything is borderline mental illness and a danger to society while I'm the exact opposite. I love all religions, I love philosophy, I love studying the different ideas and spiritual schools so that was something I have to keep to myself around them, much like the politics!

I'm not sure how a square venus would apply in my childhood experience with my parents and I need to learn more about jupiter's role in any experiences. I will say my mom was kind of a man hater and she raised me to be sexist and that did affect my relationships later on for a really long time.

The trine moon, my mother no matter what loved me very much and made that clear. She was very expressive in that sense.

Trine uranus, despite their adamant dislike of anything regarding a soul or spirits, they're very open to the weird and fostered that in me.

Pisces rising, my mother was very young and I was a surprise. She wasn't ready to grow up so there was still drug use when I was really young. I was what some people call a "bar baby" - the kind that got dragged to parties when a baby sitter couldn't be found and there was traffic in the home. There was a lot of negativity so there was a lot of escapism in me when I was young with reading and fantasy.

I had to move in with my grandparents eventually because I started to run away all the time but I loved my grandparents and was really close to them. I wanted to live with them for as long as I could remember.

And I get along with my parents really well now, we can get along as long as we don't live together and as long as I don't talk about anything spiritual or political when I visit them! We just clashed too hard when we were under the same roof. My mom is a Leo and my dad is an Aries. He raised me since I was a baby, my father is a Cancer and I didn't meet him until I moved in with my grandparents, we didn't establish a relationship until I turned 30 and reached out to him in a more substantial way, actually. My parents hated him, my mom still does, so he only stayed away because they pushed him out.

Both of them are kind of complex and have their own problems, but 1 of my brothers died from suicide last year... so the family on my mothers side is very devastated these days.

There was never that much focus on me... I guess my brothers needed it more. I am suspected to be very independant, and I was never a spoiled child either. But somehow I always needed their help anyways especially my mother. We had a very close relationship for many years, were we talked a lot. But my mother got a serious illness, and then there was my brother who took a lot of her energy until the day he died.

I have actually felt a bit overseen through my childhood and teenager years... like there was never really room for me anywhere. Some years I felt very lost as a child/teenager, and not at home anywhere.

These days I take care of my own problems and my own life, and I dont talk much with my family at all anymore. We have minimum contact, and I never really call even my mother anymore, nor my dad or my other brother.
It's not that I dont want to, but we just had so much drama that I cant really take anymore.

I'm not sure what my role is, maybe the invisible one? Or the rebel? At least the kind of child who isn't really there and not calling

I'm a cancer ascendant by the way...

I can very much relate to some of the things said in this post. I read the cancer asc at the end and decided to chime in.

According to my parents, I was a planned child. Born through emergency csection. Father passed when I was younger. I am the oldest.

I'm kind of like the family black sheep. Very different from my siblings and kind of distanced... especially lately. I rarely talk to my mom and when I do I get an earful about something my brother or sister did or need. I guess my role is active listener (or inactive in the crab shell lol). If I need anything, its always "you always figure it out. Take care".

I've thought preferential treatment towards my siblings (more so brother) may have been in my head but I've had a handful of close friends ask if I was adopted. I am definitely not the spoiled one.

Somewhere in this thread I also read cancer asc needs to be taken care of. As much as I probably need it and would love it, its not happening for me.
