The 1st house rules the self and how you come across to others. Many would even say that the 1st house is your outward personality,your image and how you present yourself.

I dated someone who had Venus in 1st. He seemed to look good in anything he wore. Even a ragged T-shirt. There was some poetry in the way that clothes fit him.And that's no lie.

Another friend has Cap Asc with no planets there.But he does have the 1st house ruler (Saturn)conjunct Jupiter.

He hates tight things and will often go for "comfort" more than anything else.He doesn't seem to care for clothes and appreciates the uniform he wears to work.

He says its less hassle to think of what to wear etc.

The last example I will use is a Virgo I know who has Pluto in the 1st house.

I wouldn't say that he goes out wearing black clothes etc.But he does like his shades. Even when they are not necessary(at night).

I also notice that he likes his clothes tight-fitting.I don't know if that is a Pluto thing.

State your 1st house planet/planets. Do you think it influences your dress sense?

I dress very casual and comfortable. Nothing like all black, or very bright. I don't wear shirts with jokes, or pictures, or things like that. Even sports team shirts and stuff I never wear. Some decent polo shirts or T-shirts and jeans.
Very casual and stay away from things that are eye-catching. Once in a while I'll wear something a little different that might be MILDLY eye-catching but nothing much.
I prefer not to draw attention to myself or give anyone a reason to label me.

I think so.

I like to be put together, no matter where I'm going. If I wear sweats out I still like to be more put together than sloppy looking. You just never know who you could come across one day.

I don't wear makeup everyday but when I want to look more put together, enhance my features a little more I will when going out of the house.

Darker colors are what I prefer, I wear lots of black, navys. I love wearing all black, makes me feel badass with a black leather jacket to top it all off.

I usually wear dark colors. My favorites are gray, black, white, red, or dark blue. Like i'll sport a regular gray t-shirt with black jeans and white sneakers. I also just keep it simple like that, t-shirts, polos, v-necks, jeans, and sneakers.

I think the Ascendant is how you behave, how you carry and project yourself. But, not necessarily your style unless Venus aspects the Ascendant. It can influence your dress somewhat because how you project yourself can get tied up in that. But, I think Venus is the bigger influence there.

However, that is just my opinion.

but, I've Uranus in 1st and am often asked if I'm unconventional in dress sense which I'm not although funnily enough I realised recently my casual clothes do tend to be covered in paint so I have become that way. I must be like the hobo version of Uranus here. I do also like to find clothing which no one else has.

Apart from that my dress sense seems more like a mix of sag (moon) - I actually dress casual, Taurus (sun) comfort, Taurus (venus) good quality fabrics and ideal dressing with feminine detail (moon neptune) but in structured, moderate way (venus square Saturn). I can hardly pick the main influence although quality fabric is main preference.

When I dress to go out (or perform) I like skinny jeans/leggings (usually black leggings) with long tops that cover my butt, knee-high leather black boots and jackets. If I'm playing the tops will probably be a bit glittery or sequiny lol. I don't like to reveal too much skin really, maybe a hint of cleavage, but I like clothes to show off my shape. I like chunky jewelry like cuffs, dangly earrings and rings, not necessarily expensive though, it's more the look I go for than how much it costs.

I tend to go for dark base clothes with a flash of colour - red, blues, golds - to brighten it up a bit. Guess that's my scorpio "darkness".

At home I just like comfy, loose clothes, never wear makeup when I'm not working or playing, unless I'm on a date.

Oh, I NEVER EVER wear pretty dresses, unless they are a long tunic slinky types (with leggings) or shortish skirts.

I like boyish things and girlie things too. I will always find a way to make a boyish outfit sparkle or sexy e.g. wear an oversized jumper but with pointy flats or pointy mid heels.

Saying that, I do like things that are comfortable, but at the same time, I like large earrings, bags, necklaces, scarves.

When it comes to my girlie/party side, I like simple things again, like a bodycon dress. Not too many layers or things that have to co-ordinate.

Maybe my style is influenced by my Venus in Taurus a little bit actually, because I like simple clothing (but with alot of bling (my Gemini side)).

I love expensive perfumes. And I love real diamonds, pearls, etc. So I often wear small or not at all. I only wear dresses and skirts. My thing these days is a high waistline dress with a pair of ballet flats, and a beautiful pashmina (scarf) draped around my shoulders. When I wear make up I usually only work with my eyes. I try to take care of my skin and play up my youthful look.

I also have a country look for when I'm gardening or taking care of random farm animals..... I had my mom sew me some very broad and long Amish, or 19th century style skirts. I wear those and mud boots when I'm working outside.

This is what I find very strange with my Virgo friend. I am guessing his birth time must be a little off because he has Pluto conjunct Saturn in 1st but LOVES to wear for show.

But I thought that once a planet sits in a house,it kinda "takes over" that house. Especially if in the 1st.Or must it be conjunct the house cusp to be effective???

Coz it seems apparent that the house that it rules still brings its "energy" to the place where the planet is located. Well at-least in his case.Hmmm.

Saturn in 1st I would assume,would give one a very formal way of dressing.Someone who sticks to basics.This person may even like formal wear or a "uniform" style of dressing.This is not him.

The fact that your Pluto conjuncts the Libra 1st house cups suggests its influence is major. His Saturn and Pluto are conjunct near the end of the 1st house cusp.

How does Juno is 1st influence your dress sense? Is its effect louder than Mercury(Virgo ruler)? What house is your Mercury in?

This makes absolute sense. The ruler of the 1st house(Venus) also being in the 1st house suggests someone who is preoccupied with apperances.

My ex Asc Gemini did not have Venus in its own house,but he did have Venus(Gemini) conjunct his 1st house cusp: He LOVED fashion and dressing up.

The ruler of his 1st house(Mercury) was in the 11th.He dressed to fit in with the group. He loved his friends/cliques and associating with larger groups of people also.

Pluto conjunct Moon has a "Scorpio" feel to it. So it would make sense for one to like wearing things that are darker.

Is your Pluto/Moon mix conjunct your 1st house cusp?

I have my own style and I think I can coordinate well for myself. I can rock many types of outfits but I think I'm more on edgier, tomboy-ish style. I can't do super feminine like lots of laces and flowy skirts or dresses.

Sag Asc rarely like things to be too "restrictive". And with the support of the ever freedom-loving Uranus conjunct the 1st house cusp of Sag- you can throw away anything that seems to conform too much to the "norm".

This is especially so in women. Because most women I know with this placement tend to dress in a way that allow "freedom of movement".So men's clothes are preferred and so are the occasional flowing dress.But it must allow the person to move too.

But don't you think that the house that Venus/Saturn are in is where this display of preference will be at?

A person can have Venus/Saturn conjunct in 3rd. This expression of this preference may be that the person picks tasteful(Venus) quality(Saturn)books to read(3rd).

Or the individual has got a very sweet(Venus)but authoritarian(Saturn) voice(3rd).

But say the same individual has Leo Asc with Sun(ruler) in the 5th house.

Much creative expression will go into the wardrobe or looking good. As such I do not see this person trying their best to hide away with dark colours. Unless there is a theme they are "channeling" etc.
