I have Leo rising, with an exact Sun-Pluto conjunction, also conjunct the ASC (4). I feel this one placement dominates the chart.

Although Kannon is saying this in reference to the Sun-Pluto opposition, it's also true for me: "This is an aspect in which you either learn to have a profound/powerful effect upon others or they have it upon you. It challenges you to empowerment because the effect others have upon you, usually starting early in life."

The early life influence was the Catholic church. I was raised and was taught by Catholic nuns. Christianity is a very polarized religion that splits off the body/sexuality, as well as the darker and more potent aspects of God, which has created a whopping shadow over centuries, one I was a witness to personally. Having a 1H Pluto in this environment generated conflicts between me and the nuns and a psychological and spiritual crisis for me. Only now that I know about astrology have I learned to understand the archetypal dynamics in play.

So yes, I can confirm that the Pluto experience is about empowerment, and that an experience of being or feeling powerless is part of the initiation. I also relate to the dismemberment a novice in an indigenous culture experiences as a preliminary to becoming a healer.

When I started studying astrology, very little information was available about Pluto. I found only this footnote contained in a book:

"Pluto is the deity with the attributes of a serpert. He is a healer, a giver of health, spiritual and physical, and of enlightenment. Blavatsky, The Secret Doctrine

I have also found with this placement that people either project power onto me or their shadow, the shadow simply being the parts that are hidden or repressed, but not necessarily bad and on the contrary, can be quite positive. But, there's no denying this sometimes is a problem, one which Jungian psychology has helped a lot in understanding.

Another thing is one's sexuality or sexual energy is very noticeable and acts as a magnet. Like Pluto in the 10H, this can be problematic for public figures who are impelled to maintain a certain image, i.e., clergy or politicians, because sexual activity tends to get exposed. Good think I'm not one.

The only other major aspect is Neptune sextile the ASC. I haven't thought about it at all and don't know how it manifests. Any ideas?

I totally relate, although I've needed to learn to balance solitude with engagement with the world and other people.

How do you think your Neptune sexile ASC manifests?

Wow, peony if you have pluto conjunct the ascendant you must be intense. Do people notice you right away?

As a teen, yes. People noticed because of looks, not intensity. Now, I'm rather gentle and quiet. Time and meditation does that. lol

That makes a LOT more sense I think Sun is more like your creative force, sense of purpose (besides Jupiter), your confidence, ego, not your whole persona, I feel like Ascendant is much more wholesome, more individual, whole YOU, like you wrote... It colours your everyday life, all your personality, thoughts, acts, and it is only right to count it as the foremost part of your individuality, since it is also the quickest moving I mean, I kinda dig my Libra Sun, by I always thought I am more Aqua in all aspects. And I do put an enormous emphasis on my chart ruler - Uranus, the major events and changes in my life are ALWAYS connected to it.
