Venus in the 8th means love is as serious as breathing. It's a life long quest to find 'the one' and when we think we have we will protect it with all we have, and if it goes away we will feel like we're dying for a long, long, time. We may get over it, but we'll never stop loving that person. It works like scorpio venus so you have jealousy, obsession, stalker ish behavior. Venus in the 8th people are very sexual bc it's a natural expression of love to us. I don't want to speak for all venus 8ths, but in my case when someone I love has hurt me deeply there can be violence with anger. For ex when I caught my husband cheating I took an axe and busted out his windshield when he pulled into the driveway.
That was a little trip to crazy town I hope never to repeat. But I tell you, I almost felt possessed to do it.

I could see myself doing that. I used to be the type to not break anything, and to stop others from breaking something in anger (although I doubt that I'd get in the way of someone with someone with an axe ). I've opted for graffiti, in the past.

It was easily cleaned off. I'm just saying: I now understand the impulses behind such things. I used to be so peaceful, but I've been pushed and pushed - and I remember what Gypsee wrote before, about that.

Angular houses (1, 4, 7, 10) are those of activities direct action that keep our lives progressing and in balance. Self, home, relationships, aspirations.

Succedent houses (2, 5, 8, 11) are those in which organization into set patterns is valued in which the benefits of their preceding house conterparts are enjoyed.

Cadent houses (3, 6, 9, 12) are those in which we adjust, polish and finish off our lives based on what happens in the two preceding activities.

I assert myself (1st) with a sense of distinct identity, attract resources that match (2nd), which induces patterns of communication and community connection (3rd).

A home is created (4th), children are birthed (5th), personal health and habits are affected (6th).

An agreement of equal relationship (or relational roles) is reached (7th), resources are mixed materially/emotionally (8th), a larger world of learning is opened from the interaction of two minds (9th).

Aspirations are created (10th) from the basis of youthful ideals and evident interests or skills, group connections and friendships are formed (11th), and life completion can be found in service and fuller self-realization (12th).

So the 8th house can be seen as a segment of a process and can be seen as a slice of our lives. Yes, succedent houses relating to fixed signs tend to show a slower time scale. I also think people with 8th house planets tend to 'go further' into understanding people, relationships, our inner workings and resources. Otherwise we externalize and think we have to have a job at a bank, financial institution, accounting firm to stay close to money and power. That is fine, but if we leave out the other potentials which relate to what is inside others, then we leave much to be explored.

The house of sex, death, and taxes is, of course much more than that. That is an external definition. It is also the house of la petite mort, and many of the 'little deaths' we may experience when we take the risks to go beyond the surface in our encounters with others and with life.
