Something I don't understand...and I mean that literally, not in a purely "how could you" or "I'm too pure" way. It makes no sense to me and I'm willing to entertain an astrological explanation. I'm not looking for moral outrage here, I'm looking to understand humanity.I'm not with PETA, but I can still acknowledge the horror of many (if not most) factory farms, and many farming practices are barbaric in the extreme, as are pointless animal testing that tells us almost nothing (but does generate funds over political reasons rather than reasons helpful to humanity). The farm I spent many years of was fairly benign but even that could be extremely cold hearted and downright brutal at times. This is normal. Vigilantes and stalkers and criminals do it as well. People accused of Satanism can find dead cats nailed to their doors (the sick irony of the one nailing a dead cat to a door to oppose child and animal killing Satanism seems lost on the one doing it), and dead, tortured animals (like kittens in concrete) can be left as warnings. I overheard one guy bragging about how he grabbed his ex-girlfriend's cat, put the cat in a bag and beat the cat to death before depositing the dead cat on the doorstep, and he was PROUD of himself and the effect it would have on his ex, and not only was his friend thinking that was cool, but the law reflects that this is minor compared to domestic abuse as long as he doesn't leave a note of "you're next." (Criminal, yes, but not anywhere as much as when he later assaulted her with a deadly weapon.) And I could go on, especially animals that are not "cute." Given that this is the normal reality of our world of society, why are animal (especially cat and dog) vids on YT so popular? Police can be all too trigger happy and quick to use tasers to torture rather than subdue (among worse things), and yet it rarely raises eyebrows, and is as likely to gain support as it is condemnation. But shoot an animal that may actually be a threat (certainly more likely than some of those brutalized and murdered by police) can cause the internet to do a meltdown. Only now are netguns and bolas starting to be considered by police forces on human suspects and what not (despite all the lawsuits such devices could've saved many police departments from) when they've been used for animal control for decades. Because animals, it would seem, require special consideration, a consideration they don't get in other parts of human society. And, more importantly, why are even the most violent graphic shows that show the intestines of people spilling out, blood spurting, body organs ripped out of the body, and so on, so squeamish about showing the same done to animals? (This may be more of an American thing. In the Japanese manga and anime of Alita, an important scene involves a little dog representing innocence to be ripped into several pieces in a gory display which causes the heroine to put some of the dog's blood on her face to mark herself as the dog's champion, but in the American movie that's very gory at times the don't show the dog killed, only sound effects, and at the very end or deleted scene they show the dog survived as a cyborg.) In the most recent example, AHS: Coven had vile depictions of torture, mutilation, organ removal, chopped up corpses, acid burns, and shown in graphic detail...and yet when it came to animals, it was mostly implied rather than shown in the same graphic gore, despite that it's just as pretend as the violence against humans. And that confounds me. Why is this? Is it an Aquarius thing for the internet and media? Is it a Hollywood sign thing? I'm just utterly baffled by it as it makes no sense. I'm not interested in hearing a bunch of moral outrage. I just want to know what is it that makes the human mind like this, so very contradictory? These aren't individuals where this varies, mind you, this is on the macro scale (police using net guns on human suspects rather than clubs, guns, chemicals, and tasers almost unheard of and less maddening for humans to be treated in such a way than animals, for example, and gory shows seem to, as a rule, avoid the same graphic scenes of vile torture on animals as they will on humans, despite pointless animal experimentation and cruel farming practices accepted as normal), so individual astrology would not be a direct factor in it (other than make an exception to the rule), though maybe the astrology of Hollywood itself might, for example. oh really? I didn't know that! It makes sense then! But hey we have the same moon and Venus placement, so maybe that together causes compassion for animals? Do you have any aspects from Neptune to your moon? I thought my affinity towards animals was also my 12th house moon but Im not too sure. 6th house is opposite of the 12th house so that makes sense too. IP: Logged |

Ever since I was a child I’ve had special bonds with animals. Dogs gravitate towards me. I love all animals and I hate for anything to be in pain. I’m a Pisces sun, moon, mercury. No Virgo placements. My dad loved animals too- he was a Leo sun with Pisces ascendant. I’ve noticed Sagittarius placements have a strong animals connection as well. My ex was very animal compassionate, he was a sag sun, with Aries moon squaring neptune. My mom loves animals too, is visibly upset when she sees deer hit on the side of the road, and will go out of her way to rescue a dog walking alone without an owner (although I do the same thing). She’s a sag moon and Virgo ascendant.
Im not sure about Sag... my cousin has a Sag moon and she really doesn't care much for animals. My Sag sun Leo Moon friend didn't care for animals much either

Hi PixieJane, I had thought about writing a post about the hypocrisy of many people saying that they love and care deeply for animals, and yet consistently support things like factory farming. You wrote your post shortly after I thought about writing mine. Anyways, there isn't much point in getting too deep into this as my experience has been that this topic is a very touchy, sensitive one for many people, and just raises peoples defenses and hackles. I just want to mention that there is a person named William Tuttle who wrote a book called the "World Peace Diet" and the premise of same is that when we start to treat animals better (and not just cute pets), then we will start to treat each other better as well. Something to think about perhaps? Besides the ethical and environmental issues involved in this whole mess, when I stopped eating beef and pork when 16, I noticed an energetic shift for the better. Then when I completely stopped eating all meat a handful of years later, I noticed another energetic shift. It's hard to explain, but I felt lighter, had more energy, and was more psychically intune. Many years later, I do eat a little occasional, very selective fish (mostly sardines and wild Alaskan salmon and pollock), but this doesn't affect my energy negatively the way that other flesh foods did. While I was initially conflicted about the above, I felt nudged by my internal guidance system to make this change, and I feel best on the current diet of mostly vegan with some responsibly sourced vegetarian and occasional pescetarian. Sometimes I feel like I would do better if I had a job working with animals as well. IP: Logged | |
