Vajra, your journey was a pleasure to read about. I had the honor of meeting, sharing my young life with, and learning from an artist like the artists you describe in your family. That level of focus and discipline is spiritual. This woman was in her 80s and was a German dancer who had survived both World Wars. The fruits of discipline in art are truly beautiful.

Thank you Koho! I love reading/ listening to this type of thing. I just downloaded the PDFs and will check for the audio versions too.

It's great that you have such a particular goal, right when Neptune is hitting your NN and right before your Saturn Return will be slowly kicking in. I'm sure you'll have a lot of support from both Neptune and Saturn in the coming years, since you're so closely aligned with your path.

I *believe* I found something that feels right - marketing for nonprofit organisations, because it combines both my goal to work in the human rights area, and my writing/photography/vague movie making skills which I'd been neglecting for the past years. I'm doing a dissertation on this topic this year, and volunteering as a social media marketing manager for 1 organisation, so by 2016 I should be 100% certain whether this is what I'll be doing for the rest of my life, or I need to look even deeper.

Hi Vajra!

I try very hard to look at myself from the outside. People tell me all the time how shocked they are by my life. I feel like I have lived several lifetimes in one. There was a time when I worked very hard in the home. My day started at 4 in the morning. My husband was a vegetarian and I made all our veg food from scratch. I made soy milk, and tofu (from scratch), bread...my husband and I used to share tea, on a an old tree stump he'd dragged home, at 5 in the morning before he went to work. I spent my days baking, cooking, cleaning, sewing, teaching, singing, breastfeeding, walking babies to the park. I had the time and opportunity to take my children to local orchestras (I guess I should say orchestra performances), art shows, and theater performances. We were very creative ourselves putting on our own performances, having house parties, etc. I was very disciplined. Everything happened on time and on schedule. It was a crucial time in which a solid foundation was laid for my children. When my husband and I split my children and I spent 3 years at what I call a hermitage, but it was really my mother's home in the country. For three years I didn't do a thing but take my children on nature walks, go exploring in the woods, climb trees, wade through creeks, and connect with the earth (many nights in the summer I fell asleep on the ground under a tree)...I was dying and being reborn.

After 3 years, I moved out of my mother's home and into one of our largest properties. There were many things that had changed, but certain things I was determined would not change. My children would remain homeschooled even if I couldn't do it, even if 100% of their lessons were online and I had to buy 5 laptops (and spend most of my extra income on technology, laptops, devices, and online education). I was homeschooled, and what I was given in that experience was the time and the freedom to be myself.

What had changed drastically was my parenting style. We had just suffered trauma and I needed to know how my children were doing. I began to talk. I talked about any and everything in a way they could understand. Their father used to like to smoke and "reason" with me (we called a conversation that builds to higher understanding "reasoning"), so I began reasoning with my children. Anything I wanted them to do or understand, I explained the logic behind it. I asked them questions about what they understood about what i was saying. I talked and asked for and accepted honest feedback from them. I showed them that if their position was reasonable I was willing to change my position. I made sure we were on the same page. That's a huge part of how I manage this household. The children accept responsibility for their own lives and what needs to be done because that is just what makes sense. I taught them about kindness and respect by giving them kindness and respect. When you show a child respect he wants nothing less. When you show him how good it feels to get it he also learns how good it feels to give it, and the value of giving it. The children in this house are really wonderful people and honest people.

We all have work too. My job is to make money. Their job is to actively pursue an education (not have it fed to them). We share the chores and responsibilities of the house equally, because it's just not feasible for me to do what I once did. We all understand that it is in everyone's best interest to share the weight of the household responsibilities. We all respect one another's time and independence.

As they get older, I feel younger. This is definitely a different and unique experience of parenting.

Hmmmmmmmm. With my second/third house moon in Cancer, I became a professional cook and the home maker health aide that worked with seniors, disabled people and the like. Fast forward to Neptune conjunct Jupiter in the sixth and many of my coworkers came from other countries. I taught the newcomers to Canada about Canadian/Western foods.

Fast forward to Venus in Pisces in the 10, and I guess what comes out is the artist. Ilve graced the stage performing stand up, rocked out at jams and karaoke......and now I'm the photographic artist.

With Leo on the IC, I'm the alpha person at my house. The one who runs and manages everything. Through a Cappy mars in the eighth and I manage the household money too. My partner gives me his paycheck earnings so I can pay the bills and budget for things. (I hate this job).

I am my family's matriarch. My partner is a Libra rising and I'm an Aries......I guess he got what he wanted in a mate.....a take charge bossy person who runs everythîng.

I wouldn't normally divulge too much info on what I do but I have tr sun conjunct mc today so I will write away (please don't quote as I may edit later).

I always knew what I wanted to do since the age of 12, I studied the relevant subjects at school that got me into university and, after graduating, I worked for a few years then went back to university to do a post grad so I could specialise. I passed top of the class, with honours and I just loved studying. I have Jupiter at home in my 9th house of higher education, in Aries, this sextiles mercury, Venus and Mars. It also makes an exact square to Saturn and conjuncts Chiron.

We run a very successful business in a city and just recently I have branched out doing one day a week in a coastal township where I have family ties. This has already taken off. Having two places of work suits my gemini moon and mars.

Traditionally, the sign Capricorn is associated with dentistry but I have no planets in cap, my natal 6th house of cap is empty and in fact I'm an earth void but my 6th house ruler, Saturn, is conjunct my ascendant, from the 12th house. I do enjoy working behind the scenes, which I have to do occasionally, but my love of seeing patients is stronger with my Leo asc- I 'secretly' enjoy being in the public eye!

My mc is in Taurus, ruler Venus is in the 7th, bringing me into direct contact with the public and I am in a professional partnership. 10th house is empty but my mc sextiles sun and Saturn, squares Venus and loose conjunct to south node. Of the earth houses, (2, 6 & 10) in my chart, only the 2nd house tenants a planet and that is Pluto, in libra but Virgo cusp ruler mercury, again in the 7th.

Saturn on my ascendant has never hindered my career aspirations, in fact it has made me determined to go after what I want and achieve it. Also having sun trine Saturn I have found it quite effortless to obtain my goals but in saying that, nothing has been given to me on a plate.
The biggest struggle in my life is balancing my work life vs home life and my Pisces sun square gem moon, (within a minute) reflects this.

I have been told by many patients that I am very empathetic and caring and that may explain my large client base and why I am so very busy.

Even with an 8th house sun, money is not the sole motivator for me working; I actually love what I do and I genuinely want the best for my patients however it does make me happy to be able to provide for my children, but it's at the expense of not spending some of those working hours with them (a working mother's never ending guilt). I can justify it more when they are both going to school.

Good luck for getting into the CG Koho- I wish you all the best!

Neh,it won't be too complex.

I just wanted to point out that your North Node/South Node Pisces/Virgo mix, is quite interesting.

Vedic astrology associates Rahu(North node) with the cerebral intellect- all brain. No emotions.

Whilst they associate the south node(Ketu) with all feelings, no intellectual distance. The spiritual side etc.

So you having Mercury ruled Virgo on the spiritual tail(South Node) and psychically inclined Pisces on the North Node (intellect), intrigued me in how you handle those two energies?

Especially since they seem to be in the "wrong" placements?

I have Gemini North Node and Sagittarius South Node.

Religion and belief system have affected me, do affect me and will continue to affect me my whole life.

But as I grow older, I've learned to have a sense of humour about religious doctrine(Gemini).

I sometime spoke fun at Jesus and all the other "holy" people come across in the bible.

I don't have all the answers and probably never will. And the good news is;I am not supposed to.

This was very important for me to realize and accept:As it has made it easier for me not to try and impose my beliefs on to others(Sun/Jupiter/Uranus/Neptune in Sag)

Hi! Thank you for replying! I wanted to mention that if Capricorn rules dentistry and you have Saturn aspecting the MC.. well that all makes sense doesn't it!

I got into astrology initially at the age of 12 or so through my girlfriend of two weeks/friend at the time. Sun sign astrology simmered in my mind for a long time as I connected with it well.

Then slowly here and there I read about Scorpio Sun and Capricorn Moon. Then slowly I opened my Natal Chart and saw my Mars and said "that explains A LOT!!"

And finally, when Pluto entered my 9H I found out one of my old coworkers when I worked in Barnes and Noble during undergrad was very well versed in astrology and we began discussing it. Like most of us I'm self taught but he ignited the interest. I still remember the last astrological advice he gave me

"Oh no look at these Saturn transits... there's gonna be major delays with the Coast Guard."

I thought it was months at the time... 1.5 years later. :P

But yea, after that, it has been an esoteric, psychological knowledge explosion for me. Western astrology is my main mode but I've learned and used the I Ching, Tarot, Zi Wei Dou Shu, Numerology, Enneagram, Myers-Briggs, and now because of my job Insights.

My Western astrology chart and my ZWDS chart tell the same story with great insights from Pinnacles/Challenges/Life Path in Numerology that are also comparable to the transiting outer planets

The only question I've proposed with the I Ching and Tarot have resulted in the same answers. Well each question was proposed for me by two different people I was dating. I don't actively practice the I Ching and Tarot but I feel like the two ladies came into my life to pass on insight to me and then we all went on our merry ways. But I also tell myself that I got such amazing results from these two singular moments that I'll rarely, if ever, use them again. These readings felt like they came in the right time for me and I'd feel like I was cheating if I attempted for more.

Same typings in Myers-Briggs and the Enneagram

It has been quite the journey for me and the guidance has felt very strong.

-----

How about you? How did you pick up on it and how far have you gone down the rabbit hole?

Very interesting! This is why I always enjoy your insights.

Virgo on my SN
The majority of my life I have been Athiest. Honestly, if I had met anyone here on the street and they began talking about Natal Charts to me I would of given a snide New Age crazy comment and walked off.

Pisces on my NN
I've become one of the New Age crazies I used to make fun of

:P

The few people I let know about my interest in these things are still very surprised. They only ever viewed me as the pragmatic, coldly intellectual athiest.

And now they hear me talking about destiny, karma, clockwork universe and lack of free will (my opinion on why astrology works) wearing red jasper on my right wrist to calm my Aries Mars squares

Thank you for your informative reply Koho, it was very interesting. I take note of saturn transits they seem to be quite pertinent to me. Of all the vast aspects of astrology, for me, transits are one of the most interesting at this time and I have been dabbling with SR charts and progressions for the last year.

I too started getting into astrology around the age of 12, I brought my 1st astrology books, which were Linda Goodman's, and was enthralled. Before I had my own pc and before the advent of smart phones to access the net, I had collected over 100 books on astrology and esoteric subjects. Still it has been an off an on journey because I never had the time to fully read and learn.

When tr neptune trined uranus and tr uranus trined neptune at the same time I really started to focus on learning as much as I could. My natal sun is in 8th house, nn in scorpio; I have a NEED to learn as much as I can in this subject. Have dabbled with Chinese astrology, tarot, numerology but I think my passion lies with western astrology. I checked out ZWDS, interesting. So, yeah I'm still burrowing down the rabbit hole. Thanks for your question .

Hey Koho,

I just googled Organizational Psychology. Do you have a degree on it? How did you transitioned from Finance to this? It seems to be like the opposite side of the spectrum. I am curious because I am really into psychology as well (I do lots of deep research in regards to this whole 'Knowing Thyself' path i am on atm), esoteric stuff, perhaps this is something I can get my feet into regarding with my whole 'changes plan' ... lol

I'm not so sure to be honest. I'm not well versed in this bit. I wear it out of habit because it was given to me as a gift. About a year ago I passed through Gainesville, Florida which happens to have a mix population of college students, poor junkies, and free spirit new agers. I went to an esoteric shop called Otter and Trout. Hit it off with a stranger who wanted to read my chart.

She did, and before we parted ways she bought me a Red Jasper bracelet because my Mars is terribly afflicted and she felt it could help stabilize my Mars energy. Red Jasper is associated with Mars and Aries and my Mars is in Aries.

I've never gotten to the root of it but ever since wearing it I feel more in control of my Mars-related flaws. As you know, there's plenty of squares troubling it along with the 12H placement. But at this point in my life I feel they are issues of the past.

Here's a decent description I found on the net -

"Aries~ Balances
The strong red of this stone is perfect for the Aries
personality. As with all Jaspers they lend strength and
balance. Red Jaspers are great for calming down that
rash dare devil attitude Aries are so famous for.
Red Jasper Astrology
Great for enhancing Mercury energies and also a
balancer of Mars energies

Red Jasper is good for charts that have...

- Mercury or Mars in affliction (square or opposite)
- Mercury conjunct, square or opposite Mars" http://www.vegaattractions.com/crystals/gems/redjasper.html

btw Venus, I haven't forgotten I owe you more replies. I just prefer replying to you with a proper amount of time. I'm considering e-mailing you the replies since the threads kinda fall by the wayside or continue to flow far beyond the things I need to reply to.

No degree in it. My undergraduate degree is in Political Science. My ability to jump around different fields comes from being a charming interviewer. I'm lucky enough to have a very favorably aspected Midheaven and one of the effects of those aspects is that people support me in my career choices. I've never been fired, and when I interview, I get the job/offer.

As for the current IO Psychology gig I received my interview in a very lucky transit. When I wrote my cover letter, and interviewed I was under a tVenus conjunct Ascendant transit which usually make people find you extra charming/attractive.

I went for the interview. I did not get the job I interviewed for but the hiring manager liked me so much she pushed forward a role she had in mind for the future ahead of schedule to hire me.

It was a humbling position but it got my foot in the door and in the relatively little time I've been with the firm I've been making strides up ladder already ahead of people that started with me.

They want me to stay with the firm and forget the Coast Guard but I told them as much as I'm loving the work my personality isn't the type to give up a goal once I bite down on it so I feel like I must go. But hey, if the CG rejects me I have a good career ahead of me in this field.

But honestly, the transition and entry into IO has been pure luck. I wouldn't be able to give you tips on entry into it because of that. I feel like I'm with these people to learn from them and their communication/leadership techniques before I take it somewhere else.

@Koho

Cool...I used to get jobs like that as well. I mentioned on another thread where the last three jobs i had in the span of this last 10 years, I was invited to these jobs even without an interview... and right after university, I used to get jobs on the first try as well (I am not sure what planets / transits etc was happening in those 10 years or so, but It ain't happenin' now LOL)....speaking about my transit thread Koho, I still wish I am able to know which planets are transiting, conjuncting, squaring like you and everyone on this thread talk to each other.

I am kinda frustrated with 'what's gonna happen next' in my life and career. It is frustrating because I don't know what is going on! It's like I went through this HUGE transition in my life, like that tJupiter in 12H transit where everything fell apart (relationships, friendships, career etc) like i went through this death and rebirth stage. It was pretty scary, yet very alchemical at the same time. So now I am left with a brand new blank easel to work and create this NEW stage in my life... but I am like ..DUH LOL What now?!

My South Node in Pisces was all about that - shedding many past stuff (current and karmic past lives) I did that transition already OR at least let go a huge portion of it .. My North Node is in Virgo - So I am currently working into the whole humanitarian, aiding humanity process, life work stage... It says to look for something in the Administrative world, so I've been sending out resumes for that.. let's see how this pans out! Also, being an Aquarian Sun and Mars in Aquarius, humanity and being a humanitarian is HUGE in my life mission. This is also taking some anxiety in myself because HOT DAAMM! this rest heavy on the shoulders. The expectations of being Super Woman is nerve racking! I did just finish a huge humanity, bigger picture project in which I call 'My Assignments' from my last environment, job. That was utterly transformative not only personally, but also in a very collective sense as well.

Koho - you mentioned that you feel like you are learning from your current job, with the people you are with etc. That's what happened to me with my last job. The people and the experience itself had a huge impact with my self discovery so when I left, I felt the self work and transition started to happen full on. It's really complex to explain, but like i said it was very alchemical the process where I had to change my psychological conditioning. Is this because of my Pluto transit conj. my natal Venus? Perhaps it could also be what you pointed out on the other thread with my tJupiter in 12H?

Anyways, like i said, it would be wonderful if I have some insight as to what is happening with my transit chart so I am able to make changes/actions or at least know what to do because I was very stagnant before, but now I am starting to become healthy again to become motivated into doing something! Kinda like I went inside, disconnected with the world, but now I am starting to get back out there -- very slowly and carefully with my new self.

Anyone has any recommendation how to learn to read a birth chart, specifically a transit chart? How did you guys first started learning to do so?

Btw Koho, I was curious as to why you haven't applied or maybe you did with the Coast Guard? If not, what is stopping you?

*** Edit
These are my transits currently flying around lol

Pluto transit Capricorn in 5H
Neptune transit Pisces in 7H
Uranus transit Virgo in 9H
Saturn transit Sag in 4H
Jupiter transit Leo in 12H

Sun in Aquarius
Moon in Libra
Mercury in Pisces
Venus in Cap
Mars in Aqua
Leo Rising

Anyone has any input?

Hmmm, I schedule maintenance for an airline.

I do like my job a lot, but really don't feel like it is where I should be. I don't really know where that is exactly.

I would love to be a farmer and take care of my animals all day long.

Cancer moon
Venus Virgo
Mars Sagittarius

Hey Skies,

the best way to learn is to ask questions and follow up on the answer. No tricks or gimmicks. Look at something in your chart, anything, and research it.

You mentioned your NN and SN signs - look at the houses. Then the aspects. It will say a lot.

Myself as an example - Pisces North Node - indicates needed/coming future develop of Piscean traits - compassion, empathy, etc. That's already a bit of information. And it is indeed something I've never had a natural grasp over. I've always been a calculating, rational decision maker at the cost of people's feelings
(my Myers-Briggs type is ENTJ if you're familiar with the system, my Enneagram type is 8. If you're not familiar, don't worry about it for now.)

But that's not everything. Yes I need and will develop those Piscean traits but then what? What do I do with them? That's where the house often comes in.

My Piscean NN is in the Humanitarian/Social house of the 11th. That's where I have to be heading. Not the corporate world, which is more of the 10th, not the religious world of the 12th, but the 11th house of the humanitarian.

What house is your North Node in? Learn about that house, learn about the traits of the sign of your NN. Meditate, walk, run, or whatever your method is on it and eventually it'll come to you. And read, read, read. Multiple and endless sources. Astrology is useful but it is interpreted by humans. Each and every interpretation is subjective to the experience they and their personality can recognize. Not a single one of us can give you a comprehensive study of what a placement may mean to you.

Example: For me, Pisces North Node in the 11th and my Neptune in the 9th house... for me it has turned out that I feel my future lays in sailing in the Coast Guard (Neptune, ruler of the ocean in the 9th house of travel) and the Coast Guard being our sailing oriented military branch focused on war/law enforcement but also, and quite adept at humanitarian missions of search and rescue, aids to navigation, medical emergencies. I believe it can be more.

But these thing, Neptune in the 9th, NN in Pisces/11th can mean a great different things. Astrology is a language of few words and broad strokes.

This is why I very rarely do readings. I won't tell you what you are, or what's coming your way because I don't know you and I'm stuck in my own life perspective. What I can and will do for you is tell you where to look.

Another way to look at it is I read my own chart every day, I have it memorized, but somehow I find new insights. If I haven't been able to master my own chart with my endless hours there's no way I can master yours and read it for you. I'll teach you how to read but you have to go out and read and tell me what you've learned.

Sorry for the mini lecture, it is the Jupiter in the 1st house in me.

So anyway

Look at your NN and learn well what it means. Learn well the sign it is in. Learn the house it is in which may tell you where you'll apply the sign's lessons. And absolutely last, check the aspects for final detail but by then you'll probably have a grand idea already.

As for your transits remember what I told you - the outer planet house transits are great for understanding the themes going on in your life. Learn all of those outers and houses and you'll derive a picture.

I'd give myself as an example but this reply is far too long. But here's an answer to one of your questions. My Coast Guard goals are delayed because of the combination of my Outer Planet transits doing various things in my life. That's the astrological answer that says a lot in my mind. The simpler, real world answer, I have a lot of old sports injuries from always pushing myself too hard that I have a huge medical file that the Coast Guard has to waiver for me before I go in.

Heyyy Kohoo,

This is really a great, comprehensive, clear reply... give me a moment to digest this, will have to research further more on my NN and SN in houses (NN in Virgo, 1H / SN in Pisces, 7H) I did stumble upon the meaning of my NN and SN a year ago, which gave me meaningful insights as to how I should cave my life path into...

I am familiar with the Myers-Briggs and Enneagram .. I am an INFP. This is a good description of my personality to the T -- http://www.personalitypage.com/INFP.html

Number 5 is my Enneagram.

I appreciate and value your response and I am thankful for your help and guidance thus far!

Wonderful! Then I can put it this way..

Notice the similarity between your SN in Pisces/7H and you being a INFP?

"
Generally thoughtful and considerate, INFPs are good listeners and put people at ease. Although they may be reserved in expressing emotion, they have a very deep well of caring and are genuinely interested in understanding people. This sincerity is sensed by others, making the INFP a valued friend and confidante. An INFP can be quite warm with people he or she knows well."

The SN in Pisces/7H is showing this part of you that you have naturally.

Now remember, and connect this, your NN in Virgo/1H has a strong connection to your Enneagram type. As a 5 I would judge you to be quite intelligent and curious but do you have trouble putting things into action? Remember, the 5 must grow into 8 like tendencies. Your Virgo north node, like my friend Venus, is calling you to get organized, focus on yourself.

Compare the Virgo North Node in the 1st with the 8 Enneagram type. Get organized, get to work, and put that type 5/Pisces SN energy into production.

I hope my little analysis shows a good example how to utilize all tools and varying systems for self reflection.

Compare it to my situation..

Pisces North Node with Virgo South Node, 11th House to 5th House

I am the opposite. I am the 8 Enneagram type you need to take on and you are the Pisces South Node I need to take on.

I take action and I don't stop. I can make the hard decisions with a ruthless eye for self gain of the organization or for myself. I need to learn to use my Virgo South Node for the benefit of all.

Remember, I am also the ENTJ, like the 8, I need to constantly be mindful about how my decisions effect others because it is not natural.

In other words, you can analyze yourself by also analyzing me. I am in this regard, an opposite energy example to you that you can integrate.
