Because psychological tests are fun and topics about gender are hot on LL lately... I give you BSRI - test developed in the 70's by Dr. Sandra Lipsitz Bem, which tells us how much we "fit" into conventional categories of "masculine", "feminine", "androgynous" and "undifferentiated" by measuring some of the qualities that are attributed to them. For me, gender is pure social construct, so it'll be fun to see your results Here's the link: http://garote.bdmonkeys.net/bsri.html Also state some date from your chart, which you think is relevant According to this test I am: 73,3 percent masculine 43,3 feminine 56,7 androgynous My top 3 are all masculine, dominant planet is Uranus, followed by Mercury and Venus, dominant signs: Virgo, Libra, Aqua (according to Pullen). I consciously try to develop some of the positive "masculine" traits, such as assertiveness, self reliance etc., because I know the "feminine" characteristics to us women come bit easily since they are being implanted in us since birth. I wish all human beings would have the chance to develop all the existing human qualities and not be limited on only one half of them... World would be such a better place. Anyway, what about you?

Great idea My results: quote: You scored 74.167 out of 100 masculine points, 80.833 out of 100 feminine points, and 72.5 out of 100 androgynous (neutral) points.
Hooray, feminine wins! Even though my three most dominant planets are Jupiter, Mars, and the sun (all tightly aspecting each other in my chart, less than .15 orb.) I have a t-square in each modality, and the apex of each is a feminine planet (sun, moon, Uranus) while the base planets are masculine. So my chart is mostly masculine, but the luminaries, and the ruler of my Mercury, are feminine. Hence the balance, and the high score on androgyny.

Thanks! Just out of curiosity, what does being feminine mainly means to you and why is it such a good thing? I think the result you got really reflects your chart, because it's very balanced and you've developed all the dimensions... It's really interesting to see your scores overall being very higher than mine, you've identified strongly with the characteristics? Have you marked a lot of "always"? And I also think it's kinda cute that your apex planets symbolically represent each of the dimensions. Sun being "masculine", Moon "feminine" and Uranus "androgynous" - that's where your high scores come from in a way IP: Logged |

Just comparing these two pieces of information - it sort of makes sense... In which signs you have those planets? IP: Logged |

That makes even more sense. your Libra Moon is unapologetic about wanting equality in every way for being neutral I congratulate you, I strive towards that myself

All three were pratically on the 50-60 range. I'm not surprised. I just act the way I feel right, I'm not consciously acting feminine or masculine...just don't care really ;-)IP: Logged |

That's great that you've consciously decided to not care so you're also immune to social disapproval? or you live in a relatively liberal environment? IP: Logged |

Hm. Do you have hard Saturn aspects or a personal planet/angle in Cap? Any 10th house placements? I don't remember if it would apply to your case but you could check your topocentric positions if you haven't yet. It's the 3rd option starting from the bottom. When you do it, tell me if your Moon sign changed. ------------------ Anomaling around since 1911.

Hm, I apologize for my ignorance, but I can't find the topocentric option. Maybe you could give me a hint more? I have in the past just for fun looked at some different systems and don't remember having Cap Moon in any.. I may be mistaken. I don't have any prominent Cap positions in my chart, only "notable" conjunction to Midheaven is BML Saturn makes some aspects, which for me are really important, but no hard aspects. I do have chart rulers - Saturn and Uranus both in Cap, and Uranus conjuncts my Moon, maybe that's why I feel this energy more. I do recognize myself a whole lot in the description of Uranus in Cap, even though it's generational and I vibe really well with Cap Moons IP: Logged |

Perhaps it is your Uranus. But your emotional nature is more Uranian than Capricornian, right? Btw, where's your Jupiter? ------------------ Anomaling around since 1911. IP: Logged |

Oh, I see thanks. nope, it doesn't change anything.. I'm definitely more Uranian, maybe that's why I'm also very passionate about topics like this I checked: Pullen ranks Capricorn 4th most prominent and Saturn 5th, quite high, but probably due to other factors than my Moon, but for the sake of astro fluidity I just mix those influences and interpret them a bit obstinately

I like femininity, I admire it, I think women are great. My hooray was just a lighthearted response, nothing deep or political. quote: Originally posted by Belba: Have you marked a lot of "always"?
I marked "always" for most of the questions about empathy. I marked "always" for analytical, and "never" for "wants to be the leader" and "conventional." (Though on second thought, other people might think I am VERY conventional...I just don't think I am.) Otherwise everything was in the mid-range. So I'm surprised my numbers are higher. It's hard to see the logic with some of them...like flatterable. No. The more I think about it, the more bewildering it is how important I find it, and how much I felt its influence in my life. I think having it in its own sign and aspecting both Pluto (my Sun/Moon midpoint) and Mercury in its own signs make it a bit more "special", but that's already looking at subcontext and minor elements... Cap sun/asc, aries moon. 74/100 masculine points 53/100 for both feminine and androgynous I feel pretty neutral. Although ever since I was little I've hated being told that I'm supposed to do/think certain things and to be a certain way just because I'm female. Nahh you shouldnt climb trees or focus too much on education. Should just speak softly, smile, be obedient, cook and clean and look pretty. IP: Logged |

I see I do remember you have a Pisces Moon, I guess that's why you like the notion of femininity and all the feminine attributes on a woman, my sister has Pisces Venus and has probably similar views. Myself as a Sag Moon have an utterly different idea how women should be, and we argue on that a lot if I remember correctly your Moon is squared by Sag Mercury and Gemini Mars? quote: Originally posted by Faith: I marked "always" for most of the questions about empathy. The questionaire is curious indeed. It would be interesting to see how they calculate the result.. I think I could range most of the characteristics into categories.. Flatterable would definitely be a "feminine" characteristic, wanting to please, make people feel good, or even hypocritical flattery - all is in history of literature and people's minds attributed to women, and well, women have been compelled to make use of these more passive and limited range of influencing their environment. Anyway, that's my opinion Hm, I doubt I ever answered "never" or "always"... How sceptical I am of my own nature quote: Originally posted by Faith: Thank you, and good observation!

Belba So basically I'm somewhere in the middle... I always get something like 50:50 on these tests - probably because of my Venus trine Mars aspect. I'm not sure how relevant they are though lol I mean a lot of these things could be either masculine or feminine or both. IP: Logged |
