Wow Wild Horses, that sounds rough!! So glad your almost through it. Has it been a total nightmare?

I'm not sure if it's good or bad that I'm getting hit with Pluto/Pluto and Neptune/Neptune close to being at the same time or not....I guess it's getting it over all at once?
I've got Uranus/ Uranus and Saturn/Saturn opposition happening around the same time also.

Sadly they will create a grand cross briefly in early 2020... my Saturn squares my Uranus natally.
It will all be over by the end of 2021, only 5-6 more years of he//....

Oh, Gabby, I wish I could say it's not that bad, but it's horrible. It just plain sucks. A lot like labor, there's no way around it. You have to go through it. There's nothing as wonderful as a newborn baby waiting at the end, but there is a sort of "rebirth" of yourself. You do feel stronger, more empowered. It feels like you fought life and won. I've read what you've shared about many of the hard battles you've already fought in your life so far, so you are a strong person. I think those who are psychologically strong only get stronger from it.

House rulership will make it play out differently for each person, even though the overall themes will be the same.

It may have felt more dramatic to me than it might for someone else because important houses in my chart were involved.

-Pluto rules my 5th and conjuncts my Moon, and squares my Sun and Venus
-Uranus rules my 8th and sits in my 4th on my IC
-Saturn rules my 7th and trines my IC 1° and Uranus 2°
-Neptune is my fire singleton in my 5th house conjunct my Vertex
-the transit Uranus was on my Midheaven and the tr. Neptune was going through my 8th house
-I have Uranus square Mercury natally, so the Pluto-Uranus square was forming a grand cross with those. With my Uranus (8th ruler) square Mercury in my 12th (Mercury is ruler of my Sun, Venus, and Moon)... it just felt like massive upheaval on a mental, spiritual, and psychological level.

It felt like a fault line was triggered and the deepest parts of me were shaken.

I got through it, though, with only some scrapes and bruises - no lasting scars. Well, the Saturn opp. Saturn is still to come, but whatever... bring it.

So, that's the good news. Just stay strong and mentally tough, and this too shall pass.

I consider you a survivor, and I think with all of the things you've lived through already, life can throw everything at you but the kitchen sink and you'll come out stronger. Some people are born fighters. That's one thing prominent Pluto energy does help with in life.

In case anyone prefers a visual, here's my natal chart with some of the transits I was talking about. Those transits were in June 2013, which was kind of the midpoint of it for me.

Thank you for your support and kind words. I've been though a lot but I've always only survived, im ready the thrive and take off in ways I've always known I should. I'm meant to be more than invisible, Ive found myself inside me, now I need to find myself outwardly and show everyone else who I am.

Pluto rules my 2nd, Pluto is on my AC
Neptune rules my 6th, Neptune is in my 3rd(conjunct Sun/Merc)
Uranus rules my 5th, Uranus is in my 2nd
Saturn rules my 4th, Saturn is in my 10th(Saturn trine Sun/Merc exact)

I think I see where this is going....

Thank you so much for explaining and then showing your chart and how these transits are playing out for you....I can see the patterns.
My last child was an unexpected natural birth...he came so quickly it was like he tore through me😁
I remember thinking I was not going to survive it, I've never felt anything like that. Id always thought women screaming was so exaggerated...but I screamed like I've never screamed before and then it was over and I had this beautiful baby boy.
So I understand your analogy perfectly!! Thank you!

Beautiful story Sylven, thank you for sharing! 💗
What houses is your Pluto, Neptune, Uraunus, Saturn in and which houses rule these planets?

Your story sounds hard, a lot of struggles...I'm so glad your coming out the other side stronger. I wonder how Saturn/Saturn will play out for you.....I bet that transit is a strong one! Maybe the best one for forcing is to get to real and start being true to our soul. I'm scared but looking forward to this...I just want to change everything and I'm going to embrace this energy that's pushing me forward. I have libra Pluto on AC(3 degree)...you said yours is in 1st we have that in common.

I'm scared that my 5th house is involved in mine, Uranus rules my 5th, Uranus is in my 2nd house.
I'm single now but getting to know someone.
I don't want to get with someone who truly loves me and then hurt them. After all I've been through and waited for someone who really cares about me...it would kill me to be drawn into a situation where I hurt the only person who's been there for me.

Ah no worries Gabby. He's doing well! Thanks!

It takes a while before I can digest all the transits. I have to live them over again. Thinking hard when and what happend. I need to sit for it and I am really looking forward to it but it takes time. It's good to talk about midlife, a very important and restless time in our lives.

Thanks Gabby for this post it has been most insightful hearing yours and others experiences. I have my tPluto sq natal Pluto coming up in a few years. At that same time tPluto will also conjunct my nMars.

I can't lie I've been fearing it. Might be some intense explosions

Teasel,
I'm sorry you feel this way. I wanted to acknowledge your frustration and unhappiness. I hope you find some inner happiness that shines a little light on every day for you. That little light is all you need. Hang on to it and focus on that, and little by little it grows every day.

I experienced a pretty rough patch not too long ago, but it turned out it was the culmination of me denying myself for my whole life. Once I quit fighting myself, life got a whole lot happier For whatever you are going through, I hope you find that too.

As for the post, I am going through this almost exact right now. At the same time, tSaturn is square my nSaturn, and conjunct my ASC. Divorce, child rearing adjustments, sacrifices, working again and being self sufficient, going back to school, navigating love relationships as a late 30's single parent... It's been pretty rough, but oh so good. I have uprooted everything, changed direction in life, and I am seeing progress. I have days where I want to just curl up and cry, but as soon as I get through that, I can see the progress I am making. I have a long road ahead, but it's a good one. And even though I am tired already, I am so very thankful to have this opportunity to start again. I feel like I have been granted the biggest gift of my life.

Don't worry to much, we all have to go through it and I get hope from the fact theres a lot of ppl who have passed through it alive, lol! There is hope!!

I'm having the Pluto/Pluto right now and Neptune/Neptune...it's so confusing and I feel kind of like I'm imploding on the inside. But I feel theres a happy ending if I can get past these stressful feelings.

Having Mars there, you might really get a lot done or kill someone, lol...just playing! But seriously it feels like inside I'm moving so fast that I can't keep up on the outside. It's stressful, I just want to crawl in bed and cry because I feel so off and out of control.

Transit Pluto Square Pluto

Everyone born in your generation will experience this cycle in their late 30’s, and it seems to prepare you for your upcoming “mid-life crisis” that will take place between the ages of 39 and 46. The effects of this cycle are very subtle as they work more on a psychological level, but will be valuable as you approach the age of 40. You’re getting more in touch with the deeper aspects of your personal power and will need to understand your motives for success more clearly. You may experience resistance from other people or struggle with those in positions of power. This is just testing your own power and if you remain open to learning from these lessons, you’ll be more prepared to take on the changes that mid-life brings. You should spend more time learning your craft or developing your talents, which will enhance your own sense of self-worth by improving your earning potential.

Transit Neptune Square Neptune

The events of this time are directly related to your “mid-life crisis”, which lasts from your late thirties to the age of 45. While other energies are creating enormous havoc in your life, there’s also a more subtle development having to do with your spiritual beliefs. You may have been living according to doctrines you learned in childhood, and now these ideals are being tested. You may feel an inner motivation to question these beliefs, but external situations may also directly confront your sense of faith and force you to re-examine your belief system. You may feel confused or disoriented and not know which elements of your spiritual views are valid and which are not. You should allow yourself plenty of time to go through this process of re-evaluation and know that a certain amount of confusion is perfectly normal now. You’re building an entirely new life structure that will allow you more freedom of expression in your activities in the world, and these new insights will work their way into your consciousness and become a part of your new reality.

You’re officially entering your “mid-life crisis”, when many aspects of your life will undergo serious change. We experience a tremendous need to be responsible as we turn 30, and will often become rooted in situations that offer security, or work hard to live up to the expectations of other people and society in general. But if you’ve sacrificed your individuality in the process of achieving success, you’ll experience more of a crisis now. You’re a distinct individual and quite unique and will feel more of a need to express that uniqueness now; the more you’ve conformed to society, the more you’ll need to break free in order to assert yourself. This urge is so compelling that you’ll give little thought to the consequences of your actions. Other people are usually in shock over your decisions, but the motivation behind your actions is valid and the changes you’re making are necessary to allow you more independence. You’ll tend to care less about what others think of you and may even change your physical appearance to reflect this newfound freedom. If you’re reluctant to follow your inner urge for freedom, outer circumstances will oblige and you may experience disruption due to the actions of other people, especially personal or professional partners. On the other hand, if you’ve been living your life according to your own rules and find true satisfaction in the structures of your life, then no major change may be necessary. You may still look for new ways to express yourself in the world through personal creativity, but there may not be the need for a total overhaul in your life.

Transit Saturn Opposition Saturn

This period of time will be extremely significant and very challenging, but will help you put your life back on track. This cycle will take place once in your adult life, at about 44-45 years of age (this will also occur at 14-15 years of age, and again in your mid-seventies). As you were approaching the age of 30, you made very important changes in your life that put you on a new course. You may have started a new career or experienced a renewed sense of purpose in your life direction. The events of this year will force you to re-examine the path you’ve been on over the last 15 years and make whatever changes are necessary to allow you to continue. If you’ve been truly satisfied with your career path, you’ll have the opportunity to reach a new level of success and personal fulfillment. This will demand intense hard work and you may experience tremendous self-doubt as you confront your challenges. If you’re committed to your path, you’ll face these insecurities and find a new appreciation for your talents. However, if you haven’t been fulfilled in your career, these challenges will serve to show you that you need to completely change your direction and start over. Either response will be appropriate, depending on your situation. This time represents the culmination of your “mid-life crisis” that started around the age of 40, when you likely experienced upheaval and disruption in your life. You can now put the pieces back into place, but with a better perspective on what direction is really best for your ultimate fulfillment.

"Mid-life Crisis" http://astrologyclub.org/astrology-mid-life-crisis/

Mid-life Crisis
So let’s take a quick trip through the time table of the mid-life crisis. You may laugh, you may cry. Although, a simple ah-haaaaa will be the gateway to navigating the passage of inner growth the Universe has laid out for you.

On the astrological time table, this normally involves transits of the outer planets and the intensity can be exacerbated if an outer planet also touches on a personal planet, and even more so, if the outer planet touches on the Sun and the Moon. Depending on the way an individuals chart is laid out, sometimes the four angles can also get caught up in the drama of personal growth.

First Saturn return

Ok, at around age 28-29, you hit your first Saturn return. That is the final astrological rite of passage into adulthood. A major life change will occur … marriage, divorce, having a child, buying a home, taking on a very responsible job, etc. Now at that age, most people are starting to come out of the whole thing that everything in life is a damn big deal. The big deal about everything in life is the young to mid-20’s, then you start to settle in.

Transit Saturn squares natal Saturn

At around age 35 – 36, then you hit Saturn squares Saturn … it is a seven year cycle, and that is the time you go back and reflect on the big deal stuff that happened during the Saturn return. If it is still holding up, it gets stronger. If it was shaky to begin with, oh boy, life may not be too sweet that year because you have to backtrack and clean up your mess. You are still doing pretty good because you have youth on your side and not too many people have faced the question of their own mortality yet.

Transit Pluto square natal Pluto

Then we start hitting the biggies …… now many years back, Pluto making a square to natal Pluto did not happen until much later in life. But see, once Pluto hit Virgo, it started speeding up, the time it spent in Libra was shorter, Scorpio was real short (thank you very much God) and now the time is increasing again as Pluto moves through Sagittarius.

Let’s start with one of the most dynamic aspects, a square – a 90 degree angle. Just a few reminders about why the square aspect can present such a challenge. With a square, the elements of the two signs are out of sync, one sign is female in nature and the other is male in nature. Keep in mind, there is some help with a small trick here, the qualities of the signs are the same, either fixed, mutable or cardinal.

Now for the last of the baby boomers, somewhere in the late 30’s Pluto is going to make a square to your natal Pluto. Think like this ….. natal Pluto being the god of the underworld, and transit Pluto possibly being the god of hell. You are going to get squeezed, that is all there is to it. You just have to get to the heart and soul of the issues with the house that natal Pluto is located in. The house that Pluto is moving through is where you find your salvation because that is where you will find the answers and the energy to deal with the natal placement of Pluto. So along comes the square …….transit Pluto putting a choke-hold on your natal Pluto placement. Remember, we are talking about the group of very late baby boomers who lived through the speed-up motion of Pluto, for prior to that, Pluto could and did spend two and sometimes even three decades in one sign.

Transit Neptune square natal Neptune

So, after you duke it out with Pluto and just start to catch your breath, here comes Neptune, oh lets say around age 40 – the mistress of delusion and deception the queen of la-la land, the one and only original mystical wizard. And what is Neptune going to do? Well, transit Neptune is also going to make a square to your natal Neptune. Here we go again…..another square. Find where Neptune is in your natal chart, and most likely, that is the spot where you are in self-denial, have been deluding yourself, or have been deceived by others.

Again, by way of a square we have received a demanding memo from the Universe that you have to pay attention and work, work like the dickens so you can have a shot at claiming a very rewarding prize. That natal Neptune is going to get broken down … no two ways about that. If your natal Neptune is in a female sign, you almost have to pull the male energy out of your personality to harden up the Neptune and get yourself to get real and if natal Neptune is in a male sign, use the transit of Neptune to soften up the hard shell that you have surrounded yourself with as a phoney layer of protection.

By the way, as for what signs are male and female – all earth and water signs are female, and all fire and air signs are male, that’s it, that is all there is to it. Where many get confused on this is that they are drawing on energy that is not usually expressed by them and it throws them off center. With the square aspect, elements that normally do not compliment each other are bringing friction and the individual being pressured with the challenges of a square are having to learn to integrate yin-yang energy.

Transit Uranus opposition natal Uranus

You still standing? Enough you say … oh no the Heavens say, we are not done with you yet ……. now we are going to give you a real jolt … Uranus opposition Uranus. Hello and welcome to the club of insomniacs anonymous! Your whole body is just in this huge state of rushing energy, you can feel like a pressure cooker ready to explode, and yet you are craving something, you just don’t know what you are craving … you are dissatisfied with everything in life because nothing is moving fast enough for you, life is boring and people are stupid … you have these tremendous flashes of insight … things like all of a sudden you know what the meaning of life is.

You feel like just tossing everything overboard, for at this point many aspects of your life do not make a lot of sense, you feel like a volcano that has been dormant and just ready to blow. And you don’t sleep, how could you? You cannot turn the mind off. Colors are more intense; you finally understand the lyrics and meanings of songs you have heard hundreds of time in the past. A stodgy life style is cramping you and yet you cannot figure out what is happening. What is happening is that basically, you have done most of the work that is required by an adult for usually when this transit hits, your kids are pretty much taking care of themselves and the company you are working for is offering you an early retirement/buy-out package so they can bring in someone younger to do the same job at half the cost.

Face it … this really is a new lease on life. If handled with care, you kind of get to be a kid again, only this time you have to accept the responsibility and the consequences for your actions. Eastern teachings have an expression for this type of energy release – kundalini energy is rising … it starts at the root chakra, base of the spine and starts to move upwards. This is the transit when men leave their wives and go get themselves a red sports car and a 25-year-old girlfriend. If more women were smart, before this hits, they would get themselves in shape, and turn the tables on the husbands. I personally feel that men get more out of this transit than women because women are too afraid to have a long term marriage fall apart and they worry about their kids, what their friends, family and neighbors will say and their financial security. If both men and women were smarter and seeing what is going on, they would use this transit to put the spark back into their marriages.

Transit Saturn opposite Saturn

So far, we started with Saturn, we moved to Pluto, then hit Neptune, now Uranus is wrecking havoc … but wait … there is more to come, we come right back to where we started and this usually kicks in somewhere around the age of 44 … Saturn positions himself opposite to the natal placement of Saturn. This is like a kid being brought up by two very stern fathers … no matter what you say or do, you are going to be held accountable for EVERYTHING! And I do mean everything. This is the time when you have to go back and clean up all the wreckage that has been caused by the preceding transits. This is usually felt as a personal tour of hell on earth. What do they say? As above, so below … so you are going to catch it from both directions. You have got work to do and you will work very hard and that is for at least a year, give or take a few months. There will be days when you come crawling home and are thinking about nothing else except a good long sleep. Find the house that natal Saturn is in, those are the issues … go across to the polar opposite, and that is the energy you are going to have to draw on to get home base Saturn taken care of.

You still with me? Are you reeling … OK, it gets better, for now much of the hard physical work is done, and with Saturn, it mostly is physical work, for Saturn is a very materialistic type of energy. Breath deep, and again, and again … because as you draw nearer to the 50-52 age mark, you come up on the return of Chiron. I do not know anyone that has had a lot of trouble with that, for by that time, you have adopted a pose that is very well phrased by American author and poet, Alice Walker: Expect nothing; live frugally on surprise.

Transit Chiron conjunct natal Chiron

The Chiron return seems to be the huge healing of all the upheaval of the mid-life crisis. You cry, you laugh and you are grateful to be given another chance to maybe fulfill some of those youthful dreams. And the dreams have never really gone away, you just put them on a shelf. Now you take them back out and see if you can make a go of them and if those dreams are still a part of who you have become. And you may have a few wistful moments when you realize that some of those dreams really did not fully express who you could be … you short changed yourself. Now you have the ability to start reaching for the stars again.

Some of the best things that you can do for yourself to get through the mid-life crisis, keep your body physically fit, cry when you need to, take an extra nap when you feel like it, light body work such as massage and Tai Chi, change your diet to a lighter fare, drink gallons of water, find an enjoyable hobby or creative pursuit, make sure you have a great circle of friends for a support group is always needed at this time, do the very best you can to keep the finances under control and don’t ever expect that you will know what the next day brings. You won’t, learn to accept that.

My first astrology teacher/mentor had a wonderful saying: Forty is the old age of youth, but forty is the youth of old age. Just think, you are not going to be sent to your room if you don’t want to eat your veggies.

During my Pluto square Pluto transit, I had my son and started going to an energy healer and psychotherapist once a week. I worked through a lot of emotional crap that needed healing.

I wish that transit could last forever, lol. But for me, I was blessed because it was simultaneously trine my Moon and sextile my Sun, and prior to that it had passed over my Vertex.

Uranus square Uranus would be the whackadoodle transit I would watch out for, lol.

Edit: I meant Uranus opposite Uranus. Yes, that definitely calls for reevaluation in a person's life.

Also, when my son was born, T Saturn was square my Saturn, and T Pluto was square my Pluto. No mid-life crisis, just a very welcome change. Some changes were just a bit rough, but not overly so. Just emotional and psychological adjustments, mostly.

My Saturn return sucked. Royally. But my life was a mess, and Saturn turned it right for the best.

Hopefully, Pluto will help you to eventually be an even more awesome and pure version of You.

Thank you....I know it will get better!

To get the transits...
Astro.com--Extended charts section--Ephemeris
Put the year you want to see the transits for in "start date" section. Then click on "Click here to show Ephemeris"
It will open up another tab and show you the planets placements for each day/month for that year..

If there are asteroids you have typed in at the bottom it will show you the Ephemeris for those asteroids instead of the planets. Delete those asteroid numbers or hit the "reset" button next to "Click here to show Ephemeris" and that will delete your asteroids.

Nice! I will be going through this transit early next year.
Actually I think it is already talking place. Just a couple of degrees away

tr.Pluto in the 7th sq. nPluto on IC. Transformation taking place in the home I guess.

At the same time..
tr.Saturn conjuct nMoon/Neptune sq. nSaturn, sq. Mars

tr.Neptune sq. nMoon, oppose nSaturn (most depressing transit I have gone through)

I have a feeling I will be feeling the Pluto square faintly compared to t.Saturn triggering my T-Square.

Stay strong Gabby! I am sure that once through these difficult struggles, so many lessons will have been learnt and your inner power will be stronger than ever!

Pluto is going direct again, Stationary Direct today! YAY

My life totally exploded the last few weeks as rx Pluto got into a tighter and tighter square to a my natal Pluto....it just started settling down yesterday. I checked transits and found Pluto was going direct, that makes sense.

How good to have a breather there!

Really, these times really made me feel alive and only brought me more to myself. It wasn't that bad. For me ... A lot of awesome deep loving feelings, painful as well but so so sweet too.

@ Gabby

It sounds like you are getting stronger! Thank you for describing the energy of this transit!

But that the same time I'm thinking...WHY must we go through all the hard aspects as we get older?? lol Doesn't life ever get easier?

To you and anyone who has been through any of those heavy hitting transits you listed, I have a few questions:

What would you do differently to prepare for it?

What makes some of us (like the girl Sylven mentioned) unable to survive the tougher transits?

My husband and I are going through our 1st Saturn Return now. All the cliche things are happening. He got promoted and has more responsibility and we're also trying to have a baby/ save for a house/ etc.

The reason I ask those questions is because Saturn will conjunct mine to the exact degree in late December/ early January, simultaneously squaring my sun. The last time Saturn opposed my sun was the darkest time of my life. It literally felt like the world had lost its vibrance and turned a few shades darker. I never knew depression was a real thing until it hit me then (and I had no knowledge of astrology at the time). However, I was born around the full moon so Saturn was doubly hitting me by the conjunction with my moon. My Saturn transits always seem to be a double edged knife...

Anyway, I wonder if because some of us are weaker than others that it burns us out easier?

And IS there an actual way to prepare? How do we figure out what lessons we're supposed to learn?
