So I have noticed tr. Pluto square natal Pluto seems to coincide with ppl, esp men going through some sort of complete dissatisfaction with their current life and acting like kids with no responsibility at all.
Most ppl get this transit in their mid-late 30's....it last a few years that Pluto's is going back n forth squaring natal Pluto.

I'd never thought to much about it but I've been going through this transit the past couple years and it's making me want to make so many changes. I want to be free of anything that I feel is holding me down or back.
Honestly I wish I could sell everything in my home and start again with nothing. Of course I can't do that with children, but I find it interesting that I feel like this.
I feel a bit spastic and out of control...the closer tr.Pluto rx gets to my Pluto, the more frustrated I feel.

I know now and after tr. Pluto makes it's way past my Pluto....everything is going to different. I'm looking back a bit disgusted that I didn't take better care of myself and make sure I had what I needed.
I know after this I'm going to run my life different. I'm going to care less about what others think and start taking better care of my needs. I've already started making these changes.
I'm not going to go crazy but I'm getting rid of ppl and things that are not supporting my happiness and dreams.

I'm just wondering if this is a catalyst to a midlife crisis or midlife change...where ppl either go crazy or get their life pulled together, which way it goes most likely depends on natal aspects to their Pluto.

Any thoughts?

Yes, this one can seem to time diversions from a healthy track of responsibility and maintaining what they've built up. But not everyone reacts this way.

Decades ago this transit could signal end of life, rather than mid-life crisis. (If you were born in 1900, you'd have been in your mid-60s before Pluto transited square natal Pluto). So the transit itself does not mean mid-life crisis per se. It does reveal persons who are disempowered and simply don't know how to deal with that. Others will get busy figuring it out, asking for help, clearing out life debris and getting back to what is of core importance to them.

After this I'm going to run my life different. I'm going to care less about what others think and start taking better care of my needs. I've already started making these changes.

Kudos to you! This is what its all about.

We just can't afford to concern ourselves much with what others might think of us, particularly those we don't live with. Most of the time it isn't about what others think -- we don't even know that 90% of the time -- its about what we silently speculate they might think of us if we_____(fill in blank.

Pluto is about finding our own inner seed of knowing, of completeness, and using that power, that unshakability to help others along who don't yet have it.

More power to ya, Gabby!

This transit has been stressful but I'm seeing the gift in it now. Thank you again!

It happened to me, too, only it depressed me - before other things happened. I remember one day, six years ago, when I just curled up on the couch, out of it, thinking about how I should have done things differently - although I'm also sure that had I done things differently, I would have been hit in a similar way, after making other mistakes.

Interesting. I know one person who is going through this transit now. Some months ago he decided to go back to his home country, after having spent 8 years abroad, as an expat.
He completely changed his job as well and cut contact with many people… I think he wants to start everything anew. His other transits, including the long term ones are quite positive, so I think this was a good move maybe…

I was just thinking about what happens when ones Natal Pluto squares the transit. Makes sense now!

But what about the other two generational planets??

Midlife (yes with a capital M) begins with Pluto Squaring itself. Later on Uranus opp Uranus, Neptune square Neptune and the culmination is Saturn opp Saturn.
I once read a great article but I don't think this was it but still pasting it here.

Oh and pretty heavy shiz can happen when the culmination point has arrived. I know of one woman who killed herself when the opposition was exact. Poor girl! Of course it's all about how you have handled it in the past.

That state of mind has been with me pretty much all the time, for the past four or so years. Especially the past three. I was feeling better and more confident, and then... my sister happened, other things happened, and nothing is the same. I am actually feeling emotional this morning, because of everything. I felt fine yesterday, once I was out of the house, but it never goes away completely. I was thinking earlier, that people say, "It's easy to be happy when things are going well." It actually isn't for all of us, when things have been bad for so long, and then things ease up - it doesn't remove the fall-out and make things magically okay.

eh, I might delete this in a while. I'm not feeling good.

Saturn square Saturn also happened for me four years ago. From my 12th. I had the oppositions to my Aries planets, and am about to once again have the opposition to my Gemini Moon, Venus, SN, and Vertex. It's almost never-ending.

Tr. Uranus is on my Anti-Vertex, very appropriate!

I'm getting both Pluto sq. Pluto and Neptune sq. Neptune at the same time.
Plus tr. Pluto is on my progressed Sun.

Looking at transits, my Uranus/Uraunus opposition will overlap with Saturn/Saturn opposition in 2020...
I guess I'm lucky and get to kill 2 birds with 1 stone, lucky me!!

I'm going to read that article now!!
Amazing article, Thank you! Very eye opening!

Funny...I've been feeling an urge to move to a new country, I want to sell everything I own to...I'm so tired of feeling held back.
I'm not sure what are my long term transits, but Saturn is moving into my sun...

Really? I am so glad you like it!

Yeah, it differs somewhat for some people. Like the Saturn return. But hey... stuff is happening and you will feel alive. Would we truly be happy when everything went smooth? No development and such? I wouldn't. It's actually pretty cool all. It must be my Uranian and plutonian way that loves it. Of course, again all depends how much work you have done in the past how you will feel. Depends on the rest of your natal. And some people just ride it through smoothly and frequently (this is my view) this is because they choose to stay on the surface and don't want to do the inner work. All well, it is a choice really. Or those people get hit by sickness because then they are forced to listen. Something along those lines. Thank god we have astro but on the other hand astro can kill the letting go of wanting to know how it works.

Things that went down 2013 and through mid-2014 for me:

Sicker than I've ever been! Pneumonia x 2, penicilin allergy, strange rashes, problems breathing, developed a severe intolerance to gluten and then the icing on cake: an extremely bad panic attack that rendered me completely unable to move. Room mate had to drive to ER. I had a bad lactic build-up in muscles as well so I couldn't literally move.

Got a DUI.

Was in a bad car accident (not related to DUI).

Left USA after 18 years and moved back home.

Stayed with parents for 6 months that nearly made me kill my THEN heavily drinking mom. She really made me question my place on earth during that time :-/

I had tPluto sq nPluto.

tMars conj nPluto.

tSaturn right over my IC and square nSaturn.

tNN conj nNN exact.

tNeptune conj nVertex.

Those were NOT good times!!!!

Great writing in your OP, Gabby. I relate to all of that.

My sun 15 Cap, 6H
My Pluto 11 Libra, 3H
My Jupiter 16 Aries, 9H

Scorpio NN, with transiting Pluto conjunct sun

Just look at what I'm doing currently. I'm on an astrology forum. It's Sunday. In years past, I would have been appeasing my husband who likes to rest on the Sabbath, by taking a break from the computer...I would have been baking and cooking and catching up on housework all day.

The Pluto-Uranus square hitting my sun-Jupiter was the last straw with that, I decided I'm not going to honor his wishes, I'm going to honor mine instead. My Jupiter is feeling more selfish than usual, and so is my sun, leaving my natal 3H LIBRA Pluto beseiged...and I am not speaking just to appease people as much.

No, I really have to get a little more selfish at this time.

When I was graduating from college, I was sitting in a bar with a friend who asked me, "So what do you want to do in life? What career do you want?"
I said, "Honestly??...I want to be an astrologer."
She said, "Wow, that has NOTHING to do with your degree. That's crazy."

Yeah that is the general reaction from everyone, my most heartfelt career desires are crazy, and with Libra Pluto, all my life I've been trying to be a people pleaser. But with Pluto on my sun, it's like I'm blocking everyone out...not REALLY...but I am more willing to say things that I know will cause contention...that I *know* are stepping on some toes, at least gently. I am speaking and living with the underlying thought of, "Hey, this is my world too. I'm entitled to take up space, too. Move over, make a little room for me, I exist. I can't help it if that bothers you, that's just how the cookie crumbles."

I'm catching up on selfish pursuits that I never made time for before, trying to make up for lost time. Transiting Neptune squaring my Neptune, though widely, is also granting me like a fog cocoon, in which I can transform. I'm doing a lot of things invisibly, intuitively, not even being willing to THINK about things too much, for fear that the thoughts will be too forceful and have a distorting effect.

"The births of all things are weak and tender, therefore we should have our eyes intent on beginnings." - Montaigne

I might delete this later, because I dislike putting too fine a point on it. I may wish to revise later, with better understanding.

Thank you for knowing what I mean about just needing this right to be myself. Though of course, I wish neither of us had to deal with it.

And I also want to be fully changed yesterday. Ha, that's our Jupiter in Aries, maybe? (Did you know a lot of racecar drivers have Jupiter in Aries? Mario Andretti, Dale Earnhardt, Jimmie Johnson..about a third of the men on this top 10 list Plus Mr. Lamborghini himself.)

We have a lot in common, astrologically...I didn't realize your pr sun is on my sun.

I guess your sun and Pluto have been tracking together for a while? What a pain in the neck. But you seem to have made the best of it.

I hadn't thought about the fact that they would have been tracking together, ugh! Pluto on AC and Pluto/Progressed Sun hanging around each other and squaring my natal Pluto...guess I'm a big glutton for Pluto. Yuck!!

I had no idea about racecar drivers and aries Jupiter, I guess it makes sense we can be daredevils! at least we 'seem' to be fearless or a little bit crazy. Lol

Impatience...it's a beautiful thing! 😎 not really.

Ugh! Those transits do NOT play around. I'm in the June '72 group and spent the last few years going through the thick of it. I'm still not out of the woods just yet, but I can see the clearing. Whew!

I've got:
Pluto @ 29° Virgo
Neptune @ 3° Sag
Uranus @ 14° Libra conj. IC @ 10°48'Libra
Saturn @ 12° Gem

The dawn of the restless rumblings did begin as Pluto was squaring Pluto, but as it eased up, the Nept. sq. Nept. and Uranus opp. Uranus both hit me at once and almost turned my life upside down.

Then, Pluto hit mid-Cap and formed a tight T-square with my natal Uranus-IC conj. opposing transiting Uranus in Aries up on my Midheaven and it was sheer psychological hell. I just felt like I was losing myself. It's like I was forgetting who "me" was and remembering who "me" was at the same time. I didn't want my family torn apart though, and I love my husband and children, so I held on for the ride and just grit my teeth and tried to bare through it. That's really all you can do.

It's just now beginning to ease up, and I still have the Sat. opp. Sat. to go through. Saturn is my 7th house ruler, too, so I don't know what that's gonna bring. More ugh.

I have learned to center myself, though. When the internal winds got too strong, my mind would just stand still in the calm eye of the storm.

Coming around the bend, I've got that Cap Pluto heading toward my DC and NN conjunction, so I'm just hanging on for the ride. Wheeeeeee.
