Chart ruler (Virgo) is square Neptune and Mercury is semi square Neptune. Mercury is also square Pluto.

My Moon/Venus/SN are all conjunct in Gemini, and I carry piles of books to a table in the bookstore. I'm usually in a bookstore at least once a week. I also order things through the library, so whenever a pile of books comes in, it's like Christmas morning.

As I mentioned before, I grew tired of the cookbooks, and health subjects, so I've been roaming the fiction section. I read We Need To Talk About Kevin, three years ago, and it was a difficult book to read, but well-written. I saw Columbine in the store recently, and I don't think I can read that. I stopped reading true crime stories, in my mid-twenties, after I had nightmares.

Yes and I see the Leo in that "coolest awesomeness of the main character" if that makes sense . Plus the Leo loves to be admired and if you save the day with those awesome unique powers, yea you get that admiration hehe . Or even if you die by saving the world, you still get remembered by a great deed.. Oh this sounds so corny lol.

I probably see my Uranus in Sag int he 1st here too... Enjoying what's different and that also stands out because of that uniqueness.

My Mercury is in Leo in the 9th:

conjuct sun (not combust, 5 orb)
semi square Venus exact
opposite Jupiter
square Saturn (yikes!)
trine Uranus
Quintile Pluto exact
trine MC
etc.

Nice thread!

Same thing with Temeraire. Ooh and there'll be movie adaptation. I've been so excited ever since I knew of this news.

[QUOTE]The Hollywood Reporter reports that Peter Jackson, who is best known for directing the The Lord of the Rings trilogy and King Kong, has optioned the rights to the series. Jackson added that Temeraire "is a terrific meld of two genres that I particularly love—fantasy and historical epic. I can't wait to see Napoleonic battles fought with a squadron of dragons. That's what I go to the movies for."[9]

YES! Ooooh I can't wait for it too!
At same time I also hope they don't mess up with the series... So many times they try to adapt excellent books into the screens and it's just too difficult because of certain details...then I end up disappointed that I watched the thing.
I will trust Mr Jackson though!

^ Yup. I'm waiting furiously.

I feel the same about movie adaptations. Most of the time I end up feeling a bit disappointed. Although Lord of the Rings live up to my expectation. I hope he will pull something good this time. Think about how spectacular the battle scenes will be. They look pretty good in my mind lol.

Oh I love glorious, spectacular battles. Harry Potter let me down a little in that regard. I was hoping for something really great at the end (T__T)

Another thing. Don't you just hate unfinished series? I do. Or ongoing series? I guess a bit of waiting builds up anticipation, but hell, writers like George RR Martin strike fear into my heart. More than ten years I've been waiting...

Yes and yes!! I completely agree with everything you said!
Yea and I was also a little disappointed with the last movie of The Hobbit, but oh well.

Yes I hate ongoing series lol.
Goodness if I am really hooked in a book, I can finish it in one or two days depending on the length... then I regret it because I am waiting for a year (or more) or months for the new one to be released!! It's torture!
So I have this crazy self dialogue going on sometimes: "you really want to read but you should probably stop... there won't be a next one afterwards you know?!" "But, but, but I am really loving this!! Aaah screw it I will keep reading!".
Then suffering dawns. lol

Like now, I am dying for the end of October to get my hands on the next book after The Alloy of Law... I keep telling myself "it's just one more month, breaaaaath".
I keep wondering where is my Moon in Taurus... I am so bad at having patience sometimes lol. It's probably because it's in the 5th getting a little lionized.

Hahaha I have the same feeling with George RR Martin in many ways, especially since he has the balls to just kill anyone and everyone he wants in his stories, its quite daring and refreshing too at same time!
There isn't even an expected date for the release of his new book right?

EDIT: I just realized A Dance with Dragons just came out around 2011 or 2012 right?

I both read and write fantasy books.

Scorpio ASC with ruler in 12th house.
Sun trine Jupiter.
Sun in 9th house in Cancer with Moon in Virgo in 10th house.
Mercury in Leo in 9th house Rx with ruler in the same house.
Jupiter in 5th house in Pisces.

I always feel like I'm in the minority when I say I don't like fantasy or sci-fi. (Although I do like Octavia E. Butler's Xenogenesis trilogy and the Warriors series by Erin Hunter. Just in general I don't like these genres.) I like realistic fiction, especially if they're dramatic in some way or about "real" and "tough"/taboo issues. So typical teen/young adult stuff to the darker teen/YA.

I think this is why I like non-fiction a lot too. I would love to read more memoirs but I don't. I seem to gravitate towards more political/activist/sociological type material because I love to learn.

I think being earth dominant (almost all of my personal planets are in earth) is a large part of why I don't like fantasy and sci-fi even though I apparently have a powerful Neptune. I'd rather be grounded in reality. I have a strong Aquarius and Uranus (which is dignified) and a 12th house stellium so I like to analyze society.

My descendant is in Scorpio so maybe that's why I'm drawn to "darker" subjects. I don't have any planets there though. I like to learn because of my Virgo Mars r and possibly because of my Sagittarius Pluto r.

I don't like sci-fi either, it seems like a waste of time for me personally, though I appreciate the creativity that goes into it.

Honestly, it's hard for me to read books these days because I get this nagging feeling that I'm wasting my actual life. I feel the same with movies or TV (more so with TV - I despise it). I loved reading when I was younger though, and sometimes I still get in the mood for it (like during long summers). I've always been drawn to memoirs about dysfunctional families, which probably has to do with having Venus / Pluto in Scorpio in the 4H. Running With Scissors (and all of Agusten Burroughs's other books) were my favorites growing up. I also enjoyed The Glass Castle. In Cold Blood by Truman Capote was one of my more recent favorites, as was The Bonfire of the Vanities. I liked reading Wuthering Heights in high school, and I found all of Ayn Rand's books fascinating. There's tons more that I'm missing.. but I guess the common denominator in most of the books I love is the presence of complex or odd characters.

That's so cool Rosalind! I used to write fantasy books too when I was small (I stopped writing when I was a teen) and it's interesting we share a little similarity with our placements.

My Mercury is in Leo in the 9th and is Rx also, ruler also in the 9th and conjunct. I have Virgo MC but the 10th is empty.
I am also Scorpio ASC, ruler is on the 11th though. I have Saturn in the 12th.
My Sun also aspects Jupiter, but by opposition.
Jupiter is in Aquarius in the 3rd.

Edit: I have a mutual reception between my Jupiter and my Uranus. Jupiter in Aquarius Sextile Uranus in Sag. Do you have any aspect between these two? I also have Mercury trine Uranus and you?

Lots of times I had a urge to start writing again but I never did and I pursued other ways of expressing my creativity. Mercury Square Saturn is tough.

Fantasy! Some sci fi. Mythology books. Anything that transports me into a new world that is completely not like this one. I actually dont really like books that take place in the here and now or even in historical times. Aqua sun!

I read teen books for guilty pleasure lol. Maybe venus conj neptune? For the "tame" love stories where nothing ever happens beyond a kiss with every meaning behind it? haha.

I hate crime/mystery/murder books. Im not sure what in my chart explains this.

I dont like non fiction because I get bored easily. Mercury chart ruler.

We all need an escape. I've felt the ame way about having Netflix, or a DVR (I record a lot), but this afternoon, I was able to sit and watch a movie, and then iZombie, snuggled up with my dog, as the clouds build up outside for rain, and it was lovely. A perfect Friday afternoon in September.

Nice. Yeah, I just meant that TV, sci-fi or even books in general don't usually do it for me. It's odd, usually if I start to read or watch something, I find it prompts me to get out and do something before I can get properly immersed. Must be all the fire in me..
I do like to snuggle while it's raining, though. Yesterday, I skipped the snuggling altogether and just walked through the pouring rain without an umbrella. So good. I was laughing to myself because this guy asked me if I wanted to get under his umbrella, and I laughed and said it was too late, but thanks. He didn't think it was funny..

Yes to everything you said.

Man I clutch at my books as though they’re my last can of canned peach - I have to nibble one slice a day coz when it’s gone, it’s gone. But sometimes my hunger gets the better of me *sob* and I gore myself on those books. Then much to my horror, they’re over too quickly. I remember waiting in front of a bookstore at 4AM for the 6th Harry Potter volume. Until this day, I’ve never waited like that for anything.

LOL moon in Taurus may means that you have an incredible appetite. In this case, for fantasy books. Waiting for a book to come out is like waiting hungrily for the next meal.

Yeah A dance with dragons just came out not too long ago. But I’m dying to know the end. The series takes too long.

Rofl I guess that’s one of the things that make GOT so interesting. I like how the author makes the plots really twisted and complicated, one almost feels like every character is important, and nothing can off them. BAM, SURPRISE M*THERF*CKERS, they’re dead. Quickly, efficiently, and for things simple as poison. Lol from the circumstances around Joffrey I thought the little sour pus was hard to kill and would grow up to spread his toxin. Nope.

I hope Tyrion survives. Have the feeling he might have Targaryen blood, and might be the third dragon head.

I’m reading the “Shattered Sea” series. I’ll have to wait forever for the next one because the second one has only been published this year. In the mean time, to sooth my hunger I’ll read the series you recommended. But they’re not finished. Hmm. LOL what a vicious cycle. Feels almost like a toxic love affair. Makes me clingy, insecure, desperate, doubtful, insane...

Yikes! Sorry for replying so late.

I laughed at your comment about my Moon in Taurus haha.

I won't comment on the GOT because I read the Dance with the Dragons and I don't watch the series, so I am not sure where the series are at...so I will stay quiet to prevent spoilers.
I will comment this since you seem to know about it already: yea Joffrey death is awesome lol, especially how it's done and by whom... oh that sweet innocent old lady hahaha.

Shattered Sea series hmmm, I haven't read those yet. I will check them out.

Yes get your hands on the Mistborn trilogy NOW, you are going to love it!

Lovely talking to you 12muddy

When I was younger I really liked mystery books and my favorite author was Rhett McPherson because she wrote young adult books that described the gore (and gruesomeness) instead of alluding to it like a lot of others.

^^ I attribute that to my Moon opp. Pluto, Pluto in 5H and Mars in 12th.

Now that I'm older most of my books are self-help or related to interpersonal relationships from dating, to my recent purchase: "The Secret Language of Pronouns" by James W. Pennebaker.

I'm not sure what I would attribute this to other than an interest in mastering reading people without having to interact with them.

Other than that I enjoy spooky and mysterious stuff.

I love reading mystery novels.
My favorite author is Agatha Christie.

My Venus in Leo in 8th house probably explains.

I love Into the Wild, too. I'm a Sagittarius rising with my chart ruler in the 11th. It really speaks to that side of me... the nonconformist explorer.

I'm also a big fan of spooky stories, thrillers and suspense fiction. I'm a huge lifelong fan of EAP. I'm Uranian as well (Moon and Mars aspect Uranus) so science-fiction with a twist of realism and drama is appealing to me. I attribute the general love of real life or fantasy darkness and taboo subjects to all the Pluto energy in my chart... Do you also have Scorpio planets or Pluto aspects?
