I live in Amsterdam... and a bunch of my friends who were all laid off at my old company a few months after I was have now journeyed here to blow off some steam on their severance packages before they return to their job hunts.So, of course, a trip to the coffee shop is in order tonight and they are planning to smoke some weed. It made me think about what everyone's 'vice' is. Mine is, unfortunately, liquor. I have to avoid it because alcoholism runs in my family, but if i reaalllyyy need to calm down, a tiny glass of bourbon on the rocks will absolutely help me unwind. Not in as great a way as my yoga, meditating, and running addictions, but we are talking about a whole different thing here. I blame the alcohol thing on my Mars/ Uranus square. I need that escape sometimes, and usually in a pretty obvious way. I also have a Moon/ Neptune square that can be to blame, especially when I'm feeling particularly disillusioned. But, as I get older, of course I'm learning to keep these things in check (the moon/neptune square is a separating aspect). What is yours? Drugs? (Weed, whathaveyou) Food? Alcohol? Sex? Just felt like being a little bit real in this here thread tonight....  IP: Logged |

good scotch and camels or a nice cubani probably can keep it in check but frankly i enjoy it too much i will say though i think my plutonianism makes it a bit more difficult for me to say no to temptation because i want to know about it. probably my 9th house stellium too. any type of knowledge i'm there. crack head wants to teach me how to prepare heroin. cool. ill learn. won't do it but i'm interested to learn IP: Logged |

Or I almost died I used to drink so much because I was depressed I like that to good for you

Hmm.. For me, it varies a lot. Right now, I'm working on overcoming the rest of my vices that still remain.. And, so far it has gone pretty well, I believe. I do have moments I slip into habit though. On another note.. I used to smoke from time to time when I was younger. (Kind of sad, considering my age.) I was never a huge fan of tobacco though.. Mainly the green leaf. Haha Nowadays, I feel like if I ever smoked again, it wouldn't be for quite the same reasons. I feel like it wouldn't be purely for escape.. Rather, a bit of something to help me dissolve my boundaries. To help me to connect with the deeper layers of my mind/psyche. Of course, it is never good to get dependent on anything though. And, I'm not sure I would do it often.. Not sure how well my body would take it, honestly. IP: Logged |

Meeee too. I have taurus mars in the 8th but the 8th house cusp for me is aries. BUT OMG THAT MAKES TAURUS MY 9TH HOUSE CUSP so what.. I expand on eating?? Cigarettes! I have tried everything. I smoke less now, about 4 or 3 cigs a day. I blame my Pisces rising for that. I like pot but I resist the urge to smoke because i know everything could turn into an addiction if i'm not careful. IP: Logged |

Im my observations a lot of heavily plutonian people have he easiest time resisting vices. The two Im thinking of are a scorpio sun, and moon with moon conj pluto and a scorpio moon, venus, pluto asc with the planets avery close to eachother but i forgot which two were tightly conjoined, its all in his first. They are both extremely strict about drugs and alcohol and will stay away from drugs even in a environment that pressures them IP: Logged |

i'm heavily plutonian but stronger than that is all that capricorn saturn in me. i'm alright if i don't want to i don't want to but i just don't see a reason to stop yet. i'm on 3-5 camels a day, cigars only when i can afford and we're talking at most 1.5 fingers of scotch a night. everyone has vices. it's like that hozier song arsonist's lullaby - 'don't you ever tame your demons, but always keep them on a leash' so that's what i do. i control my vices but allow myself to have them IP: Logged |

Really? Maybe those who are a bit older..? Personally, my Pluto is pretty strong in my chart, and, in the past I've dealt with a lot of addiction. Even if it was just really bad psychological addiction to things. To me, Pluto can be obsessive.. And, if it hasn't learned its lesson, I feel it could get pretty attached to pretty much any substance. Pluto can be all or nothing.. And, in saying that.. I feel that those who are Plutonian and are good with maintaining their vices, it is because they have already spent enough time on the 'all' part of the spectrum and have learned better than to go there. Or, if the Plutonian just learned to transcend its attachment to a substance (Pluto seems to be good at overriding attachment through its will..) IP: Logged |

Hmm avoiding tasks that I don't want to do. I postergate and postergate then until there's no other way but doing them. And I guess I should just blame myself. I'm awful at organization as well.I don't even understand why, because being a Taurus asc /Virgo sun/mercury and Capricorn Mars conjunct MC I should be very task-oriented. I don't have any. I like a great many things, but nothing gives me a hard time letting go.If I have to choose, probably beef. Idk what may cause this, but I love beef (raw or medium rare) so much it's almost unnatural. Or thrill-seeking (aries moon) - I have little ones now, so no thrill-seeking in a while. IP: Logged |

I never smoked a lot but I gave up before I got in too deep, my lungs didn't like it. I was getting so tired. But I love smoking unfortunately and I have to fight the craving frequently.
I have Pisces ASC too...go figure I blame Sun conjunct Jupiter for my insatiable apetite. I guess the Gemini stellium is to blame for my sweet tooth. IP: Logged |

I have a few vices. Shopping, smoking weed, drinking, and candy. I'm a Leo sun, Aquarius moon, Sag rising. I blame my Leo sun for the shopping, and probably the Aquarius moon for the other vices I listed. Aquarius moons tend to be aloof. We have a lot of emotions we just don't talk about them hence why I go to smoking and drinking for some "comfort". Sad but true. IP: Logged |

Isn't a vice supposed to be bad for you?? Something you do that you know is bad, but you do it anyway because you like it?? Lol Sheesh, this cannot be a vice. If anything this is a good habit. And you should be proud because most people are unknowingly dehydrated
