I am wondering if anyone relates to the placement of their chart ruler equally to their Ascendant sign, if not more.Including the chart ruler's sign, aspects, and especially house. •Do the themes of the house where your chart ruler is come up repeatedly?
E.g. Chart ruler in the 8th house: Do you experience recurring eighth house themes, such as transformation, power struggles, and intimacy? Chart ruler in the 1st house: Do you consistently focus on your identity/appearance, or the way you come across to people? Have you had to learn to assert yourself? •How do you experience the aspects made to your chart ruler- do you consistently attract or project these energies? E.g. If your chart ruler squares Mars, do you seem to attract Martian people and struggle with assertion? Or do you come across as hyper-Martian? ☆☆Thanks for any answers.☆☆

In my case, my chart ruler is Venus and my Venus falls in my 6th house. I like what Cafeastrology says about it:Ruler of the 1st House in the 6th House What you do as a vocation is more important to you than most. You may be a bit of a workaholic, as work occupies your thoughts. Others see you as a helpful and responsible person, and likely your reputation is well-deserved. You are very body-aware, and it is important that you have a healthy regimen of diet and/or physical activity. This builds your confidence. In many ways, you come across as unassuming and modest. You are always willing to offer helpful tips to others--and you have plenty of them! I think it is an important placement for me, since I tend to give thought and important to the job I do, whether it is the right one for me, etc. But maybe it helps that my Moon is in the 6th house as well, while my ascendant is empty. My chart ruler is the Sun, and it's in the 5th house, so the first part of your question doesn't apply to me. But as for 5th house themes: Art and love are my whole life, and all I care about. So yes. Another theme of my life is focusing way too much on 'fun,' never wanting to do anything worthwhile or stop the party. The only way that I will do work is to make it 'fun' - but of course, that means something much different to me now, than it did when I was into partying. IP: Logged |

I would say my chart ruler is huge in importance. My Asc sign was too, for a long time, it's easy for a Cap rising to hide in plain sight and think the heavy stuff a Scorpio Saturn in the 9th would without anyone suspecting anything. My Saturn is also conjunct Pluto, so it gives it an extra flavor of Scorpio. People generally see Scorpio in me, though that could also be my MC. 9th house issues have always been important for me. I've always taken the philosophical route out of life, it's easier than to get entangled in its many mechanisms. Religion is important too, except now I am strongly against it. I have struggled with keeping faith many years, since I didn't know where to put mine, thankfully my Saturn oppositions to my late Aries planets gave me the answer: I'll put my faith in me. Best decision I ever took. IP: Logged |

Pisces rising with Neptune in 11th. Yes 11th is of the great significance (also have stellium here) and I see I project some aguarian qualities (but also have Saturn in first). So I usually do not come across or feel like pisces at all.IP: Logged |

Two examples: I have chart ruler (Mercury) in 11H and have surrounded myself with friends all my life. They have been my family strewn across the globe. Ilove to spend time with interesting people that have very little to no limits for what they can discuss and think about. I have slowly moved away from this with age as I feel having too much personal contact drains me. Perhaps this is me getting in touch with my Scorpio NN? I like to discuss the future as opposed to old and outdated things. My husband has his chart ruler (Neptune) in 9H and he needs to be free to express himself, free to travel and free to think about everything he wants to think about. If he feels cornered he will take off; mentally or physically. He also likes to explore different cultures and traditions. He can be a little "high and mighty" which is, sometimes, a typical Sag/Jupiter thing Daydreaming is also very important to him. IP: Logged |

That's very interesting. It seems similar for most of the people I know, that they tend to relate more to the house/sign of the chart ruler rather than the Ascendant sign- unless they have a personal planet in the same sign / the planetary influence of the sign. Two Leo Ascendants I know have sun in the 3rd house, and relate a great deal more to Gemini rising than Leo rising. Neither of them have much solar energy in their charts. One Cancer Ascendant has moon in the 3rd, not much Cancer influence, and relates more to Gemini rising. Again, not much moon influence, and her moon is in an air sign and makes a conjunction to Mercury. One Gemini Ascendant has Mercury in the 7th house, conjunct Venus and he relates more to Libra rising despite having a Gemini moon. I see more emphasis on the chart ruler than the ascendant. quote: Originally posted by Koniucha: What if your chart ruler is also your ASC?I have chart ruler in my 12th house.
If you chart ruler is a personal planet, I think it would make you relate to your Ascendant sign more. In the 12th house, I've noticed these people's lives are centered on letting go. They are very sensitive and spiritual people.

Well my ascendant is in Gemini and my chart ruler, Mercury in Virgo, is in the 3rd house... so like... I'm kind of a triple Mercurian. I can't exactly tell if I'm experiencing the sign more or the house placement/aspects more. quote:
•Do the themes of the house where your chart ruler is come up repeatedly?
3rd house: I spoke my first word (apparently) when I was 1. I've always loved learning as a child. I was homeschooled at 2, and then decided to tell my mom I wanted to go to nursery school outside at 3 (which I did). I was always quick-witted and intelligent, and always did good in school. I also got in trouble a lot for talking too much while the teacher is discussing the lesson, or for being too loud and talkative in public. I have good relationships with my siblings and I moved a lot. I always had good relations with my neighbors and was involved in the community when I wanted to (still am). quote: •How do you experience the aspects made to your chart ruler- do you consistently attract or project these energies?
Moon (1st house) sextile Mercury: My one childhood friend told me I was too emotional when I was younger. I was always keen on expressing my feelings. Everyone would know how I was feeling at a certain moment because it would either show in my facial expression, the way I talked, or me just simply stating it out loud. Yes, I was a lot to handle lol. Good thing I've mellowed out in the past couple years. Mercury conjunct Venus (also sextile Moon): Loved singing, writing poetry, writing fiction, reading books (especially informative ones), watching documentaries and fictional shows, writing letters to people, etc. Nothing excites me more than beautiful and meaningful words and writing. I have always been praised for my handwriting as well. Mercury square Pluto (6th house): Too curious for my own sake. I've always discovered things unintentionally because I always dug deep into things, never satisfied with what's presented to me on the surface. I would not have discovered "real astrology" if it weren't for this aspect. My research skills are top-notch. Also, I'm not always good at keeping secrets, but I do try.

Mercury, 11th house Don't really care for groups or collective ideas, shared beliefs and finding people with similar interests. But, I enjoy learning, I usually meet people in some kind of learning situation, and my freinds are usually younger than me. I'm a teacher, so education and sharing information is very important to me. I seem to know a lot about many topics and I use that knowledge when teaching. I'm also quite friendly to everyone, but I keep my distance. IP: Logged |

My ascendant is Capricorn which is ruled by Saturn. My Saturn falls in my 2nd house in Pisces and it opposes my Virgo Sun in the 8th House. I did often have a back and forth lesson of sharing things with others , I assumed myself to be stingy,or so I thought. (Mercury opposes Saturn also which can create overly pessimistic thinking and self doubt) However, the whole lesson was to be able to balance sharing with others along with sharing and caring for myself. In sharing too much with others*Sun in 8th House desire to share with others deeply to connect* , I lost myself and neglected myself as well. I became the victim of abuse until I realized I didn't have to take that stuff and that I didn't deserve it. When Neptune start opposing my Sun as soon as it entered Pisces, this lesson was brought about. I really do relate to both of the houses 2nd and 8th. IP: Logged |

SO, if two people in a relationship both have Venus as their chart ruler, does it mean anything? Ascendants are not the same sign by the way, one is Libra, the other is Taurus.IP: Logged |

I’ve thought about asking this very question. I was visiting with my older sister one day and in the middle of everything, I was like, “OMG! You are exhausting!” She has soooo much energy and seems to talk without coming up for air. She makes me tired. I thought, ‘she has to be a Gemini rising,’ right!? Nope! Capricorn! But wait… drumroll please… Saturn in Gemini!!! It’s on her 6th house cusp trine her sun/Uranus conjunction. She’s a teacher working on a doctorate in some field of education. She wants to rebuild the education system. Sounds like a 6th house chart ruler in gem trine Uranus. As for her making me tired, her Saturn conjuncts my sun/asc. What I found interesting about this is I have sun/asc/mercury in Gemini. You’d think I’d be the bubbly, talkative one wearing on the Cap asc, but my chart ruler is in my 12th house, trine mars, and opposite Uranus. I think I talk to myself as much as she talks to everyone else. I’m much more introverted, prone to daydreaming, and hello ReachingForTheStars idealistic! Lol.

I wonder with the conjunction to Venus if the houses with Taurus and Libra on the cusp play a big role in your life..? quote: Originally posted by Kibriana: Mercury, 11th house Don't really care for groups or collective ideas, shared beliefs and finding people with similar interests.

No it doesn't, my Mercury is completely square free It forms a couple of aspects, but they're all pretty harmonious. Here they are: Mercury opposite Pluto (this is actually a really handy aspect to have) Mercury trine Neptune (in the 6th -helps me with my job) Mercury trine Saturn (no monkey business) Mercury Sextile AS Mercury Sextile MC Mercury Inconjunction Uranus Moon BiQuintile Mercury Mercury is definitely the best part of my chart, I've never had any "trouble" with it, even though it's retrograde. Many famous writers have Mercury retro. I would not call it a bad placement. I have noticed that retro planets in hard aspect to the Ascendant, do not match the regular description. Perhaps it's the same with the chart ruler. IP: Logged |

Libra on the 5th house, Taurus on the 12th.. I'm not sure about the 12th house because I don't really have a good grasp on what it represents, but the 5th house, definitely. Since I was a child creativity, fun, and self-expression were my biggest things. Romance, too, although I'm a little shy about that part. But then again, I'm a Leo and I also have Mars in the 5th, so those could be other influences, too. IP: Logged |

Ruler of the 1st(Mars) in the 7th.Well, I love one on one interaction. So long as the other party I am with is also very gregarious and active(Mars). I compete a lot for air time with Aries Moon/Sun. So they kinda irritate me. Like a younger sibling or something. At the same time, I read a lot of interpretations that suggest that this placement gives one more "Libra" qualities etc. Well,I am not wild about relatiosnhips much. And don't go all out to find a partner. When single, I am fine. But one thing I really do enjoy, is having a close friend/partner to bounce ideas off on. I usually consult someone like "Am I seeing this objectively?" before making a decision. And I love it when we explore the options rationally. I feel less sure of my decision if I haven't consulted people and weighed the options...I guess that is the "Libra" part. IP: Logged |
