death... no;

The 8th feels comfortable and familiar here/there, really.

PJ said it well in aspect to houses/planets and breaking it down.
SB has a great position Natal position to to specific aspects about Scorpio/Eighth. also.

The 8th has a gift to transform everything it touches. This can mean death[sometimes literally].

For me death means the end all to end all when there is no life. So, life can mean death... in all aspects, to every planet and house. If whatever I touch; It stops transforming/growing, it dies.
The saddest death in this case would be to keep on living and the best case would be to just die, all without whatever you place the highest.

But, I am able to look beyond the 8th for death as well.
Because, other signs/house literally represent something that can make someone snap.

Afraid of death no. The way I may die yes.

Uranus rules my 8th with Venus there. she does square Uranus in the 5th, and I have not heard pleasant examples of how one could die with this square.hm

Nope. Empty Pisces 8H
I also don't need the comfort of 'knowing' or believing that something will or will not happen after I die. It's all the same to me regardless. What's important to me is my experience here now.

My boyfriend has told me that he's terrified of death, which is surprising to me. He's an atheist, with a Virgo Moon at the very end of the 8th. Vertex and Ceres are there too. He is like me in that he doesn't need to know that anything will happen to be okay in his daily life, but if he thinks about dying, he gets uncomfortable.

I don't fear it and my MOON rules my 8th, I use to fear my parents death when I was kid though and was a source of anxiety but outgrew that and see it as natural. Ofcourse fear of losing someone you are deeply attached to is there to some extent but so far I have dealt with death very well in my life.

I forgot to mention he has chiron in the 12th at the apex of yod with Neptune in the 8th sextile Pluto in the 6th. Fear of the unknown after death is highlighted here for him and also he is very knowledagle about the different ways one can die, like a death encyclopedia, I think that can be attributed to the sextile between his 6th and 8th.

How Did You Die?
by Edmund Vance Cooke

Did you tackle that trouble that came your way
With a resolute heart and cheerful?
Or hide your face from the light of day
With a craven soul and fearful?

Oh, a trouble's a ton, or a trouble's an ounce,
Or a trouble is what you make it,
And it isn't the fact that you're hurt that counts,
But only how did you take it? You are beaten to earth?

Well, well, what's that!
Come up with a smiling face.
It's nothing against you to fall down flat,
But to lie there--that's disgrace.

The harder you're thrown, why the higher you bounce
Be proud of your blackened eye!
It isn't the fact that you're licked that counts;
It's how did you fight--and why?

And though you be done to the death, what then?
If you battled the best you could,
If you played your part in the world of men,
Why, the Critic will call it good.

Death comes with a crawl, or comes with a pounce,
And whether he's slow or spry,
It isn't the fact that you're dead that counts,
But only how did you die?

----

I have an 8H Pisces moon sextile 6H Cap sun.

That was my favorite poem when I was young, and it still answers the question for me. I don't care about being dead, but I care very much how I die...there are things I need to get done here, and I want the chance to do them. Watching my health is a duty I just don't want to fail in.

Thanks a lot, interesting.....the first thing that pops up is that the ruler of her 12th is also the ruler of her 8th and 1st which is Venus and trines her Saturn, that would do it I am thinking. I will comment more later...

Thanks.

I don't fear death but to suffer pain. I do fear the death of my loved ones.

My 8th house is in Capricorn, and my Moon is there too at 26° (critical degree).

Pluto on the cusp of my 8th house. No fear of death, looking forward to it actually so I can get my "answers". I wouldn't want to leave early and/ or a violent death, but the fear isn't so bad that I'm constantly thinking about it. I imagine death is like going home.

Thanks for your interest! I really appreciate your insights. I'm sure my sister will love to hear about this.

I thought maybe it had something to do with her Pluto being in the house of her eighth house ruler. But I agree, Saturn's probably got something to do with it.

With Saturn being karmic, maybe past lives would play a role. Not sure if you're into past lives, my knowledge is pretty limited, but maybe if a person died violently or something in a previous incarnation, they may be more fearful this time around. Just a thought.

Nope. I see it as something I've been through before and will go through again.. until eventually it will mysteriously dissolve into a meaningless concept.
I see "pain" the exact same way actually ^.

What worries me most is being surrounded by other people - friends and family who are much less able to deal with death and finality - than I am.. and I guess, I wish I could.. ensure that my death doesn't cause them heartache.
But - obviously... there is no way for me to do that, and in the end we are all on our own paths. Their faiths are not in my hands.

8th cusp Capricorn.. + Aquarius in the 8th.
No planets there.

Ditto but that's because I have some really strange ideas...violent and bloody things like the nightmares I've suffered since childhood. Getting shot or dying of health issues is fine. However I think of things like dissolving in acid or falling onto a bunch of spinning blades in a factory. Anyway
I fear the death of one particular person waaayyy more even if it is simple like being shot.

Last night I dreamed I saw a chemical gas attack, and I was scared. I grabbed a kitten and took her back with me in the bathroom and covered us with wet towels, and I was scared in the dream and it left an impression in my memory as I recall it vividly (but not what happened immediately before or after).

Though that said, such attacks have both frightened and morbidly fascinated me. I saw a pic of a village killed by such and even cats were dead in the middle of the street (note, I focused on that cat, maybe it had something to do with the kitten in my dream), the whole thing suggesting no one even had time to run and were caught completely by surprise. The actual agent used wasn't listed in the photo, and I don't know if it burned them (including from the inside out as they gasped in the gas) or was some kind of neurotoxin (causing the brain to shut down) or what, but whatever it was, it was fast.

And thinking about neurotoxins, I remembered then (only vaguely now) about someone killed by neurotoxic venom (snakebite). His team was trying to keep him alive until help could arrive and they were down to using CPR as his lungs and heart stopped working. The victim was able to communicate by finger, IIRC (he could somehow) who kept telling them to let him die, which they finally did. The thought of being conscious as your body shut down (even after the heart and lungs stopped so could only be artificially worked) was a thought that horrified me, and I thought of it again as I saw the pic of that gas attack, wondering if when it was fast if they suffered little, or if they were aware for a couple of minutes or even longer...

And more recently (about a year ago, I think) a guy had me watch this vampire movie in which one wanted to turn a vampire killer over to the authorities in Texas (as a murderer) while the rest of the vampires wanted to execute him the old way (which means he wouldn't come back). After what I've read of executions in Texas, I'd personally prefer to be killed by being mauled by vampires as my body would at least go into shock really fast, even before I was dead...not so sure about the Texas death penalty.

Well your chart ruler is Pluto which falls in the 12th house of the unconscious and dreams which squares Jupiter and Jupiter enhances and expands for better or for worse and your Jupiter semisquares your Moon in the 8th so perhaps there a lot of unknown fears regarding death and loss. See how one aspect connects to the other??

What I find intriguing is that your chiron in the 8th is disposited by the moon which is also in the 8th and your moon is disposited by Mercury and Mercury is the ruler of the 8th in your chart and is in the second opposing your 8th and your mars is also disposited by mercury which rules your 8th!

There is a lot of pluto/8th house karma and then Chiron in the 8th conjuncts your southnode in the 8th, you definitely have a past life wound that needs to be healed related to 8th house matters. I would think you would benefit from past life regression therapy honey, I really do. Did you experience any death trauma when you were a child or any kind of childhood trauma?

Interesting chart. What is your most reoccurring dream?

Looking at chart again now that I am at home.

I see that Chiron is disposited by Mercury which falls in the 12th house and mercury is disposited by Venus the natural ruler of the 8th which is disposited by Pluto and both Pluto and Venus aspect Saturn.

So the chiron wound trail is a journey that starts at the 11th but then goes to the 12th the house of the unknown and in this case refers to unknown fears and then moves on to the 8th house ruler which is Venus and ultimately finishes with Pluto the natural ruler of death.

That would do it, a strong unknown fear of death and highlight strongly in a person's psyche the ultimate fear of the unknown which is death.

Nope death is scared of me...

Also there is FOR SURE a better life after this. The reason I know this is simply because the 8th house is ruled by Pluto which is death, but also regeneration, power, sex (life), and truth.

All things must die to evolve

Well, there are a lot of things but my most memorable situation with death was when I was 7. I was in the Caribbean, living with my grandmother in the country-side. A young man (aged 17-20 I think) was killed. The district gathered to see his body and I pushed through the crowd until I was able to stare down at his face. His eyes were, of course, blank and so still...I met the aura of "lifelessness" at that moment (and there is an aura). Even at that age I remember thinking he was handsome....beautiful even. Blood leaked from his body running past me down the dirt road. I was little but I felt very connected and a part of me thought that somehow he was still there, and that the lifelessness I was feeling from his body he could feel too...feel his own lack of life. I know it sounds strange but that's the description that fits. I've also almost died numerous times in my life and experience a lot of pain (all form of it that exists) and pain I believe is the bridge between death and life.

Hmmmm.....I like this, I really do, because it makes sense and I like sense. However, for some time now I've decided that any other life after this (whether hell or bliss) would be unbearable to me, I know that seems impossible but it's just how I feel. I don't want to regenerate, or have power, or sex, or anything afterwards. I think my soul has lived too many lives and I'm tired lol. I would just want to die and that's it. ...but not even that I will be granted smh.

Reoccurring dreams would be those in which I am being swarmed. Things like me in a room with slugs all over the floor, crawling in my bed, over my skin, dropping from the ceiling, just everywhere...and it's almost always either slugs, spiders, snakes, or roaches. Same exact scenario but replace the creature. There have even been cases involving owls. Dead owl bodies all over my room in my bed with glowing eyes (blue or green). Blood smeared and bodies leading to the bathroom, dead owl floating in the toilet. I've dreamed the same scenario with creatures that don't exist, weird dreamed-up insects.

Other types of reoccurring dreams are of being in strange labs/institutions. Places in which ppl are being tested on and experimented on...rlly horrible scary things with no escape. These places are usually next to everyday things like schools and grocery stores with people going about their daily business with no clue of what takes place in the building. In these dreams I'm always trying to escape and help ppl escape with me but the others never make it and it hurts.

Lastly, I have different dreams that occur in the same places. Places I have never been to in my waking life. I will recognize the place despite it being a totally different dream than the last dream I saw the place in. I'm running from things in those dreams...I'm usually not even sure from what but I have to run. One thing to note is that those are just my reoccurring dreams but in general almost all of my dreams of nightmares and have been all my life.

Outside of my dreams, when I wake up, I usually can't move...at all. I can't speak, scream, nothing. There is an intense feeling of fear (again I'm not sure of what, it's just there). If I manage to speak it will be broken and I can move, but that takes a lot of will. For years it would occur at least 5 times a week sometimes multiple times in a night. This just stopped happening a few months ago (now it only happens every now and then).
