I know a few Taurus Suns that like to bake. A friend who is a Virgo Sun, Taurus Asc and Cancer Moon is an excellent cook and enjoys it as well.IP: Logged |

I guess I shouldn't say that I *only* cook comfort food...I do enjoy making a nice curry dish with coconut milk, chick peas, veggies (don't tell your husband I said veggies, Faith :laughing ) and rice. But someone else mentioned being a Pisces and being too lazy to cook. Yep. I think it normally cancels out any desire I would have to do it (I would much rather make playdough, salt dough, or other fun homemade stuff with my son). I guess with Jupiter moving through my H2 and making a sextile to my Cappy Mars, I'm more inclined. IP: Logged |

4th house taurus mars. Cap placements. 7th house jupiter trine moon. 7th house Cancer desc.I feed the people I love. Sweet torture. I started to cook for myself when I was very young. At first, to me it was just an necessity, hell even food back then was kinda just another necessity. Eating was mostly for sustenance, not really for enjoyment. Then I discovered friendship and sweet treats, and suddenly food and the sharing of food took on a whole new meaning. I only really, truly feel the joy of cooking and eating when I cook for someone, or have people to share my cooking with. Not that I don't enjoy it on my own, it's just that the enjoyment feels somewhat lacking. Lol I do have a natural knack for playing with flavours and spices. Often, I'm more like the "a bit of this, a pinch of that" type, rather than the type who follows instructions and precise measurements. IP: Logged |

It doesn't have to be Cancer or Taurus it can be modified by house or aspect.Like Sun conjunct Moon or a Venus or Moon/Venus conjunction. There are a lot of variables. Earth signs can figure prominently also. ------------------ Don't look back, you're not going that way. IP: Logged |

@Violets ~ Interesting! I forget how weird my diet is until I talk to normal people like you. quote: Originally posted by Violets: ^ Oh my gosh, that sounds so good! But I don't have the patience to search for ingredients or do a lot of grating (although strangely, I will grate soap for DIY laundry/dish washer detergent, lol).
Oh, that's funny! I dislike grating soap because I don't have a specific grater just for that...and no amount of washing the grater fully assures me that it won't make the vegetables soapy. I guess that's superstitious. I sometimes buy pastes instead of grating things...ginger paste, garlic paste, etc.

Aw! My Pisces best friend is like that...her cakes are just unbelievable...it's truly amazing to me, the lengths she will go to. Like she went to a train store to buy mini trains for her boyfriend's train cake. (He's an adult collector.) There was a lot more to the story, negotiating for tracks, I forget, but it had to be perfect. And she does it super fast, too. quote: Originally posted by bananaz: ***btw I need to look up that cookbook!
I love it and wish the ideas were more popular. But I have to say, it's very strange, even for me....it took me about a year to apply myself to learning all the new terms. The Ayurvedic worldview is different, which presented a learning obstacle for me. Like they think of food in terms of its "intelligence," and some healthy food is considered detrimental (like bitter greens for skinny/Vata people) and sugary fatty food is healthy (for same Vata people). But this is why I'm still thin, I think. I follow that book's general premises. IP: Logged |

I don't think that your diet sounds weird, it sounds delicious! But...Pisces Sun, lol. I'm not a fan of going to the grocery store. Thank goodness, my husband does the grocery shopping. His Cap Moon has a better eye for good deals, and he enjoys it. But yeah, I definitely use a different grater for soap! It's been at least a year since I made anything like that, though. I also always have minced garlic on hand (I just used some to make some hummus), so I guess I'm not *completely* bland... IP: Logged |

Definitely going to look it up! It sounds so interesting! When I do bother with cooking, I try to make it as healthy/wholesome as possibly, using the best, freshest, and preferably organic ingredients. I figure if I spend all that time cooking, it might as well be for a good cause lol And they say food is medicine. I believe that... IP: Logged |

I cook every day but if I could quit my job I would literally cook and be domestic all day! I love eating but I am extraordinarily picky. I haven't eaten restaurant food in over 2 years ad no fast food since 2005-2006ish. No Cancer or Taurus here. ------------------ “Most people would rather be sheep than stand on their own with antlers on.” IP: Logged |

Big time foodie. The right kind of food makes me look like a very content Cheshire cat. I love cooking too, as a way to relax or as a creative outlet of sorts. But am not very disciplined about it. I'm more motivated to cook if having friends or family over. Dunno what placement it is though. Virgo venus? Or 4th house cusp in Cancer? In 9th harmonic, I'm a Taurus sun/moon. Not sure if that counts here. Always on the lookout for recipes and can spend all day daydreaming about food and take my time making it. IP: Logged |

I'm a Pisces sun/moon and I like cooking. I like to cook healthy versions of food. I'm super picky so I don't like fancy healthy food like quinoa and kale. My favorite food blog is Skinnytaste. I basically cook all her recipes! I usually cook about 3-4 times a week. IP: Logged |

quote: Originally posted by Faith: My father dated a Capricorn for several years, great cook, and she gave me my favorite cookbook, called Ayurvedic Cooking for Westerners. There is a soup recipe in there that has become the mainstay of my winter diet. I typically will eat it at least 3x a week. No complicated technique, I just have to dice, grate, and slice a bunch of vegetables. But it's so colorful and delicious.
Sounds cool..! Wonder how those principles apply to meaty or starchy food/substitutes.. IP: Logged |

I enjoy cooking and experimenting with food but I don't have any planets in Taurus or Cancer.I have Cancer in the 5th house of hobby. So I think that any sign that falls in the 5th house it becomes a something you enjoy doing. And my moon (moon also represents home/cooking) is in Libra conjunct Venus and making a trine with Jupiter. IP: Logged |

Moon & Neptune conjunct in Sag. The Virgo Sun probably accounts for all of my stomach issues, food allergies, and picky demeanor but I actually love cooking and eating too. Like someone else mentioned, I can whip up my own recipe with "a pinch of this, a pinch of that." I Google certain recipes for inspiration but I never actually use one. I used to use them heavily modified and now I don't use them at all. I really keep very few friends but anyone who has eaten at my house house is always like "OMG so so good," "wow," "this is amazing," etc. My ex hubs (Sag) and I opened a restaurant together. We had no business loans and a dysfunctional relationship, so we lost all of our savings trying to make it work. We took turns running the place because we had small children at the time and we couldn't afford childcare. But... the people that came showed up on word of mouth about my food (all my recipes) and the write up we had in the small local newspaper. Edit: if we could have paid for a full staff, we might have made it. But it was literally one person running register, cooking, and serving (him or me). We washed dishes after close. ------------------ “Most people would rather be sheep than stand on their own with antlers on.” IP: Logged |
