My ex was very anti-any kind of mockery... mainly if directed at him.. He has BPD so he would get extremely hurt and angry, thinking everyone is abandoning him over the smallest comment (said in jest).

Sun- Aquarius
Moon - Pisces
Asc - Taurus
Mercury - Pisces
Venus - Aquarius (conj Jupiter)
Mars - Sagittarius (conj Saturn)

A friend with Asperger's was often really confused as to what the joke was - and what the point of joking in this manner is... and sometimes he also took it the wrong way as insulting.

I would say my cap stellium and my 3rd house stellium really highlight this.

I have a bit of a morbid sense of humor sometimes though, especially with myself. It goes from morbid, to outrageously inappropriate, to dry (puns, double entendres, etc).

Could very well be. I've got quite a bit of Neptune and Sag. I've done and continue to do some extreme physical stuff and sometimes for no point. Maybe the sag action itself leaps before the Neptune thinks, but Neptune in the clouds helps ease the pain. I've got a Pisces sun and Sag Mars, respectively.

In a way, I can't help it - I've got hyper mobility in arms and legs and Pisces Jupiter in 8th. On that note, I don't mind testing my limits, but tempt is something else; also not funny personally to me at all. Yes - karma in this case and better instant than later on.

With the right execution and in the right context some of my best laughs I have had involve me laughing at myself, honestly; jupiter riser and ac in sag square mercury, neptune in sag in the first with sag been my strongest sign and neptune my strongest planet.

Agreed because I have Venus square Saturn, I don't like it when guys I like tease me before I know they really like me. I don't think anyone would "enjoy" it really but others might not take it to heart like I would.

Jupiter... I bet you're a riot. Sagittarius placements aren't always funny but Jupiter itself is ha-larious. Neptune in Sagittarius in the 1st... yeah I can see how that would dissolve the ego a bit.

Till some years ago, I didn't laugh at myself..almost at all! I guess sth having to do with my capricorn asc. or venus/merc. in cancer, sun on cancer/leo cusp? I don't really know, just guessing.
But my brother has helped me a lot in this, he loved teasing and mocking at me since he was a little kid (we are born 12 years apart!) and I gradually started to laugh at myself, too. Or it has something to do with my progressed planets, I don't really know! :-/ Now I really love it, there's nothing better than having a sense of self-sarcasm, I think! Btw, my brother is a Sun/Moon Gemini, if that helps!

Normally, I'm quiet and soft-spoken. But with my friends, very boisterous.

I thoroughly enjoy it, and so do my friends! Although some of my humour is kinda dark and makes them uncomfortable at times (blame it on the 8H Scorp mercury).

Having fun with my buddies is very important to me. So is the ability to see the humour in any situation.

Dunno which of the following placements account for it:
Libra sun/Aqua moon perhaps? or Venus-Jupiter love of good times?

Edit: Progressed merc in Sag: I accidentally cracked a joke on our VP when I was hosting a serious event. Luckily for me, he's a Sag and took it sportingly. I didn't even realize what I'd said until the hall erupted in guffaws. Ofc, I was so embarrassed, coz normally I'm not the type to have such moments (compering, debates and the like are my comfort zone things). Many such #FootInMouth events till I learn to handle the progressed merc.
