I just finished a multi-year series of hard Neptune transits. Ever since Neptune entered Pisces and my 7H, it had made multiple consecutive hard transits to my natal placements in angular houses in mutable signs. Just to provide the context, during the Neptune's stay in Pisces, it:- opp Venus in Virgo 1H
- square MC in Gemini
- square Moon in Gemini 10H
- opp Asc in Virgo
- opp Sun in Virgo 1H
- square Uranus in saggi
- square Neptune (ruler of 7H in Pisces).
This was a long and draining transits setup. It doesn't look good at first glance at all and it was indeed extremely difficult. Most people won't experience this kind of cascade of hard Neptune transits, people usually get 1-2 transits or there are significant breaks between them which helps to integrate the experience. In my case as soon as one transits ended another one began and the difficulty only accumulated with each transit. I don't want to recount what exactly happened to me during that time, but I would like to share my experiences and potential tips what I personally found most helpful in order to navigate this period.
Here are my tips:
1. Look at your chart. Identify area(s) which are:
a) not affected by hard Neptune transits,
b) supported by Saturn natally or by transit (eg., a house Saturn resides in or is transiting),
c) not afflicted natally.
Then concentrate on these areas and build heavily there. These structures, not affected by Neptune, have higher chances to be stable, realistic and solid.
The areas affected by hard Neptune transits should be kept as functional and realistic as possible, but the risk is that: you will build something on illusions, you will try to understand and fix ambiguity which is draining and will consume your time and energy which could be better spent elsewhere, and you cannot be sure the time allocated there will bear any concrete, long-lasting results at all.
In my case, concentrating on areas represented by 2H, 6H and 4H (financial stability, routines and relationships with the family of origin) brought the most tangible and positive results. They were untouched by transiting Neptune. The areas I struggled most with were areas represented by 7H, 10H and 1H. So - all types of relationships, building career capital and recognition, and identity were most strongly and negatively affected by hard Neptune transits.
2. Make sure your life is as stable as possible when hard Neptune transits hit. Neptune is most dangerous if it already meets chaos, instability and ambiguity. If you know a hard Neptune transit is going to affect an area of your life (eg. 2H), make this area as stable as possible in advance.
3. Channel Neptune energy. During this period I was involved in a job which had a higher purpose and was very meaningful. The job was pretty difficult and I used all my analytical skills for it (Virgo/ Gemini). I was completely invisible and my effort was mostly unnoticed, also from the part of people who benefitted from my work. Nevertheless, I knew I was doing something important and stayed in this employment for almost a deacde. It was not ego-gratifying at all and my shy attempts at making it a bit ego-enhancing (natal Sun 1H/ Moon 10H) backfired immediately. I feel that a job where you have to put yourself out there, be aggressive and assertive wouldn't be supported by this kind of Neptune transits setup, this is just not this type of energy at all.
4. If you have any artistic skills, they should be enhanced during the Neptune transits. I never considered myself being skilled in this direction, and I am probably not, I am an analytical Virgo/ Gemini mind. But once I took pictures of my favourite spot, posted them on my social media and got many positive reactions, with someone even calling me "an artistic soul". Each time I look at these pictures they seem pretty normal to me, but people insisted I managed to capture something special almost magical with these photos. I attribute it to this transit setup.
I just wanted to add that this Neptune series was horrible and the most difficult thing I have had to deal with. Due to the natal chart setup (many angular placements in mutable signs) each time an angular house is hit all these placements are activated and I feel it very strongly. I survived a similar series from Pluto in 4H and Uranus in 7H - they were difficult but I managed them much better than this one.
I am a triple Virgo (Sun/ ASC/ Venus) so I deal with problems in a very specific way: ok, this is a crisis. My options are 1, 2, and 3. Option 2 works best and I will stick with it, option 1 is optional and option 3 is not going to fly. With Neptune transits it was like that: ok, this is a crisis... and nothing works, cannot be fixed and effort isn't bringing any results. Which is a horrible feeling for a Virgo mind : )
