From age 10-16...Mariah was everything to me. I'm not as into her recent music, but her inspirational songs (of the past) got me through some of the toughest times in my life. She truly gave me hope! For that, I'll always appreciate her. After looking at our synastry, I see that we have... Sun conjujnct Venus Moon trine Jupiter Moon trine Mercury Mercury trine Neptune Mercury conjunct Sun Mars trine Neptune Mars conjunct Venus Venus trine Pluto Jupiter trine Jupiter Explains a lot about why I was pulled to her for so long! That is freaking awesome. Do not complain about this! Prince is the sh*t, I adore him. If he tours my city or anywhere close by, I will definitely be in attendance. IP: Logged |

The image expired. "Fairy Godspider from Mars?" The Ziggy Stardust era lasted maybe a year to two years tops, out of a career that spanned 4 or 5 decades. In the years immediately after, as early as the "Berlin Trilogy" years (think "Low" and "Heroes"), David made a point of saying in print and on tv interviews, that Ziggy was not him, that was a character he portrayed, and later on in life he said in interviews that he was starting to lose who he really was in playing this role, and that people started to expect him to BE Ziggy. He also made a point of saying in later years that he was David JONES, not David Bowie, or Ziggy Stardust, or any other character he portrayed onstage. David wasn't some weird one-dimensional fictional character. I always get a little annoyed when people refer to him as Ziggy or as the weird alien from outer space - I don't like it when people "other" him like that. David didn't even like outer space either actually - in 2002 a BBC interviewer kept bringing up outer space to him repeatedly before asking him outright if he wanted to go to space. At which point David promptly told him that he had no interest in going to outer space, that they couldn't even get him in the ship. That had to be frustrating to have people assuming that you ARE the made up character you created decades ago, and treating you accordingly, and expecting you to be super-strange and outrageous all the time. It bothers me to see people turn him into a caricature. The Ziggy Stardust era isn't even a good representation of his music, he'd done all kinds of work before and after that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2t_dL_snBA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3PHnLR_LWk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8NBpfkpyZw He makes a point of correcting the interviewer and saying he's David JONES, not Bowie during this performance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQq4FH81jd0

Since when is disagreeing with someone's take on another human being , rudeness? Stop trying to shame someone into not expressing their views by insinuating that they're disagreeing out of malice or suspect intent. That's fascist, and if you really knew anything about David's work and what he stood for (which you clearly don't or you wouldnt call him Bowie), you'd know that he'd have more of a problem with you right now than me. It's a big deal because David felt on the outside alot at times, alienated and separated from everybody and at times felt pain about it. I know she meant well but it was a bit problematic to watch him be referred to as some odd separate ....thing. Not a full person who is a part of humanity like everyone else. And i can understand plain English just fine so tacking on expired slang is unnecessary. You know, we're allowed to read and write and go to school now. So i can in fact understand plain proper english. I know i know, shocking.

I'm am very familiar with alienation. It is sort of a lifetime running theme. I love what ever incarnation Mr.Jones/Bowie has put forth. Learning about David Bowie in 1977 and having him influence you from childhood is so much more different than making a snap judgement in 2016. I've watched him for decades and he's been my hero for said decades. I've grieve him. ------------------ Claire "When going gets weird, the weird turn pro." -HST IP: Logged |

Some singers and bands I've really connected with, and a link to some of their music: Emily Haines of Metric ("Monster Hospital": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdburnocQE0) Joe Duplantier of Gojira ("Liquid Fire": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PNz5YJnNfY) I discovered Metric when I was going through a very bad episode of my life. In particular, the album "Synthetica" really captured the disconnection I was feeling from everyday life. On the other hand, Gojira helped me cope with my feelings years later and actually helped bring me out of a depression. I don't know Emily Haines' chart. But Gojira has a lot of water signs, with Mars and Scorpio being very predominant influences in his chart. IP: Logged |

Someone I've adored since I was young. Her personality and humbleness is something I aspire to reflect.-We both have a Venus ruled chart. -My Jupiter lands in her 12th house where her Mars sits. -Her Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter land in my 6th. -We share a Sagittarius Mercury(we actually communicate fairly similar) There is more but that's what I noticed at a glance. Most of my 9th house lands on her IC, I feel like that means something but I don't know. IP: Logged |

Elvis Our suns are conjunct with less than 2° orb. I had some lucid dreams about him over ten years ago, before I knew real astrology, and before I was any kind of fan. After the dreams I found a stack of paperback biographies about him in a thrift shop and bought them...turns out he is just like he was in my dreams (essentially, a mystic and healer). Much later I got into astrology and realized: We are both Pisces moons. His moon falls in my 8th house. His ASC exactly conjunct my Neptune. His Mars conjunct my Pluto. His Scorpio Jupiter conjunct my NN. His SN-Pluto conjunct my Saturn...I feel like I knew him in former lives, not personally but in this same kind context...he was famous before. .....David didnt even LIKE vinyl. He said in an interview that he was fascinated by people who chose to go out and buy vinyl records in an era when mp3s and portable music players were available. He didnt understand people wanting to go backwards to a medium that was less convenient and made music less accessible. He was also one of the first artists to really get into the internet and the idea of offering music online. In short, David wouldn't have cared. IP: Logged |

I appreciate that youre a fan too but lets not get into the game of "ive been a fan longer so therefore i count more", its tacky.
Especially when it seems that for all the years you've been a fan you still relegate him to a character even he said was not him, that he played for less than two years, over forty years ago. You may have been a fan for decades but how well were you listening? IP: Logged |

I don't want to get in a p!88ing match with anyone. Vinyl and cassettes were what was available when I was started listening to David Bowie. Ziggy was my first introduction to David Bowie and all of his greatness. I don't like being chastised for making a sincere post about an artist and humanitarian I've admired for a very long time. David Bowie, like any true artist, is evolutionary as well as revolutionary. However, I will not presume to know what he would think of my humble original post on this board. ------------------ Claire "When going gets weird, the weird turn pro." -HST IP: Logged |

Paul McCartney Josh Ramsay( Marianas Trench) There's something Gemini about the rhythm and composition of there music. Within Seconds the tune sounds almost familiar. For example listen to the the Instrumental version of: Eleanor Rigby: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IXFWLJ4p6Q&nohtml5=False and Marians Trench Pop 101: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kpWkV7IBUw&nohtml5=False Also Zbigniew Preisner: Peoples Century Theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDfpWGYW4rQ Did You spot the similarities between the three Gemini Musicians?. There's an excitable and lively beat that keeps you from becoming board. Thats very Geminish. Not that it matters but I'm born the same day as John Ramsay. Not all Gem's I like for example I can't stand Iggy Azalea, I think she's half r*tarded. ==================================== Gemini Sun, Capricorn Rising Aries Moon Gemini Mercury Venus Taurus Mars Cancer IP: Logged |
