I like meat of any kind especially smoked meats, but I feel so damn guilty about the animals being slaughtered for my table, that every time I fork a piece and start bringing it to my mouth, I start visualizing the scared cow's eyes, big brown eyes, or i start hearing the pig squealing in the death chamber because pigs are such smart animals, they know very well what's going to happen...so after all this, I take a piece, chew a few times, spit it and get up...cant bring myself to eat it, more often than not. I usually end up feasting on olives, eggs, cheese, pasta, bell peppers and purple onion. I can eat olives 8 times a day, every day.
No breakfast, ever. Just tea.

I like the taste of (some) meat, but I don't like eating meat, because it's bad for the environment (and the animals lol)

I like a good beef once in a while(a few times a month), I love fish because it's healthy(once a week), and I'll enjoy chicken and a few others(only once in a while), but I don't like eating pigs (and no, I'm not a muslim)

So I only eat meat a couple of times each week, and if I am at a nice dinner with others...

I'm a virgo sun(4th house), cancer ascendant, pisces moon(10th house)

I'm actually not that keen on it. I prefer the broth or soup, than chunks of meat - but I've found that there are times when I *crave* it. I suddenly need a burger, or a few bites of steak, or a chicken sandwich.

I've spent too much time thinking about astrology lately. I thought you said that you had a retrograde sirloin.

Sun: Aries, 6th house.
Moon conjunct Venus in Gemini - and the South Node. End of the 7th/beginning of the 8th house.
Ascendant: Scorpio, conjunct Uranus.

I was a vegetarian for about five years, starting at the age of 18. I ended up craving chicken, after the death of our Cocker Spaniel.

My answer now is similar to what I said there.

I am mostly vegetarian (actually, mostly vegan) and almost never crave meat. Many, many days, my diet looks like this:

Breakfast: Dark chocolate
Lunch: Green smoothies, fruit
Dinner: Vegetable soup with brown rice pasta and fresh greens

Snack: Tortilla chips and hummus or guacamole

6H Cap sun, 8H Pisces moon, 12H Saturn
Leo Rising

I need to get my blender out again. I gave up on smoothies for a while, because I was still getting sick, but I bought two green smoothie books, about a month ago. I usually feel good when I drink vegetable juice, or a smoothie, as long as it sticks with me.

- - - - - -

I do like chicken curry, and I now enjoy chicken soup more than I used to - I've had to get used to drinking it, because I need the broth and gelatin for my stomach (it helps). But I shouldn't really have the spices, so it's a rare treat.

Lately, to get more minerals I've started eating oatflakes and brown millet flour together with dark chocolate powder, fresh fruit (for Vitamin C), coconut flakes (for fats, to make use of the B Vitamins better) and orange juice in the late morning/lunch.

I also like Indian curries, they have great veggie and bean and chicken pea recipes.

I was just reading about fats, and how they help certain things to be absorbed into the body. I'm taking Vitamin B12, D3, and SAM-e, although I'm running out of the latter (and dealing with a very affectionate cat, who keeps rubbing his head against my hand, and the touchscreen, and deleting what I'm writing).

I read about it in a book about depression, but can't recall the name of it - a new book. I like "oatmeal" made of unsweetened coconut flakes, cooked in a bit of water, with honey and mango added.

Ugh. Meat and protein in general is a struggle for me.
I think it's because my family was practically deprived of it for three generations spare for sausage and canned fish.
I want to like it because meat is a luxury( well not to us, but it is in developing countries) builds and helps restore your body but it's so harddd x_x

Blood type O tends to love meat, they crave it.

It helps to be from Colorado or Texas as there is a lot of good meat in those areas.

I'm made of meat, as we all are... and I do like myself & others... lol
So yes, in that sense - I like meat.

But of course I wouldn't eat myself, nor would I eat the meat of another animal (who is basically just like *me* in more ways than I could count, with the exception of the fact that he/she was -unnecessarily/senselessly- bred to be slaughtered and put on my plate).

I'm loving Faith's diet too!

My chart is:
Aries Sun & Taurus Venus - 11th
Capricorn Moon - 7th/8th cusp
Gemini AC

I don't eat meat anymore because I realized the flesh I'm eating is no different from my own flesh and it didn't feel right. Plus that flesh once had a soul. I'm not the best vegetarian I'd like to be. I find myself cooking processed foods sometimes, but I prefer a plant based died because it gives me more energy.

My Sag & Libra stellium with Scorpio energy (Jupiter, and many cusps, including sun, and asteroids) could make me wax on this for a long, long time, but I'll spare you.

Seriously, I could go with my personal experiences and ethics (which are complex and intricate), how dietary values and politics may or may not connect to seemingly unrelated issues, and what it says about humanity as as species, the nature of existence, and any transcendental being that may or may not have created that existence (and possibly reasons why), but after pages of it, I'd end with, "Personally, I'm just not sure."

Besides, I think upbringing has more to do with this than astrology (not to say that astrology can't play a part, but it's only one chemical in the mix).

I don't know if I like it; but, if I am HungrY, guess it's only choice- according to others around me I turn into an animal myself when I am hungry... My take on that "I don't know because I've fainted", plus water has never tasted so yummy.

Thanks for all the replies! Shocked at how many vegetarians there are here!

My sister is an 8th house Taurus Sun, 9th House Gemini Venus, 10th House Cancer Moon and a Virgo Asc. Lately, she's been turning vegetarian. She's been saying that meat tastes disgusting and won't eat it, and she's 11 :O
It's the strangest thing, considering she came from a family that eats meat all the time.

One thing I'd like to look into more one day is why it seems quite a few vegetarians and even vegans seem to love vampires as heroic (maybe anti-heroic) whether the vampire survives by killing humans or animals. I don't think it's normal, but I've encountered a surprising number like that.

Who knows, maybe someone here can comment. I do believe there used to be a LL member like that, but it was years ago and I can barely remember it. It may have even been two (as a couple) who admired Edward in Twilight, IIRC.

And this isn't me calling hypocrisy out on it, this is me just wanting to understand. I do believe that irony and paradox are important in understanding life and the human mind. But I also believe that a "method of the madness" can be described if one tries (I've certainly done it for myself) should anyone have any observations on it.

Come to think of it, it's not just that. A surprising number of furries and such who seem to admire wolves, birds of prey, and various types of felines and felidae, and may even believe they embody the spirit of such animals (this is when it especially teases my mind), can be totally scandalized by the idea of someone hunting or killing animals, even for survival.

We used to have a LL member who talked about how empathic she was yet seemed fascinated with serial killers (at least a couple) and said she even tried summoning demons and to become a devil worshiper. I did ask her about it, but she wouldn't answer. The above thoughts reminded me of this, maybe it's part of the same mental paradox.

There is a mystery here and I'd love to understand it.

Oh! And then there was the barakumin or eta of the Japanese feudal era who were seen as unclean for working in professions that involved death, from executioners to tanners to butchers (meanwhile, samurai are all wonderful, though I'm pretty sure I read of samurai who eventually became monks, and vegetarians to boot). They were seen as like animals, and no one but others of their class would marry them. And yet society depended on them. And it appears to me that the butchers among them ate very little of their own meat they butchered, but instead sold it to the wealthy and such that despised them! I tried really hard to find out more about this as it's so weird but unfortunately everyone focuses on the battles, major politics and religion, with a lesser focus on the arts and literature, and I never did find a good explanation of this incongruousness. (ETA: probably like prostitution, I suppose.)

After reading all of the replies, it's obvious astrology has nothing to do with whether you like or dislike meat. I do believe that people with personal planets on Virgo/Pisces axis, Cancers and Aquas are more likely to be vegetarians/vegans.

As for myself, I never had a craving for meat. I enjoy fish, but red meat...I couldn't careless. Well, now I'm trying to go vegan.
