Anyone remember that Big Bang Theory episode where Sheldon gets pranked on Halloween? It's a funny episode because after this^, Sheldon tries to get back at them, but gets outpranked every time and goes on a sort of revenge crusade. Which invariably ends like this.Once my brother actually pulled a very similar thing on my Dad. He has a heart condition which we all knew about but my bro kinda underestimated the impact, and the fright did cause big health trouble so...am only a fan of this particular type of prank on TV. @12muddy: OMG that's hilarious! Thanks for all the mental images in my head now... Your SO must be a very balanced character to "survive" all of this! IP: Logged |

It would be your problem if you actively caused it, even if you didn't know it could happen. Note "actively" being the operative word. The almost naked women at a beach wouldn't have done anything to actively cause a stroke in the old man. [/B][/QUOTE] Um yes she did! It was an innocent prank. the judge will understand IP: Logged |

If it wasn't intentional harmful act just as equal to almost nudity on the beach then I'm not in the wrong IP: Logged |

@DS, It's not about the judge understanding - it's about having that on your conscience. The whole point of caring about what one does to people is that both harmful and potentially harmful are in the same bucket. If you know it could be bad, why go and do it anyway? Especially when it's not something you *have* to do. You could easily do without, and save them the ordeal. @Vajra YES! I remember this one. I also love the *slightly* exothermic reaction with all that foam he does on Kripky - that was hilarious. And 12muddy's SO is a Libra. We love people who make us laugh, so I'm sure he's not just surviving it, but also loving it. IP: Logged |

Yeah but... even if you didn't intend to cause a stroke in someone, could you really feel good about yourself if you ended up doing just that? You'd have to be a sociopath to feel indifferent and go "Well, I didn't know that would happen! Oh well!" *shrugs*. Not to mention the obvious fact that not only are you causing the recipient distress, but their family members too, so it has a ripple effect. I'd feel s***house if I caused someone such physical discomfort, even if I didn't see it coming, because fact is they were affected due to what I did, and it simply wouldn't have happened if I didn't do that.IP: Logged |

@Elysia: With that mentality ANYTHING can be bad! Why don't I just go and eat a salad ? -_- It wouldn't affect my conscience at all because I don't see it as a bad immoral act. ^^

MAKE THEM PAY lol
I remembered this as I saw "prank war" that lasts from about 1:10-1:30 (20 seconds): http://youtu.be/9zMYq3wKQbU?t=1m8s Btw, though I generally don't mind pranks, a prank like that isn't something I'd do, and I found myself unsympathetic to the one who got the retaliatory prank. IP: Logged |

It depends. If the intent of a prank is to humiliate someone based off of a fear, like sticking a fake snake in their bag when you know they have a serious panic attack-inducing phobia of snakes...then no. We can all live without those kinds of moments in our lives. My Gemini Moon/Mars likes to play harmless tricks on people, though. I sometimes hide things from people when I'm around them (like their phone, or anything other objects they set down temporarily). If they don't notice that it's gone, I tell them about before I leave. How frustrating would it be to not find something that you REALLY need? I only do that with people I know well or those I know won't freak out. And not all the time...because that would be annoying. Anyway, it's a healthy outlet for my sneaky hands. There's other things, but that's just an example. IP: Logged |
