GOOGLE it... 4. the more you read the more you can give. the more you learn the more you can give. the more you research the more you can teach... we all grow here by reading more "experts" post, but also by reading astrological books, internet material... think about an online course. would you only come to the forum to ask, ask and ask to the sources or would you come with a source read and offer to others as "food for thought" I am exaggerating of course.. but just an idea.
It's called sticky thread and Randall does not have a software for that

I don't respond to many, because I'm awful at reading charts. I occasionally pick up on something, but I can't confidently write out an assessment of a chart, or synastry aspects. IP: Logged |

Yeah, ditto. And (I think it's worth pointing out) not all of us are interested in sitting around on Google all day looking up descriptions of the aspects/placements that we're interested in. That's kind of the point of having an astrology forum, lol. To be able to discuss this stuff with other people in a conversation of sorts.

probably this is something i am sensitive because of the type of work I do involves research. I hear what you say, different people has different drivers, but some people want or expect other to do the work for them. i can understand not wanting to spend hours searching for information. but sometimes just writing in google moon in cancer takes you to so much info that asking for people to repeat themselves is annoying. if someone comes to the forum asking, how moon in cancer is? of course it is a valid question, but unless the question brings something new it is boring. probably because i think whoever wants to learn need to make the effort in the first place. unless it is just a childish curiousity. learning is an "active" process and having studying psychology of learning made me very aware that only "active" learners really learn. people that want the information digested are not "active" and are just consumers of information. forums are not suitable for "consumers" but for people who want to use their brain. may take..

I personally do a little of both, but I often find the information (especially on aspects) somewhat limited even online, unless as I said I want to spend hours upon hours searching (which I do not). It's often more informative for me to hear of people's personal experiences with an aspect or placement.I understand what you're saying. I just don't identify with it much. Although yes, if people want the most basic, simplified definitions of a placement or aspect, they can easily look it up. We all have our preferences, I suppose. IP: Logged |
